She’s Obsessed The Podcast was officially launched on 5th March at Peckham Levels with a panel discussion. I had the honour of being joined by 4 special ladies who are all killing it in their different fields. What do they all have in common? Their strength, motivation and focus, real Black Girl Bosses. What else do they all have in common? They're all breaking barriers, whether it be in the beauty, media or music industry, they have made their passion and talent a groundbreaking tool in their respective industries and businesses. Breaking barriers is more easily said than done. We're talking with thought leaders and change makers who are explaining to us what it takes to truly build a business from scratch and excel in succeeding in business. We hope you enjoy hearing from myself: Jamelia Donaldson - The Founder and CEO of TreasureTress, THE biggest monthly subscription box for women with natural curly/kinky hair. Jamelia is not only redefining haircare but beauty standards for Black women across Europe and the Middle East. See her Forbes article here. Bernicia Boateng - The Founder and CEO of Bernicia Boateng Studios, a rising name in the British make up industry. Bernicia is on a "mission to help others find what they love in themselves through the creativity of makeup." Her motto is "After all when you look good you feel good and when you feel good you do good." She must not be lying, Bernicia has worked with BBC, MTV, Nike, Vogue and many celebrities. See her interview here Charlotte Williams - An epic Freelance Marketing Consultant. You may have caught her at a beauty event or with top UK leading influencers. Charlotte has been a key actor in the growth of small and bigger brands. She has recently decided to launch her very own business called 'SevenSix Agency", a boutique agency specialising in modern marketing championing diversity and equality. Zelica Jones, Founder & CEO of Vass, a Virtual Business Support Service in communication, social media, accounting, marketing and admin. A multi-talented Boss who supports service-based entrepreneurs who do not enjoy and/or lack the time in completing tasks necessary in running a business. From admin, executive assistance, book-keeping, social media management, event coordination and more. Through personal and professional hardship, Zelica has kept her head high and eyes on her goal and is now highly recognised for her work. Adelaide Lumor, a vibe setting, community gathering, sisterhood loving DJ and a part of the Born N Bread collective. Now, this is what we call talent, sisterhood, they are the definition of Boss Babes. They have made it in the music scene and expanded their roles from Qweens of the dancefloor to Consultants and Content Creators. They are the perfect example that art can become business whilst staying authentic. Adelaide has also entered the events scene and is now curating activations and vibes in Peckham Levels. Now isn't this some serious #marchmotivation for you? The panel ended with a Q&A, which consisted of amazing questions paired with some hilarious and deeply truthful responses.

South London Collective BORN N BREAD Break Down How They Mixed Friendship With Success New Currency linked up with the incredibly talented Born N Bread collective on a wintry evening in Peckham earlier this year. They touch on everything — from the challenges they faced explaining to their parents what they were trying to achieve, to how to navigate business and friendship — in a very candid, free-flowing conversation. www.newcurrency.ca
Back with some new new content! Introducing our 会話 (conversation) segment! We'll be using these to present some things that maybe didn't fit into the main eps, or interviews we caught by chance, or just some random ish we may want to talk about. We'll be peppering these in the feed every now and then. This 会話 is our conversation with Adelaide of Born N Bread, a dope collective out in London doing their thing and representing for the culture. We were blessed to catch her while she was out in Tokyo and got to chop it up with her about her career(s), squad, goals, and opinions of Japan and philosophy (笑).
