In this episode of the Planned Solutions Incorporated Podcast, As high inflation continues to impact households and businesses, the different segments of the economy are pointing fingers at each other. Households blame government policy for overstimulating the economy last Spring, the government blames businesses for price gouging, and businesses blame households citing the low labor force participation rate that is putting upward pressure on wages. The trust is that each segment of the economy will need to do its part to bring down the rate of inflation. Also, Proponents of virtual currencies have made arguments that these assets would take on the role of other assets, such as gold. The assertion is that virtual currencies would be considered safe assets that increase in value when financial markets are in turmoil and would also serve as a good hedge against inflation. However, the large decline in the value of virtual currencies this year appears to be disproving these arguments. And, Donor Advised Funds (DAF) are valuable tax planning tools which allows individuals to set money aside to donate to charity in the future, while claiming the tax deduction in the year the contribution to the DAF is made. However, too often individuals forget about these funds after the tax deduction is claimed. It is important to have an investment and giving strategy for these accounts in order to manage the money and distribute the funds overtime to selected charities. Plus a look at the Planned Solutions Incorporated Office Bulletin Board- Chase and Daryl attended the Financial Planning Association of Northern California meeting in May to learn about Wallet Activism. The presentation focused on ways that individuals can use their money to create the environmental, social, and governance changes that they would like to see in the world. Despite the sharp decrease in the COVID numbers, cases continue to be prevalent with two of Planned Solutions' households being hit this month. We plan to keep the office open as most people have had the chance to be vaccinated and in general the symptoms have been mild. Any infected employees will work from home to avoid further spread, but there is always the risk that someone may be infected and not yet be showing symptoms. We bring this up to make sure our clients are informed when deciding whether to meet in office or over the phone or Zoom. Please mark your calendars if you will be able to attend. The contact center at many organizations doesn't get the strategic consideration it deserves. My former contact center team at British Telecom seemed to be viewed primarily as a cost center, a necessary expense. As a result, their team was always pressured to streamline staffing, coached to be as efficient as possible with multiple priorities, and designed to generate the least amount of cost. These measures weren't bad business principles, but they also didn't send the best signal to the team. Contact center employees felt like second-class citizens in the organization, not nearly as valuable or venerated as sales and marketing. However, the contact center should have been valued. The contact center is an essential component to your experience, and also contains a wealth of information about your customers. With all that rich data pouring in, the contact center can be a front-line help to the company and the company's brand. The tide is turning regarding how organizations view the contact center. We have the pandemic to thank for part of this realization about the contact center's value. One of the few good things that came out of the pandemic was the acceleration of technology adoption and comfort. Plus, the need for contact center workers to work from home meant that organizations had to embrace the cloud, which is an essential element for the contact center technology of the future. In this episode, we host Thomas Goodmanson, President and CO of Calabrio, a global Customer Experience intelligence company that builds software to enrich customer interactions. Goodmanson explains the future of contact centers and why now is an excellent time to be in the contact center game. Key Ideas to Improve your Customer Experience Goodmanson points out that high turnover rates are a source of frustration for many contact center organizations. Turnover makes it difficult to train your people in the skills necessary to deliver that experience you want for your brand. If you don't have that front-line team there for the context, the data you collect is full of all your customer behavior insights, but inaccessible to put to work for your customer strategy. Here are a few key moments in the discussion: 05:41 Goodmanson explains which parts of the employee experience of the contact center employee are broken and why. 08:30 Colin asks Goodmanson to take a deeper dive into how the software available for contact centers enriches human interactions and where that ties into Calabrio's customer experience intelligence field. 14:21 We discuss the area of self-service and how some generational differences might drive the channels for future contact centers. 18:48 Goodmanson describes how software innovation will alleviate some of the stresses and pain points associated with a call center employee's daily work. 22:00 Colin shares his view about how the experiences of the future that will be most successful are those that are proactive, and asks what Goodmanson thinks about that, too. 24:37 All three of the hosts share their advice and key takeaways for the future of contact centers. Eric Baker with Keller Williams Realty and Ellen Hill with Atlanta Fine Homes joins the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to chat about MUST Ministries, how they got started as volunteers as well as the organization's growth. Baker and Hill join host Carol Morgan on the Around Atlanta segment. Born and raised in Atlanta, Baker has been an active player in the real estate industry for over 10 years, partnering with clients from Canton to Intown metro neighborhoods and everything in between. From the metro area as well, Hill grew up in Marietta and has been a Realtor for nearly a decade. Hill has been named one of the top three agents in the Cobb Realtors group numerous times over the last several years. Celebrating 50 years in the Atlanta area, the core focus of MUST Ministries is homeless rehabilitation, spotlighting housing efforts, food insecurity and other efforts to get individuals back on their feet. The workforce development office gives clients the resources necessary for successful job placement, including resume workshops, application tips and more. The office also helps reduce preventative job entry barriers by fulfilling essential qualifications such as meeting uniform regulations and securing job certifications. Baker said, “Anything and everything that spans out from being in a homeless situation or being any kind of food insecure [or] housing insecure is pretty much what we are there for.” The expansive Must Ministries housing network offers emergency shelter in their newly opened homeless shelter as well as semi-supportive housing, including subsidized and permanent housing as individuals move towards stability. Other incredible efforts include the mobile food pantry, Summer Lunch Program, and a thrift store that offers clients interview-appropriate clothing for job placement. Growing up in the metro Atlanta area, Hill often heard of the fantastic efforts courtesy of the organization and distantly participated in food drives. When the pandemic began, Hill came across a social post detailing how Must Ministries was mobilizing efforts to feed less fortunate students who cannot afford school lunches. Hill said, “Here I am sitting [and] working with people who have great problems and there are so many across the street and right around me who are so much less fortunate.” Hill quickly sent a message to someone associated with the organization and became involved. Her love for Must Ministries continued to grow exponentially, leading to her position on the Board of Directors alongside Baker. Loan Officer Matt Reyes with New American Funding joins the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to talk about popular loan products and the new Buyer Accepted cash buyer program. Reyes joins Carol Morgan on the All About Real Estate segment and shares additional details about the program that allows buyers to make competitive cash offers. With seven years of industry experience under his belt, Reyes was inspired to become a loan officer after a positive experience purchasing his first home. His history of financial education served him well as he took a deep dive into the world of home loans. Reyes began his journey with New American Funding in what they called “set up” back in the day stacking files and ordering third-party information such as title appraisals, title work and flood certifications. For the past three years, he has held the role of loan officer for one of the largest lenders, with a consistent stream of five-star reviews! Reyes said, “I've kind of been in each different role building up into the point of going out on my own and starting to originate loans with clients directly.” New American Funding is one of the largest privately-owned, direct mortgage lenders in the United States. Heavily involved in the industry, the company was founded by husband-and-wife duo, Rick and Patty Arvielo. A self-serviced lender, New American Funding lends directly to its clients and borrowers, servicing most of its offered products. Over time, the company has grown to include over 160 branches and more than 4,000 employees. Reyes said, “We've really become a leader in the loan lending space, combining a streamlined loan process with cutting edge technology and [creating] exceptional experience and service for clients.” When asked the key to his consistent five-star review ratings, Reyes responded that it is important to place oneself in the consumer's shoes. By providing good communication and the necessary support, realizing the dream of homeownership and curating a solid lender-borrower relationship has never been easier! Reyes said, “Try to make it personal, not transactional.” With the average home price in Atlanta up 28 percent, loan products popular with homebuyers this year include conventional products, as well as the Buyer Accepted program for cash buyers. The initiative transforms a homebuyer qualified for a VA loan into a cash buyer, providing many perks in today's market. Reyes shared he has seen numerous jumbo and non-conforming loans, which include loans above previously discussed limits and additional options for homebuyers who do not fit traditional lending molds. You might think the only option for reshaping your nose is to undergo a surgical rhinoplasty. But there's another way to change the shape of your nose that isn't so serious. Facial plastic surgeon Dr. Kiersten Riedler educates us about the liquid rhinoplasty, known as the “non-surgical nose job.” In this procedure, an injectable filler like Juvederm Voluma XC is used to change the shape or contour of the nose. Deep indentations or depressions above the hump can be filled in, camouflaging any irregularities. You may see the word “filler” and think it would make your nose larger, but adding filler along the center of a wide nose bridge can actually make it appear thinner. A liquid rhinoplasties can also correct a crooked nose, asymmetric nostrils, and more. The best candidates for the liquid rhinoplasty are people with mild issues, such as humps along the bridge, or minor asymmetries. If you want to “test drive” changing the shape of your nose before taking the permanent step of having surgery, a non-surgical rhinoplasty is a great option to try beforehand. Synopsis While many great composers have also been great conductors, this can be the exception rather than the rule. On today's date in 1959, the American composer Ned Rorem tried his hand at conducting the premiere of one of his own compositions, a chamber suite entitled “Eleven Studies for Eleven Players.” Rorem recalled: “I learned that the first requisite to becoming a conductor is an inborn lust for absolute monarchy, and that I, alone among musicians, never got the bug. I was terrified. The first rehearsal was a model of how NOT to inspire confidence. I stood before the eleven players in all my virginal glory, and announced: ‘I've never conducted before, so if I give a wrong cue, do try to come in right anyway.'” Fortunately for Rorem, his eleven musicians were accomplished faculty at Buffalo University, and, despite his inexperience, Rorem certainly knew how his new piece should sound. Rorem's Suite incorporated a few bits recycled from music he had written for a successful Broadway hit—Tennessee Williams' “Suddenly Last Summer”—plus a bit from an unsuccessful play entitled “Motel” that never made it past a Boston tryout. Rorem's own tryout as a conductor convinced him to stick to composing, although he proved to be a fine piano accompanist for singers performing his own songs. As for “Eleven Studies for Eleven Players,” it's gone on to become one of Rorem's most-often performed chamber works. Procedures for brain tumors, epilepsy, and movement disorders require a precise and conservative approach so as not to damage functioning brain tissue. UAB Hospital neurosurgeons can now check their work as they operate in a new intraoperative MRI suite—the first in Alabama. James Markert, MD, MPH, chair of the Department of Neurosurgery in the Heersink School of Medicine, discusses how surgeons respond to real-time MRIs at crucial moments. Because of this technology, UAB surgeons can now target the margins of glioma tumors; confirm proper placement of deep brain stimulators for Parkinson's disease; and use laser interstitial thermal therapy more precisely to eliminate seizures. Dr. Markert discusses the logistics of using an MRI in the operating suite and the vast potential of this suite for other surgical units.

How many streaming services do you subscribe to? How many products are on Amazon Subscription in your Prime Account? Do you subscribe to satellite radio? How about music streaming? I think you get the point. We subscribe to everything. Subscriptions are as normal today as texting or drinking $6 versions of coffee that we can make for ourselves at home. Subscriptions have a lot of appealing features to customers. In the U.S. Food and Beverage report by Attest, a consumer research platform, we learned that Of course, they also have a lot of benefits to the companies that offer them, not the least of which is a steady stream of income from its customer base. In this episode, we explore the reasons why customer like subscriptions and how psychology influences these feelings. We also explain how behavioral sciences play a role there, too. Key Ideas to Improve your Customer Experience Many years ago, I subscribed to Amazon Prime to get faster shipping. As a result, I also get Amazon Prime streaming as part of the package, but it wasn't the driving force behind my decision. Now, the irony is that I choose Amazon Day delivery to reduce how many shipping packages I receive. So, apparently, I no longer need the fast shipping, but I won't cancel Amazon Prime because I don't want to lose the streaming service. This example is not uncommon among subscribers. Loss Aversion is a significant influence on our behavior when we continue to subscribe. Here are a few key moments in the discussion: 03:19 Before we get into the theories about why subscriptions work the way we do, we share some interesting examples of programs that are working, from phones to cars to…heated seats? 06:27 Colin shares some fascinating statistics revealed by Attest, a consumer research platform, in their latest Food and Beverage report. 11:14 Ryan explains the two perspectives regarding subscription services and what each of them likes best about it. 16:54 We discuss how Mental Accounting benefits from the lower installment pricing inherent in subscription programs. 20:33 We discuss the role of Loss Aversion in subscription service and how it can benefit organizations that offer them to customers. 29:17 We share our practical advice and what we think organizations should be wary of, or tragedy may ensue. So many of us are out here forcing it. We're comparing ourselves to others, presenting a certain way on social media that isn't true to reality, and avoiding creativity because we know it won't be perfect on the first shot. You don't have to be the best artist, just allow yourself to create and express yourself freely. Liz puts her art on the fridge, and you should too! Be proud of what you create (even if it's not great!). As mothers, we truly are just a person helping our kids navigate their way through childhood and into adulthood. It's our job to love them and support them, but we need to stay out of their way so they can truly shine. Don't look at other people's businesses and assume you know what's going on behind the scenes. Entrepreneurship is really hard, but it should also be fun. Continually evaluate and ask yourself “is this really working for me?” Be Powerful with Liz & Lee, formerly Hilliard Studio Podcast, is focused on helping you find your inner power and for us to share our thoughts on society, culture, and current events. As the team behind Hilliard Studio Method in Charlotte, North Carolina, we love all things wellness and will also share info on how to live your healthiest life mentally, physically, and emotionally. Liz Hilliard is an author, motivational speaker, personal & group trainer, podcast co-host and owner & creator of Hilliard Studio Method (HSM) – an internationally-renowned, core-centric, Pilates-based workout that uses the latest techniques to get the heart rate pumping and sweat dripping – uses “Be Powerful” as a daily mantra to empower and encourage women of all generations and fitness levels to accept themselves as they are and keep moving. She is happy to be living life unabashedly with Liz and adores her teenage children who have probably never listened to the podcast! In this episode of the Planned Solutions Incorporated Podcast, The stock market is currently testing a key level that could impact the performance of the market over the first six months of 2022. After declining in January, and then falling further in March, the stock market is now testing its lows from March. Should the market rebound in May it may create a double bottom which could be a positive sign going forward. However, if the market declines further, dipping below the March / April lows, it could mean that another leg down will come before the market finds a bottom. Also, Series I US Government Savings Bonds are currently offering attractive interest rates. The rates on these bonds are based on the rate of inflation which is currently quite high compared to other interest rates. However, investors should understand the rules surrounding these bonds including the limits on the amount that can be purchased, required holding periods, and the income tax implications. And, In an effort to uncover untaxed income the IRS is now requiring more and more companies to issue Form 1099-K to report transactions. This means that more credit card and third-party networks will be reporting income to taxpayers. In some cases, this may be taxable income that should have been reported anyway but in others, it may be payments for personal expenses, such as a friend reimbursing an individual for tickets to a concert or sporting event. Therefore, taxpayers may need to be more cautious when using these payment platforms. Plus a look at the Planned Solutions Incorporated Office Bulletin Board- Save the date for the Harlan D. Wood Memorial Cancer Charity Golf Tournament which is scheduled for Friday September 9th, 2022. We hope to build on the strong participation that we had last year and set a new record in regard to funds raised for cancer charities again this year. The course should be in good shape and the silent auction items will be great again this year. In addition, we are going to switch things up a bit and play the South Course this year, which plays a little easier but is every bit as good as the North Course for great views and tricky angles to the greens. Please mark your calendars if you will be able to attend. It's the story of availability and affordability Chief Marketing Officer John Ryan with Georgia MLS joins the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to discuss home sales and inventory in the Atlanta market. Ryan joins host Carol Morgan on the All About Real Estate segment. With a 29-year industry history, Ryan has seen numerous evolutions shape how the multiple listing service works and how data is delivered to brokers, agents, appraisers and consumers. When he started work at Georgia MLS, the company still printed listing books. After the evolution of the internet, the company expanded to serve listings online for agents and now Georgia MLS provides increased consumer access to valuable real estate information via the web. Ryan said, “It's an ever-changing marketplace and it's what gets me up in the morning to come to work to see what we're going to face on a day-to-day basis.” Georgia MLS is the largest real estate marketplace in Georgia with listings in the North Georgia mountains, the Georgia coast, and practically everywhere in between! The company strives to provide transparent real estate information while serving over 51,000 agents. With a broad footprint, the Georgia MLS mission is to provide as much information as possible to individuals with licenses to sell real estate in Georgia. The company is experiencing a rapid expansion and strives to provide relevant information to its large network in order to bring efficiency to the marketplace. Over the last few years, the Georgia market reflected the availability and affordability seen in cities across the country. The current market showcases a strong demand with a critically low supply, leading to skyrocketing prices. In a normal market, Georgia MLS saw up to 80,000 homes available for purchase. Although the company serves such a large group of Realtors, there are currently only around 10,000 single-family residences available for sale across Georgia. Ryan said, “We are in a position where demand is really driving up the prices and that goes into the affordability of what we're seeing.” In 2021, around 10% of all listings through Georgia MLS went under contract within a day, 50% in one week and 70% within one month. Ryan shared that due to the high demand and low inventory, consumers must have healthy finances in order to secure a property. In the first quarter of 2022, Georgia MLS reported a minor slowdown in the number of units sold and new listings. The company also recounted a slight acceleration with the approach of spring and summer. Ryan said, “2021 was a record year so it's all kind of relative. We have never seen the activity that we saw in 2021 where over $50 billion of transactions went through Georgia MLS. That was an incredible number…and a very hyperactive market.” Tune in to the full interview above for more information on Georgia MLS or visit www.GeorgiaMLS.com. Breathing through your nose is one of those basic things you take for granted until you can't do it anymore. Guest host Laura Cain talks with facial plastic surgeon Dr. Kiersten Riedler about nose surgery, specifically the septoplasty and rhinoplasty surgeries she does to fix the inside and outside of the nose. If you're used to going through life with restricted nasal passages, you might not even realize how much better it could be. The septoplasty is surgery to straighten or correct a deviated septum, while a rhinoplasty is surgery to change the shape of the nose for either cosmetic or functional purposes. If someone wants to change the inside of their nose as well as its outside structure, it can be done in two surgeries, but it's preferred to do them together (septorhinoplasty) because it's less time under anesthesia, less recovery, and easier on the surgeon. Laura asks Dr. Riedler all the questions people are too afraid to ask, from the impact of past cocaine use on the inside of her nose to her honest thoughts on Michael Jackson's nose. Even though nose surgery looks dramatic on tv shows like Botched, it doesn't require a hospital stay and Dr. Riedler reassures us that it's not that scary and you can go home the same day. Dr. Riedler discusses the ins and outs of recovery after a rhinoplasty and septoplasty, where to find reliable information about nose procedures, the revision rate for nose procedures, septal perforation caused by addiction and whether it is fixable, and more.
