Graham and Charles interview Pete Oxley, the guitarist and bandleader behind, Hejira - a group that celebrates the music of Joni Mitchell and is definitely not a tribute band. Their setlist is drawn from Joni Mitchell's live album, Shadows And Light. Comprising highly experienced jazz musicians, Hejira is fronted by the brilliant Hattie Whitehead.Graham gets excited about the news that there is a new film in the works by indie darling, Richard Linklater celebrating the films and directors and actors behind them of the French New Wave, inevitably called Nouvelle Vague.Charles and Graham choose some of their highlights from this year's Glastonbury festival and discuss the sets by headliners and musical icons on smaller stages, alike.Keep in touch with Two Big Egos in a Small Car:X@2big_egosFacebook@twobigegos

This is a special episode and a special format - we welcome Hattie Whitehead, Linda Davis and Joey Carter to the studio to have an in-depth discussion on the topic of the erased African American history of Athens by focusing on two particular locations and incidents - the African American cemetery under the current UGA Baldwin Hall and the African American neighborhood of Linnentown, which was condemned under "urban renewal" for UGA dorm halls. After a recounting from Hattie Whitehead, former resident of Linnentown, and Linda Davis, Joey Carter and I discuss the importance of reparations and making the community whole after this kind of generational wealth loss. These are somber and cautionary stories. Unfortunately they are not the only ones. This is an episode not to miss but also to share. Please help us spread the work.
Hattie joins the show for a chat about music, life, games and lots in between. It's been three years since the Richmond-born singer songwriter released her debut EP Home, which led to radio play on the BBC and Amazing Radio, and a sell-out gig at St Pancras Old Church in London. Since, she has performed at a raft of festivals such as Latitude, Secret Garden Party, Wilderness, Field Day and Cambridge Folk Festival, supported the likes of Beth Rowley, and won the third prize in Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition.
