Are fist bumps still a thing? Gio asks people to stop sending him clips of the male Vikings cheerleader. Enough already.
Topics included: NJ's July gambling revenue, high drink prices in Vegas/California, Jordan Davis as the new face of Cracker Barrel, potential Cracker Barrel locations, the surprising persistence of handshakes post-COVID, a Jerry Jones documentary clip, the Yankees' 9 home run win against the Rays, Gio's request to stop receiving the male Vikings cheerleader video, Hurricane Erin's effects on the Outer Banks, and a list of least attractive male hobbies.
Ryan Detrick, chief market strategist at the Carson Group, says that he expects the stock market to go through "a 4% to 6% normal, mild pullback" in short order, a downturn that he says is likely to be good for the market, helping it get ready to benefit from positive economic news and an eventual cut in interest rates. Detrick says that he expects developed Europe to remain strong, and he believes investors who are heeding market worries should rebalance their portfolios to get back onto their plan, because diversification pays off when a market is touchy about headline events. David Trainer, founder and president at New Constructs, says that while warm Krispy Kreme donuts may make people happy, the company's stock — which he has warned about since it went through its IPO in June 2021 — is stale. He says that this is a meme stock with a negative economic book value and real potential to go to zero. Tom Martin, senior portfolio manager at Globalt Investments, brings his disciplined, earnings-driven approach to stocks to the Market Call.
Pastor Sergio wraps up this series telling us how the people of God are the 2nd stumbling block. We are all living stones, don't become a stumbling block! We can't stumble on living stones and get off the hard road. We have to get rid of excuses for why we don't obey God. We have to take extreme ownership of our obedience! The fear of God will keep you on the path. We cannot cause others to stumble. We can't profess to be sheep but really be a vicious wolf. Stumbling blocks exist in the church, we can't be naïve to this. We have to have proper expectations for people. We also cannot run from ourselves! We have to get ourselves our of the way and live a Spirit led life. We can't just listen to our heart and get our feelings hurt, the heart is wicked. We have to walk in love and forgiveness to make it on the road! When someone hurts us, we have to love them and forgive them. Don't leave the church because of someone else's actions. We can't run, we have to work it out. Unforgiveness produces torment in this life, and in the life to come! Stay close to Jesus. We can't let the tormenters come into our life from unforgiveness!

We attempt to recall some of the major lessons and rules we learned as a kid. Pepper tells the tale of the time he experimented with his first electrical outlet. Dylan claims the biggest rule he learned as a kid was not to run with scissors. You can't run if you're a firefighter? We talk zits and bumps. Pepper prepared the most shameful smoothie he's ever eaten and doesn't regret a thing.

In this week's powerhouse episode, Lisa welcomes Tracey Lundell. Together, they explore the complexities of financial empowerment for women, particularly during significant life transitions.
I've always been a planner. I like routines and knowing what to expect. My dad however, liked to change things up. I remember as a kid, driving home after being in town. From my perspective, there was a 'right' way to get home. But dad took a different route. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Home" he replied. "But this isn't the way home, " I said. He responded gently, "We're taking the scenic route." It wasn't the route I expected, but he was doing the driving. The journey of being a Christ-follower is a lot like traveling the 'scenic route.' We think we know the way to get where we want to go, but God has a different path for us to travel. Following Him means surrendering our plans, our right to call the shots and going where He leads - even if the road is unfamiliar or intimidating. Pastor Sergio continues this series talking to us about how we have to not get offended when Jesus isn't what we expected. We are made righteous by Jesus, then we are to go and serve whole-heartedly. We don't earn our salvation, it's earned by faith. Jesus preached to everyone, they got offended, then they crucified him. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever! Jesus tells us what it means to be a Christian in the Bible, we have to read the Bible. If you don't bear your cross, you can't be Jesus' disciple! To follow Jesus it requires self denial, willingness to suffer and to even die for His sake. We give glory to God with obedience! We can't praise Him with our lips, then live in sin and not be obedient. If we don't deal with our sin, our sin will deal with us!

Pastor Sergio continues this series talking about why we don't have the authority to change the road Jesus has us on. We cannot be a disciple until we change. We have to want change and to have a new life. The first bump in the road is Jesus! Jesus was a 'stumbling block'. We have to be willing to lay down our lives for Him! Jesus is offensive to the lost people. Jesus is the rock of offense! He never changed His truth, we don't get to either! The Jews were offended and they nailed Him to a cross. He made salvation available to everyone and they killed him. Jesus doesn't play political games. He brought a new Kingdom, a Kingdom of faith. Those who reject Jesus will stumble and fall. Those who accept Jesus will prevail! We have to love Jesus more than everything. When we get saved, we give up the right to ever be offended again. We cannot be offended by the Word of God!

Open a Bible to Galatians 3 as Pastor Obie explores the "bumps in the road" that lead us to the Lord.
Pastor Sergio starts his new series talking to us about why we have to walk on the road of redemption from the blood of Jesus that gave us salvation. When we've been washed in His blood, there are fruits and actions that follow. Only those who walk in God's ways will walk on this road. Walking with God is not easy! Church attendance along doesn't save us and put us on this road. In order to be on the highway to Holiness, it comes down to our decisions. He talks to us about what the path is on this road and the 4 levels of maturity come into play. These are all stops on the road! The road that we are on is the narrow and hard road. The church over the past 20 years has tried to make the hard road, easy. If your Christian walk has been easy, you're not on the right road! If we're going to follow Jesus, we have to do it His way. The point of salvation is sacrifice and what I lay down for him. Following Jesus, you don't get to do want to do with who you want to do it with.

This episode kicks off lightheartedly with a humorous dive into how Americans rack up thousands of minor injuries over a lifetime—scrapes, cuts, and all—with a poll revealing Band-Aid habits, parental duties, and even “tough guy” reluctance to wear floral-patterned first aid. But the tone shifts fast as Tara tears into a Senate budget bill packed with wasteful spending and shocking provisions. From restoring subsidies that benefit China's green tech, to allowing taxpayer-funded sex changes and gutting Medicaid restrictions for illegals, she slams the GOP's Lindsey Graham for caving on key conservative issues. A mix of everyday relatability and explosive political commentary, this show exposes how little injuries compare to the self-inflicted wounds of Washington's broken leadership.

July 1967: two young men driving along an Ohio road late one night encountered an object giving off an intense blue white glow. Their car apparently struck the object as it lifted away from the ground. Samples of a metallic substance, believed to be from the UFO, were retrieved the following morning by one of the witnesses. He later had two sets of strangers knocking at his door, the latter demanding the samples and threatening his family.Subscribe to Bite Sized UFOs on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@bitesizedufosPlease take a moment to rate and review us on Spotify and Apple.Book Ryan on CAMEO at: https://bit.ly/3kwz3DOPatreon: http://www.patreon.com/somewhereskiesByMeACoffee: http://www.buymeacoffee.com/UFxzyzHOaQPayPal: Sprague51@hotmail.comDiscord: https://discord.gg/NTkmuwyB4FBluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/ryansprague.bsky.socialTwitter: https://twitter.com/SomewhereSkiesInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/somewhereskiespod/Tik Tok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ryansprague51Order Ryan's new book: https://a.co/d/4KNQnM4Order Ryan's older book: https://amzn.to/3PmydYCStore: http://tee.pub/lic/ULZAy7IY12URead Ryan's articles at: https://medium.com/@ryan-sprague51Opening Theme Song by SeptembryoCopyright © 2025 Ryan Sprague. This week on The Mother Daze, we're two little sickies sniffling our way through the chaos. There's some diarrhea (because of course there is), more Slim Shady dreams, Britney dance moves, and all the usual unfiltered real talk. Teresa's hit the 25-week mark and may have tried to sneak a peek for any signs of baby bits , while Sarah—9 months pregnant and unstoppable—went to a bowling party and annihilated everyone in sight. We're diving into old wives' tales about gender predictions based on your hands (yep, apparently that's a thing), plus a deep spiral into the nesting vortex—baby clothes galore! It's messy and wild, as per the norm. Resource links: Oso & Me Sapling Child SUMMER and STORM Grown This episode is proudly sponsored by Hungryroot, Storyworth and OSEA!
