It's the Dish Easter special and Nick and Angela are joined for dinner by JADE. JADE is a singer/songwriter already making her mark as a solo artist. Born and raised in South Shields, JADE was part of the chart conquering girl group Little Mix, who were formed on The X Factor in 2011. Little Mix went on to release six studio albums and won a BRIT Award for British Group in 2021 before going on hiatus. JADE has since released her debut single Angel of my Dreams, followed up by the single FUFN, the video for which stars our very own Nick Grimshaw. JADE's had a busy start to 2025 with a massive night at this year's BRIT Awards, where she landed a huge performance and won her first BRIT as a solo artist. Alongside the release of her debut album, JADE is also due to perform at Glastonbury, with Nick and Angela hoping to be on the front row. She is also a huge fan of roasts. And we mean huge. Which is lucky because Angela has prepared two recipes by Paul Gamble; Roast lamb with boulangère-style vegetables and Chargrilled green vegetables with wild garlic salsa verde. This is accompanied by El Rayo Olarra Rioja Crianza. The conversation begins with a mojito, a cocktail making its Dish debut. This episode is the perfect Easter lunch, with JADE bringing her passion for roasts, gravy and potatoes while looking back at her first steps as a solo artist - including that big night at the BRITs. Side notes; Sadly the pistachio Easter egg mentioned by Nick was so popular it sold out! But we're confident you will find an equally moreish alternative in store or online. We are doing a live episode in Sheffield! On Friday 4th July, Dish will be at The Crucible Theatre at Crossed Wires Festival. Nick and Angela will be joined by a special guest for their second ever live show. Tickets are available now at crossedwires.live. You can now watch full episodes of Dish on YouTube All recipes from this podcast can be found at waitrose.com/dishrecipes A transcript for this episode can be found at waitrose.com/dish We can't all have a Michelin star chef in the kitchen, but you can ask Angela for help. Send your dilemmas to dish@waitrose.co.uk and she'll try to answer them in a future episode. Dish from Waitrose is made by Cold Glass Productions.

In this exciting episode of History Rage, host Paul Bavill is joined by the enthusiastic Laura Bailey, programme director for living history and events at the Chalke History Festival. Together, they kick off the festival with a deep dive into the fascinating world of mediaeval literature, challenging the misconceptions that often overshadow this rich historical source. The Chalke History Festival Unveiled:Laura introduces listeners to the Chalke History Festival, likening it to "Glastonbury for history nerds" where history enthusiasts can enjoy a week of talks, living history performances, and engaging activities that make the past come alive. She shares her journey from volunteer to programme director, highlighting the festival's commitment to making history accessible and engaging for all, and the importance of connecting historical narratives to contemporary issues. Literary Texts as Historical Sources:Laura passionately argues for the recognition of literary texts as legitimate historical sources, particularly those from the mediaeval period. She discusses the often-overlooked value of texts like the "Roman de Fergus," which, despite being dismissed by some as mere fiction, provides invaluable insights into social dynamics, geography, and the cultural landscape of the time.Listeners will learn how these texts can illuminate the complexities of courtly life, the significance of language, and the interplay between fiction and history, ultimately enriching our understanding of the mediaeval world. Challenging Historical Methodology:Throughout the episode, Laura critiques the traditional reliance on documentary sources, advocating for a more nuanced approach that considers the rich tapestry of narratives found in literary works. She emphasises the importance of examining how these texts reflect the thoughts and experiences of their authors and audiences, urging historians to embrace the multiplicity of perspectives that literature offers. Welcome back to another episode of School Counseling Simplified! This month, I'm excited to bring you guest sessions with experts, and today's episode is a special one. I have with me Kriya Lendzion, a school counselor turned prevention specialist who focuses on addiction prevention. Originally inspired by her personal journey through teen addiction, Kriya Lendzion is fiercely dedicated to helping educators prevent and intervene early in students' addictive and self-destructive behaviors. She combines her 23 years as a School Counselor with additional expertise as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, Certified Prevention Specialist, and Adolescent Therapist, providing schools across the globe with drug and alcohol education, professional development, curriculum, and consultation. Kriya splits her time between beautiful Asheville, North Carolina and Glastonbury, Connecticut. We're diving into how you can “addiction-proof” your students, covering everything from vaping to screens. Kriya's work is rooted in both experience and expertise—she's a former school counselor who has worked with diverse age groups, an addiction clinician, and now, a prevention specialist dedicated to helping schools implement effective drug education and early intervention strategies. Why Prevention Matters Students are constantly receiving messages that counteract what we teach about addiction. From social media to peer influence, they're often told that addiction is harmless. Our job as educators and counselors is to speak louder, more often, and in ways that truly reach them. Kriya outlines five key categories that help schools establish effective addiction prevention programs: 1. Research-Based Information (Science-Based Education) Information needs to be accurate, research-backed, and tailored to students' values and realities. Present information in a non-judgmental way—empowering students with knowledge and choice builds respect. Use passive reinforcement strategies like bulletin boards, signs, and classroom posters to keep prevention messaging visible. 2. Collaboration to Delay Substance Use Work across departments to help students delay substance use as long as possible. Curricular infusion: Integrate drug education into multiple subjects, making it a part of every student's learning. Foster school connectedness so that every student feels seen, valued, and supported. Provide parent and family resources so that parents have the right knowledge to engage in open, informed conversations with their children. Involve administration and peer-led programs to create a whole-school prevention culture. 3. Teaching Resistance Skills Equip students with practical tools to say no to addiction before they face pressure. Weave prevention programming into classes and school activities. Use media and storytelling to make lessons relatable. Start early with age-appropriate discussions—even in kindergarten. Instill strong values and goals that help students make healthier choices. Encourage collaboration among teachers, counselors, and parents to reinforce these lessons. 4. Value Exploration Activities Help students identify their own values and how addiction could impact them. Use reflective activities to help students connect their goals and aspirations with their choices. 5. Addressing Adolescent Needs Understand that addiction often stems from unmet needs. Provide healthy alternatives and coping strategies to help students navigate stress, emotions, and peer pressure. Final Thoughts Kriya's insights highlight the importance of proactive prevention strategies in schools. By implementing these five categories, we can empower students with knowledge, skills, and support to make healthy choices. In this powerful episode, David Chambers sits down with men's leadership expert Peter to unpack the hidden reasons why so many men feel disconnected, lost, and stuck in their lives, relationships, and careers. We dive deep into the father wound, mother wound, and how childhood conditioning silently blocks men from accessing true power and emotional confidence. Peter shares his own story of transformation — from self-medicating and emotional suppression to becoming a leader who helps men reclaim their purpose, presence, and self-expression. Peter Eugène Bennett, Born in London, grown in Bangladesh, raised in Glastonbury - my multicultural upbringing taught me to navigate different worlds. Through personal struggles with family tragedy and my own journey with burnout, I discovered that our deepest wounds often become our greatest gifts. I never faced my own shadows of self-doubt, self-harm and self-hate. I hid the pain, suppressing emotions through various escapes, until a near-fatal street fight and arrest became my wake-up call. Yet with struggle comes freedom. I was stuck in my head, and now guide others back home to their hearts. For those who sense there's more to life and are ready to take the leap - I invite you to discover your full expression. My superpower is authenticity. From living with Shipibos in the Amazon to training in Flowstate, each experience has deepened my initiation into leadership. With a colourful 10+ year career in fast paced and creative roles, I found success as a TV presenter, “won” 3 dating shows and worked with brands such as MTV, Vice Media and TimeOut - still my heart yearned for more.. Everything changed when I attended my first men's circle in 2019. Recognising the profound impact of this work, I trained as a facilitator and began leading my own groups, witnessing the power of connection. Now, as Director of Sacred Sons Europe, I guide transformational experiences across the world, whilst offering 1-2-1 coaching and conscious leadership and wellbeing consultancy. Settled back in the UK after a long stint in Berlin, London chill-out devotee Lucy Cook treats us to one of her notoriously nostalgic blends, with meditative vocal swept soundscapes and smoky jazz lounge space dub fused with trip-hop cuts resurrected from obscure CDs from the 90s and 00s. Deeep mood exploration at its finest! @lucyscook Q. What inspiration did you draw upon when planning this mix, and what type of listening environment could you imagine it being enjoyed in? A. I put the mix together after a bright and productive start to the year. It's somewhat reflective of my mood I guess, maybe not through the vibe of the tracks, but in the space around them. I've explored some deeper sounds in this one.. so maybe one for some introspective listening. I recently visited Japan too and was super inspired by how intentional everything is, with a focus on simplicity and quality. Stripping things back and consistency are new-ish themes in my personal life too, which feels really good. Q. Are there any songs in the mix that are especially close to your heart, and what is it about these tracks that resonate with you so much? A. I really can't choose, but there's a couple of edits and things I made which feel special. I had fun layering some interesting vocal samples and weird sounds I've been collecting over the years, and created some bits with these which are peppered throughout. Quite a few of the tracks are CD rips from the 90's and 2000's, which is a method of digging I love. For me without it, so much amazing music wouldn't be shared. There's also one or two from friends' labels Truffle101 and Sonido Chido which are really cool ones. It's important to me to support those around me and get good music heard :) Q. I know you recently made the move back to London after some years living in Berlin, how's the transition been and what are a couple of your favourite UK parties or festivals that you're looking forward to reconnecting with this summer? A. It took a little while to “arrive” here actually. I'm a pretty calm person and the energy is very different, but I'm feeling happy and at home here now. Electronic music wise, I went to Houghton for the first time last year and was blown away by the quality of the music, so I'm looking forward to being there again. Otherwise, I'm enjoying seeing more live musicians. There's always a lot of great psychedelia, jazz, soul, and hip hop to see here, especially outdoors in the summer. Oh and number 1, Glastonbury!
Baylen Leonard sits down with Shaboozey just after his main-stage performance at C2C 2025. He talks about how his life has been a whirlwind since 'A Bar Song', looks ahead to his performance at Glastonbury this summer, and reflects on bringing a wide range of influences to his music.

Perhaps most famous for his radio show The Infinite Monkey Cage which he co-hosts on BBC Radio 4 with Professor Brian Cox, Ince has been bringing science to the masses in new and hilarious ways since the 90s. In this interview with our sister publication, Research Features, we discover what it's like performing 'science' at Glastonbury, why people may be frightened of science, and neurodivergence in STEM.
Adam Hurrey is joined on the Adjudication Panel by Charlie Eccleshare and David Walker. On the agenda: a very appropriate Glastonbury slot for one football-adjacent artist, Sky's obsession with Arsenal's 11.2-yard wall at a Manchester United free kick, LinkedIn's latest football breakthrough, a tremendous Footballers' Names in Things from Down Under, some unacceptable self-co-commentary at 5-a-side and, finally, the answer to the question of what happens if you merge Richard Keys with Andy Gray. Meanwhile, the panel ponder the low-key football tradition of having initials printed on a tracksuit and the sweet spot for the career of a player who fathers an even more successful footballing son. Felicity Hannah looks back at a rollercoaster week for US tariffs on its neighbours. Plus, what does the Glastonbury line up tell us about the British music business?
Get ready for a wild ride, betch — today's show had it all! Mother Monster herself Lady Gaga opened up to us about her new album Mayhem, describing it as a collection of dark dreams expressed through celebration, with Abracadabra embodying resilience on the dancefloor. Then, buckle up because we dove into one of the weirdest money grabs of the year: a Pokemon-shaped Cheeto is up for auction for over $100k! That’s right — a crispy, cheesy Pikachu might just be someone’s next investment piece. We can’t decide if we’re impressed or horrified. New Music Friday brought the bangers, as always. We ran through the freshest tracks you need in your life right now — cue the impromptu studio dance party. In the Glossys, we unpacked the just-dropped Glastonbury lineup for this year. It’s stacked with massive names, and honestly, we’re already mentally packing our gumboots. Ricki’s mum, Loretta, stole the show when she called in with an update on Cyclone Alfred. The storm was fierce, but Loretta’s commentary was even fiercer. She’s a hoot, and we’re still giggling. And finally, a special shoutout to Joel, who achieved something monumental — reverse parallel parking like an absolute pro. Small win? Maybe. But it deserves a full-on celebration in our books. Crank up the volume and catch all the chaos — you won’t want to miss this!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

HELLO SERIES 5! Today's guest today is a DJ, producer, composer and entrepreneur, Geoff Kirkwood. Professionally known as DJ Man Power he has built a solid reputation as an eclectic producer who nimbly steps between, Disco, House and Techno whilst casually stopping off along the way for grand scale projects, such as composing for the Royal Northern Sinfonia. His reputation as a DJ has seen him selected to curate a Radio 1 essential mix and allowed him to travel the world playing in legendary spots like Glastonbury, the Panorama bar in Berlin and Burning Man Festival in the USA. But perhaps the most important and interesting thing about this journey has been the way he has taken the culmination of these experiences and invested them in his home town of North Shields. Whether it is through breathing life into an old working mans club with his regular night 'Are you affiliated' or investing in a community hub close by, where creatives can collaborate and make their art on their terms, Geoff has kept his feet firmly on the ground whilst reaching for the stars and I am very excited to welcome DJ Man Power today on What Goes Around.BEFORE THAT...We talk to Patrick Clarke about his excellent new book about Soft Cell 'Bedsit Land'.Deb gets the rap-beef update from Eamon and both of them decide that you should live your best life.
