Host Victor opens by previewing the podcast's current coverage: HBO's Industry (focus of this episode), The Pitt on HBO Max, Apple TV+'s Drops of God, and a Christopher Nolan rewatch ahead of The Odyssey (with upcoming discussion of Insomnia). He also mentions upcoming premieres including Paradise, which remains the podcast's most popular show. mailto:needssomeintroduction@gmail.com Victor calls Industry's episode “Dear Henry” an elite, event-packed installment that feels like a season finale while resolving little. He follows up on last week's revelation that Tender is effectively a Ponzi scheme by outlining real-world analogs: the FTX collapse (FTX/Alameda circular self-inflation via the FTT token), Germany's Wirecard fraud (manufactured transactions, overpaying for acquisitions, auditors' failures, and political/regulatory protection including actions against Financial Times reporting), and Theranos as a charisma-driven deception. He also notes money-laundering examples involving Ghana and argues the show's broader theme is the emptiness of a culture fixated on wealth, valuation, and belief-driven “truth,” raising questions about how much corporate value is overstated and whether society celebrates con men. Joined by Darren, they first discuss the Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (episodes 1–5), praising its intimacy, sets, humor, acting, and a brutal recent battle episode, and noting its short season and fast production cadence. They then break down “Dear Henry”: Harper warns Yasmin that she and Henry were duped by Whitney, and while Yasmin reacts defensively, the warning sinks in. Whitney's unsettling dynamic with Henry escalates (including a bathroom/shower moment and later clubbing), while Henry grows suspicious about Tender's audit and Whitney's manipulation. Sweetpea's public takedown presentation at an Alpha conference drives Tender's stock down sharply and impresses Eric, who watches with pride. In Ghana, a planned whistleblower meeting is disrupted when Whitney arrives first and intimidates the potential source (Tony), reinforcing fears of more dangerous forces behind Tender. Later, Whitney is revealed to be using a fabricated identity (a Lithuanian passport is shown) and a conversation indicates Russian-linked backers are laundering money through Tender, trapping Whitney and raising the stakes for everyone. They discuss Whitney's use of high-end escorts as tools for access and influence; Hayley confirms she and others were planted around key figures and that sex acts were recorded, confronting Yasmin with how they were exploited. Eric receives a compromising video involving an underage girl (“Dolly”) while with his daughter, but still appears on TV to push for a new audit, warning Whitney not to corner him and implying he could expose Whitney. Henry fires an auditor and tries to assert control as CEO, while Whitney continues drafting a “Dear Henry” letter about a “hole in the bucket,” revealed as a cash-flow/shortfall problem. The episode culminates in Eric meeting Harper with a lawyer present; he asks only for his original investment back to be put in trusts for his daughters if the short pays off, suggesting he may be planning to exit entirely. Eric admits he felt genuine pride watching Sweetpea, more than he expected he could feel, and the final image of him walking alone fuels Victor and Darren's concern about possible suicide or at least Eric's departure from the show. They close by anticipating two remaining Industry episodes, the A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms finale, and the upcoming launch of Paradise, while noting Darren will be traveling and will catch up later. 00:00 Welcome & What We're Covering This Week (Industry, The Pit, Drops of God, Nolan Rewatch) 02:36 Why This Week's Industry Episode ‘Dear Henry' Feels Like a Finale 03:20 Tender as a Ponzi: Looking for Real-World Analogs 05:24 FTX Explained: The Circular Token House of Cards 10:27 Wirecard: The Closer European Parallel (Fraud, Audits, Politics) 18:26 More Scams & Money Laundering Threads: Theranos, Ghana, and Beyond 19:59 What Industry Is Really Saying: The Emptiness of Wealth Culture 23:49 Darren Joins: Quick Detour Into the New GoT Prequel ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' 39:41 Back to Industry: First Impressions, Then Scene-by-Scene Breakdown Begins (Yasmin & Harper) 42:46 Yasmin vs. Harper: Self-Made Power vs. Riding Coattails 43:32 Trailer Talk: Are Harper & Yasmin Two Sides of the Same Coin? 45:48 Whitney's Shower Ambush & the ‘Hole in the Bucket' Letter 49:44 Boarding School ‘Experimentation' and Henry's Growing Suspicion 52:12 Whitney's Intimate Manipulation: Touch, Jealousy, and Control 57:03 Political Satire + Real-World Scam Parallels (FTX, Wirecard, Theranos) 01:01:35 ‘Too Big to Fail' Lies: Can a Fake World Hold Together? 01:03:06 Clubbing, Relapse Energy, and Henry's Night Spirals 01:05:53 Was Jim's Overdose a Setup? Mario Busto and Zachary Newton recap Story Archives' episode five deep dive of A Night of the Seven Kingdoms, titled “In the Name of the Mother.” They debate the episode title, then break down the trial by combat and its chaotic, fog-covered battle staging, including key background moments like Raymun Fossay saving Dunk and Baelor being struck in the head. They react to Baelor's death, discuss succession implications and who may have survived, and criticize Aerion's survival despite his injuries. The hosts also analyze Dunk's brutal damage during the fight, praise the helmet POV and heavy-armor realism, and talk through the flashback to young Dunk and Ser Arlan of Pennytree, including whether the flashback used too much runtime in a 35-minute episode. They close with thoughts on the show's high ratings and nostalgia factor, budget comparisons to Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, a brief discussion of what they might cover next on the podcast, and end by noting the season finale is next because the season is only six episodes.00:00 Welcome Back + Episode 5 Title Debate (“In the Name of the Mother”)01:36 Why This Episode Hits: Themes, Morality, and the GoT Vibe02:29 Baylor's Death: Reactions, Fallout, and the Succession Question05:01 Breaking Down the Trial by Combat: Hidden Moments & Baylor's Final Hit09:00 Fog of War & Realistic Combat: Dunk's Helmet POV and Brutal Injuries12:30 Aftermath Speculation: Tournament, Dunk's Future, and Maekar's Response15:27 Flashback Controversy: Pacing, “Get Up” Transition, and Arlan of Pennytree29:05 Budget Talk, Aegon's Conquest Spin-off, and Casting Without A-Listers35:01 Actor Presence & a George C. This episode is sponsored by Betterhelp. In this episode, we're joined by Margot Lane and Jezebel Sweet, former members of Corey's Angels, the all‑female band and “angel” entourage formed and led by actor and musician Corey Feldman. Drawing on their experience, partially shown in the new documentary COREY FELDMAN VS. THE WORLD—a cinéma vérité chronicle of Corey's attempt to reboot his career—they describe what it's like to have the camera rolling long after the performance ends, how it felt to be inside the Corey's Angels brand while he negotiated the cost of childhood fame in real time, and what they see now that they're on the other side of that project. They talk about how what looked like a quirky Hollywood comeback vehicle came with an intense image regime, tight control over their time and presentation, and a blurry line between artistic collaboration and life inside Corey's carefully curated universe. They also unpack the power dynamics of working for a controlling boss, the emotional whiplash of loyalty, doubt, and disenchantment, and in Part 2, we chat more about what it's taken to reclaim their own narratives, music, and creative futures outside Corey's orbit. You can watch Corey Feldman Vs. You get a firehose of genuinely useful Apple tips this week, starting with new muscle-memory moves you'll actually use: cycling app windows with Cmd + `, nodding or shaking to answer AirPods, dragging apps straight from iOS search, and building Focus-specific home screens so the right icons appear at the right time. Edge Light turns your Mac into a cleaner on‑camera rig, Display Buddy tames external monitor brightness, and custom macOS keyboard shortcuts plus Dock CPU meters give you fast, surgical control over your Mac. Then you level up your living room: master the Apple TV remote's scrub wheel, undo accidental scrubs, jump in precise increments, push video from iPhone to Apple TV, and fling audio to HomePod with a tap. Even Reminders gets a glow‑up so you can punt a pile of alerts in one shot instead of playing whack‑a‑mole. From there, you zoom out to “meta” geekery: backing up critical Notes (or moving to OneNote, Ulysses, or Obsidian), even flirting with a git repo to sync prefs and personal data like a developer. On the road, you learn how to keep CarPlay tappable with gloves, and in the cloud you explore why chatbots forget context, when to bring in tools like Claude, Perplexity's Comet, Atlas, Gemini, or Claude's Chrome extension, and how having an always‑on troubleshooting assistant changes how you work. Listener reviews cap it off by framing the show as a kind of PhD in troubleshooting, all so you can experiment, push your tech harder, and, of course, don't get caught. 00:00:00 Mac Geek Gab 1129 for Monday, February 16th, 2026 February 16th: Innovation Day MGG Monthly Giveaway – Enter to win a Copilot Money! 1.30.2026 #RolandMartinUnfiltered: Don Lemon, Georgia Fort Arrested Over Church Protest. Press Freedom on the Line Under Trump. Former CNN anchor and journalist Don Lemon and independent Minnesota journalist Georgia Fort were arrested along with two others in connection to the Minnesota church protests. Lemons predicted his arrest would still happen after the Department of Justice abandoned his arrest warrant on Tuesday. Lemon says he was there reporting--not protesting and, a judge recently rejected prosecutors attempts for his arrest. The question now is, what does this mean for our first amendments rights, what does it mean for journalists reporting real news -- and, what does it mean for people who challenge power and injustice under this Trump administration? Tonight, we talk with Erin Haines, President of the National Association of Black Journalists, and Octavia Treadway, Chair of the Center for Broadcast Journalism, to unpack the implications for journalists and the public. In this quick Geek Freaks Headlines update, we break down reports that Apple has acquired the rights to Severance from Fifth Season, seemingly to keep the show's future stable as costs balloon. We talk about the reported price tag for Season 2, what that could mean for potential future seasons, and why this move feels similar to how Apple handled Silo. We also touch on the chatter around prequels and spinoffs and why a “how this whole severance procedure started” story could actually rule.00:00 Apple reportedly buys the rights and why this matters00:15 The “too expensive” problem and the Season 2 cost talk00:30 What the reporting suggests about multiple seasons, prequels, and spinoffs00:43 The Silo comparison and the production-location chatter (New York vs Canada)00:55 Fifth Season's other projects and final thoughtsThe big headline is Apple reportedly acquiring the rights from Fifth Season, which could remove a major roadblock tied to rising production costs.Season 2's reported budget number is a reminder that prestige TV is now competing with blockbuster-level spending.Even with rights secured, more seasons are not automatically guaranteed, but the reporting points to bigger long-term ambitions. The Silo comparison suggests Apple is comfortable investing more heavily when it fully controls the property. If spinoffs happen, a prequel focused on the origin of the “switching” concept feels like the most naturally compelling direction.“Season two apparently cost $20 million per episode.”“They can handle the show better and expand it into the future.”“I'd really like a prequel that kind of explores who came up with the idea of this switching personality thing.”If you enjoyed the update, make sure you're subscribed to Geek Freaks Headlines. Handspun documentation I went through nearly all of my handspun skeins of yarn. I made updates in each page on Ravelry to add skein information. You can enter length and weight and it add that to your stash. I also ended up changing the names of the finished projects to include the weight and length! I wrote yarn weight (dk sport etc) on physical tags i have on the yarn. So much easier for me to work with. If you look at the pattern on Rav and click the Projects Tab. You can use the filters there to select "Made by Group Members" and then click on the Rav group you want to look in. You can use that to see who you want to chat w/ about it. ElizabethisKnitting (on Instagram- shared her Winter Soul Sweater in this post. Its so beautiful! Why are you not all knitting this?

Brute 1976 is a solid horror movie that throws us back to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes days where there are desert-dwelling psychos who kill with thrill. The campiness of the classic group further mimics the bohemian feel of characters, each of whom personifies those slasher stereotypes we know and love. I can honestly say you will be afraid of those weekend getaways where everyone is targeted. Brute 1976 left me completely full on the type of horror I love. Sarah French: the award-winning actress who has been in more independent horror movies than I can count, she is what I would call pure talent. Not only has she impressed me her ability to act in every role given, but she has also left the impression that no matter what it takes, she will get the job done. Her role in Brute 1976 as Sunshine has definitely lit up the screen with her iconic gift to grab the essence of that character and bring her to life. If you have not seen this movie, I highly recommend it… If you want to travel back in time to revisit your love for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes, then you have to see this spot-on replica of the imaginative storylines. Brute 1976 is now on Digital: Tubi, Amazon Prime Video, Fandango, Apple Tv and many more platforms. If you're a fan of 70s horror, then you have to see this! Make sure to stop by Sarah's Facebook and Instagram pages to show her some “Brute” love and support.

WHEN PEOPLE move from one nation to another, do they bring their gods with them? We ask because God delegated authority over the nations to angelic beings called "sons of God" after the tower of Babel incident (Deuteronomy 32:8). The Western world has been flooded by migrants from parts of the world that are generally not Christian over the last 15 years. Is this more than simply trying to compensate for low birth rates in the northern hemisphere? In our book, the Gates of Hell, we showed how the location of Jesus ministry mattered. For example, his declaration that the gates of hell would not prevail against his church was made in the middle of territory known to be not just a pagan cult center, but an area inhabited by the spirits of the Rephaim and the gateway to the netherworld. So, it seems that Jesus acknowledged a connection between the physical realm and the spirit realm. Do spirits stay attached to specific geographic locations, or do they move when the people move from those locations? If so, how does that translate to our modern geopolitical situation? Also: Prepare for major cultural and economic disruptions because of artificial intelligence within the next 12 to 18 months.
