El desarrollo de este proyecto ha sido cerca de dos años y la parte técnica ha sido liderada por la Fundación Vass. Su objetivo es que los usuarios puedan simular tares especificas para incrementar su empleabilidad, ya que el 85% de las personas con síndrome de Down están desempleadas.

In deze aflevering van onze podcast spreken we over vrouwelijk leiderschap in de autobranche. Een onderwerp dat nog te weinig aandacht krijgt, maar cruciaal is voor de toekomst van onze sector. Te gast zijn Jet Thole van OOMT en Cristel van de Ven van Factor 5. Samen ontwikkelden zij een bijzondere masterclass ‘Leiderschap voor en door vrouwen', exclusief voor vrouwen werkzaam in de automotive. Waarom deze masterclass? De aanleiding ontstond tijdens het vijfjarig bestaan van VASS – het netwerk voor vrouwen in de automotive. Steeds meer vrouwen bekleden leidinggevende rollen in onze branche, maar lang niet altijd met vanzelfsprekendheid. Jet en Cristel merkten dat veel vrouwen zich niet als leider identificeren, zelfs als ze de rol al vervullen. Ze wachten vaak totdat ze alles “goed genoeg” beheersen, terwijl mannen al sneller leiderschap claimen. Het werd tijd voor een ander perspectief. Uit een vooronderzoek onder vrouwen in de sector bleek een duidelijke behoefte: ruimte voor herkenning, verdieping en groei – zonder zich te hoeven bewijzen. Dat werd het fundament van deze masterclass. Alleen voor vrouwen? Ja. Niet om mannen uit te sluiten, maar om vrouwen ruimte te geven. In een groep met alleen vrouwen is er sneller herkenning en openheid. Veel deelnemers vertellen over situaties waarin ze zich structureel moesten bewijzen, niet serieus genomen werden of hun plek moesten veroveren. In een veilige setting komen deze verhalen makkelijker los – en ontstaat ruimte voor echte ontwikkeling. Wat leer je? De masterclass laat zien dat leiderschap veel meer is dan hard zijn of alles weten. Empathie, luisteren, verbinden, en ruimte maken voor anderen zijn net zo goed leiderschapskwaliteiten. Veel vrouwen beschikken hier al over, maar herkennen ze niet als kracht. Daarnaast draait het om zelfinzicht: wie ben ik als professional, wat wil ik bijdragen en hoe geef ik daar vorm aan? Theorie wordt vertaald naar praktische handvatten. Geen dikke boeken, maar inzichten die je de volgende dag kunt toepassen. Cristel zegt het treffend: “Het gaat er niet om dat vrouwen het beter weten, maar dat ze hun kwaliteiten serieus nemen en durven laten zien.” Wat levert het op? Na afloop geven deelnemers aan dat ze steviger in hun schoenen staan. Ze voelen zich erkend, geïnspireerd en verbonden met anderen in dezelfde positie. Er ontstaat vaak een hechte band in de groep. Vrouwen blijven elkaar opzoeken, bellen voor advies, of brengen een bezoek aan elkaars werkplek. Ook de werkgevers merken het verschil: medewerkers nemen meer initiatief, spreken zich eerder uit en pakken met meer vertrouwen hun rol. En dat is precies het doel: een branche waarin iedereen – ongeacht geslacht – leiderschap op zijn of haar manier kan invullen. En nu? Inmiddels zijn er twee edities afgerond en staan er nieuwe gepland. De reacties zijn unaniem positief. Jet en Cristel hopen dit verder uit te bouwen, met vervolgmodules, verdiepende sessies en wellicht ook gemengde programma's in de toekomst. Maar de kracht zit in de start: vrouwen laten ontdekken dat ze al veel meer leider zijn dan ze denken. Jet sluit af met: “We willen dat vrouwen in deze branche hun plek durven innemen – op hún manier. One morning in February of 1975, 17-year-old high school basketball star Leslie Vass was running an errand for his mother at the local pharmacy in Baltimore, MD when he was approached by a police officer. This was Vass's first encounter with the police, and he was confused and frightened when they placed him under arrest at gunpoint. Four months prior, three men robbed a delivery man at this same pharmacy. The victim of this robbery happened to be there that day, and reported that Vass was one of the armed robbers.
