It's a Santa Barbara tradition that's almost 100 years old. Old Spanish Days Fiesta celebrates some of the city's early settlers, with food, dancing, parades and pageantry. Santa Barbara native Paula Lopez has been involved with Fiesta since childhood. Her grandfather, Juan Cota, danced in the first Fiesta Pequena at Old Mission Santa Barbara. In this episode, Paula shares tips for making the most of your time at Fiesta. Paula and her husband, retired judge Frank Ochoa, will host Noches de Ronda Friday night at the Sunken Gardens of the Old Santa Barbara Courthouse. Paula also offers insight into the Historical Parade, and Children's Parade. The recommended essential oils for this podcast (and Fiesta) are the blend Stress Away, with an extra drop of lime (margarita making!). Viva la Fiesta!
