Josh Bornstein is an employment and IR lawyer at Maurice & Blackburn and the director at the Australia Institute. He's been increasingly concerned about the level of control that Australian employers have gained over their employees' freedom of speech and expression. So when it comes to the case of Israel Falou, he's been (controversially) outspoken about the legal ramifications for workers if we accept that your boss can fire you for saying the wrong thing.  Here Josh and I take the time to flesh out his argument on this, how one can unequivocally condemn what Falou said but still object to him losing his job and what the implications for this saga might be for anti-discrimination protections moving forward.   Be the change you want to be in the world and support this show by becoming a Patron please ENOUGH is coming to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August and the Soho Theatre in September @JoshBBornstein  joshbornstein.com.au ARTICLE: Cricket Australia's Angela Williamson won't be the last fired for having an opinion by Josh Bornstein ARTICLE: Sacked for speaking your mind? Joshua Liberman is a well known member of the SMB IT Community. In addition to writing for ChannelPro and other magazines, you may recognize him as the guy taking pictures at several shows, including ASCII and SMB Techfest. Josh owns Net Sciences in Albuquerque, NM. They are an MSP with a strong focus on security. Luckily, Josh also makes presentations to IT Pro conferences. I’ve seen him present in the U.S. and Australia. That’s when I decided I should interview him. Here Josh talks about the challenges and opportunities for installing, configuring, and upselling firewalls. (Hint: Starting in the mid-range can be a great place to start.) Josh’s team has a thorough checklist for firewall setups. If you need help, he is willing to assist. Contact him at NetSciences.com. Best Comment: If you’re in this business, you’re in security, whether you realize it or not.   Link: Web Site: www.netsciences.com   Check out the interview here:    This interview is 30 minutes. We welcome the return of London selector Josh Lentink for his second mix on the Avenue Red Podcast. Here Josh starts off with a golden electro cut and slides through some smooth 4/4 deepness for over an hour. A pleasure as always, keep an eye on this young lad, he has 100% "got something". Also, make sure you cast your screens over to https://soundcloud.com/reprise - this is Josh's own podcast series, which was apparently inspired into being by Avenue Red. We are flattered Josh! He has obviously worked much harder than us over here, with the latest 30th episode coming within the first year! We'll both keep working to bring quality sounds to your ears, rest assured. Enjoy the mix everyone, the first of 2016 - a solid start. "Not much to say really, here's a mixture of old and new tracks that came together over a couple of evenings. I wanted to include a variety of genres throughout the mix which helped provide some unexpected changes. Enjoy x" Josh Lentink, January 2016 See Also: https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-044-josh-lentink https://soundcloud.com/joshlentink https://soundcloud.com/lentink https://soundcloud.com/reprise
