Karen Peck joins the Morning JoyRide for a heartfelt conversation about grief, hope, and faith. She shares the story behind her upcoming album Good Answers, inspired by her mother's final words before passing: “I pray to God and God gives good answers.” Just a week later, Karen faced another tragedy—the loss of her best friend Kelly Nelon in a plane crash—deeply shaping her music and faith. Through tears and hope, she reflects on the nearness of heaven, the comfort of family, and the truth that we were never meant to carry burdens alone. Her story offers a powerful reminder this Easter season: in life's hardest moments, God still gives good answers. Life is so busy that many people are missing out on what's most important ... a relationship with Jesus. When Jesus was born, the inn keeper and all of the people, except for the shepherds, were too busy to notice the Messiah had been born. Unfortunately, that continues today. Don't be too busy. Don't miss out on Jesus. The Love In Action Minute airs every day on The Joy FM thanks to a generous donation from Weed Man, who provides quality lawn care services for the greater Dothan area. LIA Devotional: God tells the prophet Ezekiel in Ez. 16:49-50, that He destroyed Sodom because they "did not help the "poor and needy." Throughout scripture we read where God commands us to help the poor and needy. As followers of Jesus, we cannot ignore His commands. In fact, Jesus says in John 14:15, "If you love me, you will keep My commandments." We keep His commandments because love Him. Let's show our love of Jesus by keeping His commandments, including helping the poor and needy. We read in Matthew 25:35-40, that when we serve those in need we are serving Jesus. Jesus said, "as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." Our Lord commands us to help and serve those who are in need around us. It's a command we take seriously here at Love In Action Ministries. It's a command for all believers. We need to take a personal survey and see if we are obeying Jesus. Not just with this command, but with all of His commands. His commands are not burdensome (1 John 5:3). After we re-shared our conversation with Jonathan Pokluda about his new book, Your Story Has A Villain, Bill sprang into action to say thank you to all those that support the ministry of The JOY FM. While Dave was getting ready to do some work for Classic JOY, he came across a song that reminded him of a time early on in his faith walk. Carmen called Haley in to help her re-attach a glucose monitor and had Bill watch in case he needed to do the job for her one day. As...
Picking a name for your baby can lead to fights. Bill shared a list of the top baby names and it seems as though some older names are making a comeback. And if that list doesn't help you, you might want to consider a baby name consultant. Carmen is definitely considering that as a side hustle. The next time you fly, you might have a one-of-a-kind JOY FM billboard bag as your carry-on. Carmen was glued to the TV yesterday watching the return flight of the capsule carrying the...
If you care to have a JOY FM billboard bag, this week is your chance to get your hands on one. With all his wealth, one would think that Warren Buffett wouldn't care to give much of it away. But he has tried for years to give someone $1 million dollars through his NCAA Tournament bracket challenge. No one has done it so he is changing up the rules now. Carmen has a new toy to help her monitor her glucose which helps her care for her health. And a 12-minute walk last night was...

Everyone wants to be loved and our homeless friends are no different. They're just like you and me except they don't have homes. It's important that we tell and show our homeless friends and everyone we come in contact with that we love them and most of all that Jesus loves them. Joseph Habedank opens his heart about the journey from addiction to redemption in this candid and inspiring conversation. The acclaimed Southern Gospel artist shares how his struggle with prescription drug dependency—and subsequent recovery nearly twelve years ago—transformed his understanding of God's grace and erased the shame that once defined him.At the center of our discussion is Joseph's powerful song "No Shame," which perfectly captures the essence of Joy FM's upcoming spring fundraiser theme: "Made for More." The lyrics reflect his personal testimony: "I'm saved by the blood of the Lamb, I'm free, I've been born again, I'm forgiven, I'm a child of the King. There ain't no shame on me." Joseph reveals how a visit from gospel legend Russ Taff during rehabilitation changed everything when Taff told him, "God loved you when you were using drugs. He still loved you, but he's crazy about you now." This revelation helped Joseph grasp the depth of God's affection that sees beyond our failures. With refreshing authenticity, Joseph discusses the tension between professional success and personal humility. He credits his wife Lindsay with keeping him grounded, sharing a powerful story of how she confronted him after winning multiple awards to remind him what truly matters. "What I want more than anything," Joseph confesses, "is for people to say he was a good guy, a good man who had integrity and took the worst thing that ever happened to him and let God make it into the best thing." Though celebrated for his music, Joseph emphasizes that he's "not a struggling artist, but an artist who struggles"—facing the same challenges as everyone else.Want to support the ministry that brings you music with messages like Joseph's? Consider giving during Joy FM's spring fundraiser and help spread the good news that we're all made for more than our mistakes.

Reading in the Bible about how God created us after His image brought smiles to the faces of our homeless friends one day at a local park. Some times we need a reminder that we are the only thing in creation God created after His image, and that He sent His Son to save us and restore His image in us, which sin distorted.
