Benir Pierre is a personal power coach, abuse survivor, community activist, blogger, and founder of Rising Phoenix Abuse Recovery Coaching. A miracle from birth, Benir spent her first week of life in a hole of a New Orleans bayou. After being molested at the age of six and enduring a childhood of physical and emotional abuse, she spiraled into depression. She began self-injuring at the age of ten — an addiction that consumed more than a decade of her life. Hitting rock bottom at twenty years old, her turning point came in 2004 after her third failed suicide attempt. Through rigorous soul searching, personal development studies, and divine intervention on her journey to wholeness, Benir overcame her devastating history and has dedicated her life to breaking the silence about domestic violence and child abuse in the Black community. She started Rising Phoenix as a way to help abuse survivors rise from the pain of their past into a future filled with power and limitless possibilities. Drawing from lessons learned on her path to freedom, Benir created the Rising Phoenix signature coaching program, designed to produce lasting change with measurable results. Benir currently resides in Atlanta, GA with her two French pugs, Onyx and Theo. When she is not helping others live their best lives, she enjoys cooking, performing poetry, and listening to live music. She is in the process of penning her first memoir.
