Life is so busy that many people are missing out on what's most important ... a relationship with Jesus. When Jesus was born, the inn keeper and all of the people, except for the shepherds, were too busy to notice the Messiah had been born. Unfortunately, that continues today. Don't be too busy. Don't miss out on Jesus. The Love In Action Minute airs every day on The Joy FM thanks to a generous donation from Weed Man, who provides quality lawn care services for the greater Dothan area. LIA Devotional: God tells the prophet Ezekiel in Ez. 16:49-50, that He destroyed Sodom because they "did not help the "poor and needy." Throughout scripture we read where God commands us to help the poor and needy. As followers of Jesus, we cannot ignore His commands. In fact, Jesus says in John 14:15, "If you love me, you will keep My commandments." We keep His commandments because love Him. Let's show our love of Jesus by keeping His commandments, including helping the poor and needy. We read in Matthew 25:35-40, that when we serve those in need we are serving Jesus. Jesus said, "as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." Our Lord commands us to help and serve those who are in need around us. It's a command we take seriously here at Love In Action Ministries. It's a command for all believers. We need to take a personal survey and see if we are obeying Jesus. Not just with this command, but with all of His commands. His commands are not burdensome (1 John 5:3). The Love In Action Devotional airs daily on The Joy FM thanks to a generous donation from Weed Man, who provides quality lawn care services to the greater Dothan area. After we re-shared our conversation with Jonathan Pokluda about his new book, Your Story Has A Villain, Bill sprang into action to say thank you to all those that support the ministry of The JOY FM. While Dave was getting ready to do some work for Classic JOY, he came across a song that reminded him of a time early on in his faith walk. Carmen called Haley in to help her re-attach a glucose monitor and had Bill watch in case he needed to do the job for her one day. As...
Picking a name for your baby can lead to fights. Bill shared a list of the top baby names and it seems as though some older names are making a comeback. And if that list doesn't help you, you might want to consider a baby name consultant. Carmen is definitely considering that as a side hustle. The next time you fly, you might have a one-of-a-kind JOY FM billboard bag as your carry-on. Carmen was glued to the TV yesterday watching the return flight of the capsule carrying the...
If you care to have a JOY FM billboard bag, this week is your chance to get your hands on one. With all his wealth, one would think that Warren Buffett wouldn't care to give much of it away. But he has tried for years to give someone $1 million dollars through his NCAA Tournament bracket challenge. No one has done it so he is changing up the rules now. Carmen has a new toy to help her monitor her glucose which helps her care for her health. And a 12-minute walk last night was...
