The Morning Cruise Daily Highlights
The Morning Cruise Replay podcast is an absolute delight to listen to. As a devoted fan of the radio station and the morning crew, Dave, Bill, and Carmen, I cannot express enough how much joy this podcast brings me. Not only are they incredibly funny and entertaining, but they also bring a biblical perspective and provide valuable information. I am eternally grateful for this podcast as it has become a constant companion in my daily routine.
One of the best aspects of The Morning Cruise Replay podcast is the chemistry between Dave, Bill, and Carmen. Their banter and camaraderie create such a dynamic and engaging atmosphere that keeps listeners hooked from start to finish. They effortlessly weave humor with insightful discussions on biblical topics, making each episode truly enjoyable. Additionally, their ability to connect with their audience is commendable as they address current events with compassion and understanding.
However, one of the drawbacks of this podcast is its limited selection. While The Morning Cruise Replay offers replays of past episodes for dedicated fans like myself who miss out on the live show due to various reasons, it would be fantastic to see other shows like The Jayar Show get reruns available as well. This would provide even more options for listeners who have different preferences or are interested in hearing different voices within the Christian broadcasting community.
In conclusion, The Morning Cruise Replay podcast has undoubtedly become an essential part of my daily life. It brings laughter, inspiration, biblical wisdom, and a sense of community that I cherish deeply. The dedication and hard work put in by Dave, Bill, and Carmen are evident in every episode, making them standout personalities in the world of Christian morning shows. Although there may be room for improvement in terms of diversifying the content available for replay, I am immensely grateful for what this podcast has brought into my life.

It's our last show of 2025 as we'll be playing 100 hours of Christmas music next week and then Dan Brodie will be filling in for us until we return on January 5, 2026. It has been a full year of highlights on The Morning Cruise this year. Carmen got the show started with a scary story of an Australian skydiver that got his reserve parachute caught on the tailwing of the aircraft when he jumped recently. Next time, he'll be more measured in his judgment of how far to jump! Dave...

At the urging of wearing a stocking cap from "someone close to him", Dave went and got a haircut. Movies at Christmas time are a great family activity. You'll want to see the new animated David movie and you might be surprised by the guy who is the voice of David in the film. One way we help you get up and ready for Christmas is our Birth of Jesus montage. You'll be able to fill your stocking with quite a bit if you win our Miracle On Your Street contest. Did you ever...

Dave and Carmen have gotten rid of most of their germs and returned to the show today. While they were under the weather, a man famous for dancing with an umbrella turned 100. Dave had a little trouble getting going this morning and stained his white sweatshirt. Bill got an idea from Carmen's office for a last minute Christmas gift for coffee lovers. Carmen shared the origin story, or 'germination of the ideas that led to' the Christmas tree and decorations. Bill gave...

With Dave and Carmen still out, Bill asked Candice to join him on the show to talk about all things Christmas. We discussed the arrival and mystery of advent, cleaning the house in anticipation of guests, Christmastime breakups, strange Christmas traditions, the condition of Jason Gray's son, a new animated David movie coming out Friday, some remodeling plans for the Home Alone house and Candice's plan for Christmas. 00:32 Candice is here 03:11...

Dave and Carmen were out today so Michelle came in to keep Bill company and we talked a lot about the awe of Advent as well as some awe-inspiring performances from Phillip Rivers, the Wonderland Circus and Remi, the winner of for King & Country's Little Drummer Boy Contest. 00:32 Phillip Rivers 03:19 Michelle in 05:24 Second Advent coming 09:04 Experiences as gifts 14:04...

With the holidays in full swing, Krispy Kreme is commemorating the holidays with a collab with the Peanuts cartoon and specially designed donuts. Carmen may be marking down January 1 as the day she goes back to being "sugar-free". An Advent devotional is a great way to mark the Christmas season and Louie Giglio's "Waiting Here For You" has been a great addition for us. Carmen recently had the chance to speak with a group and share her testimony, marking her faith journey. Jules...

Advent is a chance to put our faith on full display. And Louie Giglio's Advent devotional, Waiting Here For You is a great way to start. If you are looking to deepen your faith in 2026, we've got a few yearlong devotionals to recommend. The ultimate showman, Nik Wallenda, stopped by this morning to tell us all about this year's Wonderland Circus, happening now in Sarasota through January 4th. The Indianapolis Colts are putting their faith in a formerly retired QB in the hopes...

Advent is a season of possibilities and there were a lot of possibilities on today's show. Dave had an issue with purchasing some gifts online and where to ship to and there are several possible answers as to why the gifts could only be delivered to certain locations. Bill played a "Wordle"-type game by giving us 2 of the 5 letters which opened it up to many possible answers. But there was only one correct answer and while many gave the right one, only one winner could be had. The...

Sometimes in the busyness of the holiday season, you just need to take a pause. One way is to listen to Louie Giglio's Advent devotional, Waiting Here For You. Hearing Frank Sinatra croon 'Mistletoe and Holly" had Bill thinking about the old days when folks would wait to buy their Christmas tree until closer to December 25th. Carmen was listening to her devotional on the way in and heard a name that had her taking a pause to learn more about. If you could use a little...

Bill and Carmen are wrapping up their yearlong devotionals for 2025 but they both wonder what direction they will go in for 2026. Dave wondered for a short time about getting Carmen a t-shirt, but quickly settled on not going with that purchase. Dave and Carmen are both wondering what happened to their teams this year with LSU and Alabama having some down times. Even the Buccaneers put one in the "L" column. But before that game kicked off, Bucky Irving experienced the wonder...

Jeremy Rosado joined us this morning for a little Christmas party on the show today. But before he got here, we talked about the top cities for singles and where they might be ready to mingle. 00:32 Top Cities for Singles 03:23 Singles and meeting places 07:04 Louie Giglio Waiting Here For You 09:10 Getting ready for Jeremy Rosado 10:57 SEC Championship game tomorrow 14:02...

You'll definitely learn a thing or two in today's episode of The Morning Cruise Replay. First off, you've got a chance to have a "Miracle On Your Street" when we pay your rent or mortgage for the first quarter of 2026. If you're a fan of A Christmas Carol, we've got a podcast for you. Louie Giglio shared some Advent insight with his Waiting Here For You Devotional Bill told us about the kinds of people that buy presents for themselves at Christmas. The...

In this time of Advent, you may be looking up to the stars and that bright shining star in the East is actually the planet, Jupiter. Would the idea of a frothy egg in your coffee have you looking up where to find or how to make Vietnamese Egg Coffee? What about an "Aerocano"? When Kevin McAllister went grocery shopping in Home Alone he spent just under $20. If he did that today, he would be astounded at just how much the cost has gone up. "It's Beginning To Look A Lot...

Dave was leaning into social media over the weekend looking for any news on the coaching situation at LSU, when he got a FaceTime call from his granddaughter. He enjoyed the chat but is afraid that some nostalgia is gone when he noticed she lost her two front teeth recently and asked her if that is what she wanted for Christmas. And while Dave was trying to glean any info he could on Lane Kiffin, he came across a video podcast of Bill's brother interviewing someone about the coaching...

We're all back in our places after the Thanksgiving holiday and are getting prepped and ready for the Christmas season. Bill shared how the shows went last week with his guest hosts. Dave told us all about his travels to see family in South Carolina and Louisiana. CeCe Winans kicked things off with her performance of the National Anthem before the Detroit Lions took on the Green Bay Packers. Dave and Carmen spent part of their time last week putting up their Christmas trees...

With Dave and Carmen out this week, Bill has had a parade of guests with Jayar on Monday and Candice and Haley yesterday. Michelle joined Bill this morning. But before she got in, Bill shared a conversation that he had with Candice and Haley during Candice's shift because they ran out of time on yesterday's show. Then Bill had a chat with Jules. Once Michelle got in, there was some reminiscing but also a lot of opportunities to celebrate Thanksgiving from the usual festivities to the...

With Carmen and Dave out this week, Bill turned to Candice and Haley to fill in today. And little did he know that he would quickly lose control. Once he regained control he taught the ladies about the 1700 year old Nicene Creed, they compared screen times on their phones and looked at ways to limit their times. Our kids are learning differently and there are some surprising ways that childhood entertainment and learning are changing. Bill usually brings the trivia to the show, but Candice...

It's a bit of a different week as we look towards Thanksgiving. And with the shorter week, Dave and Carmen are out this week so Bill asked a few people to help him out over the next 3 days. First up was Jayar. And he is known as someone who will sleep through anything. So he chose to sleep at the station so he wouldn't be late. Turns out, he couldn't sleep through the motion sensing light that turned on anytime he made a move on the couch. AI has disrupted a lot of routine things in our...

God's gifts to us are immeasurable. But Ann Voskamp has counted at least 1000 of them. Bill finally picked up her book, One Thousand Gifts, that he has had on his bookshelf for awhile and can't put it down. Nate Bargatze has the gift of comedy. And he may be using that gift to enter into the world of theme parks. Prayer is a gift that allows us to connect with God. Carmen shared an Instagram post from Megan Fate on the 5 ways God answers our prayers. As you consider...

It's always a really fun time when we have Jules in to share some stories. She told us what she is responsible for bringing to Thanksgiving and how a young neighbor tried to prank her last week. It's really hard to believe that an AI-generated song is at the top of the charts. Forrest Frank brought the discussion up on social media yesterday and we brought it to the show today. Bill is thankful for a number of things this holiday season. Today he is really thankful for the glory...

Technology has helped us connect in so many ways these days. It helped Dave's granddaughter connect with him on FaceTime yesterday. It gave young Elliston a way to safely connect with friends. It has put the Bible in the hands of more than 1 Billion people! And it is now giving a space for used Ford vehicles to be sold on Amazon. And through technology, we learned that Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily, are expecting Baby #2! On the other hand, maybe it is the competition that technology...

Carmen switched water bottles to fix a problem with her lips. When she shared that, we learned about another way to fix the issue...anti-wrinkle straws! As we get closer to Thanksgiving, we start to focus on what we'll be making and how we will be celebrating with turkey and all the fixins! Bill started us off with some "Tuesday Turkey Time Trivia". Then we got the details on some affordable turkey dinners this year. Dave turned our attention to gravy and a couple of...

T-Shirts For Turkeys 2025 was such a success that it broke some records. So much so that you might raise your eyebrows when you hear the total numbers! It was also good news to hear that the FAA has lifted the restrictions put in place for the government shutdown. Google Maps has put in some new features that may entice you to use it. Bill is bad at being thankful. Before you raise your eyebrows, let him explain! Our eyes got wide when Carmen wanted us to look...

Our outreach we call T-Shirts For Turkeys is done for 2025. We're gonna take the next few days to rest up before we share the totals with you on Monday. If you know someone who is going through a time of suffering, Paul David Tripp has some wise words to reach them. Even though T-Shirts For Turkeys is an outreach opportunity for us, it also provides a chance to compete against one another and while the Florida stops were vocal about it, one stop in Georgia blew the doors off the...

It's the last day of T-Shirts For Turkeys! We are so grateful for your support with this outreach to those in need in our local communities. We are especially looking forward to hosting our first ever turkey stop at our new home later today! 00:32 New 10-4 rule at Target 05:39 Luisa's customer service 08:20 Last day of T-Shirts For Turkeys 12:46 Jules - 7th-Grade Bible Study group 15:59...

It's Day 3 of what has been an amazing week collecting turkeys and giving out t-shirts. But before we got started with that this morning, we kicked things off with our Midweek Praise Break. This week's songs were New Wine, Same God and Praise! 00:32 Midweek Praise Break - New Wine by Hillsong, Same God by Elevation Worship, Praise! by Elevation Rhythm 02:05 Midweek Praise Break recap 03:45 Carmen's recap of last night's...

We have a lot to be thankful for on this Tuesday as we celebrate Veteran's Day and Day 2 of T-Shirts For Turkeys. So many people have shown up already to help families in need for the holidays. And a big thank you to Del-Air and 1st Franklin Financial for supporting this outreach. We also got a thank you note last night that took us out! Carmen shared Martin's text with us this morning after he stopped by his local turkey stop yesterday. 00:32...

It's Day 1 of T-Shirts for Turkeys and we are out and about all over the southeast collecting turkeys (paper and frozen) along with our friends from 1st Franklin Financial and Del-Air Plumbing, Air-Conditioning, and Electric and giving you a JOY FM T-Shirt! 00:32 Turkeys today 02:02 Cold weather 05:01 Farmer's Almanac 06:27 Turkey Stops and Old Farmer's Almanac 10:43...

T-shirts For Turkeys is sneaking up on us and happens next week! It's a sign of all the holiday happenings as Christmas is already creeping at Martin Manor and Thanksgiving these days kinda feels like it is bookended by Christmas. Just in time to watch ESPN and ABC this weekend, Carmen got the Disney bundle for streaming. We are praying for those involved in the UPS tragedy in Kentucky earlier this week. And Carmen's daughter is traveling to Hawaii for a friend's wedding so Carmen...

39 years ago today, Dave officially started his career in radio. It's been a long road and one we hope to not see come to an end any time soon. We had a long meeting yesterday and it was so long that it was draining for the creative folks on our staff but energizing for the numbers people. The government shutdown has gone on long enough that now the FAA is cutting flights at 40 airports across the country. We also learned today that federal teachers are being impacted by the shutdown...

Being under the cover of darkness is difficult to do with the full moon right now. And it will be even bigger tonight. We've got your bad hair days covered around here now that our Carmen's Crewe hats and camo hats are in. This week's Midweek Praise Break covers you in the midst of the Holy Spirit with Blessed Assurance by CAIN, Goodness of God by CeCe Winans, and Worthy by Elevation Worship. Turning on the TV, it's wall to wall coverage of the elections that took place...

Bill had the experience of walking backwards while out with his wife on a walk. He had heard that it has certain health benefits so he tried it out. Dave hasn't had much experience on his new treadmill as he is waiting for the colder temps to put it to use. Carmen reminisced about her experiences at Six Flags when she heard that one of their locations is closing. As yesterday was National Sandwich Day, Dave found a recipe for a French Onion Grilled Cheese that he would like to...

Carmen's got one of her Christmas decorations up. Dave's gonna link up with family for the holidays and that requires a lot of driving. We all woke up an hour later than we are used to yesterday after the time change. Hopefully we will have adjusted by next week when T-Shirts For Turkeys gets started. For those looking to help in some way with the people of Jamaica in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, we've linked to a few different relief organizations for you. Carmen...

There's a lot going on today. The Jayar Show is celebrating Josh Baldwin Day. Some are celebrating Halloween. If you see someone wearing red today, they may be commemorating Reformation Day. The ISS is celebrating 25 years and we've been celebrating 19 years of The Morning Cruise this week. Jules is not looking forward to the day that her daughters leave the nest. But while she soaks up time with them, she may want to reconsider the time of day she has family outings. As a part...

It's only the end of October, but Christmas is creeping up! Is it too soon to put the tree up? As we talked about the Christmas creep phenomenon, the question was raised about hearing some new Christmas music. Dave obliged with a new one that feels a bit nostalgic (or has some novelty to it as Carmen thinks) from Tasha Layton. Carmen's Estradiol Patch came and she is back to using it after Hitch made a trip to a local pharmacy that helped out. Bill shared some resources...

With 19 years of show material, there's a lot of highlights from The Morning Cruise. And as we finally got around to celebrating yesterday, we had to share a few more highlights today. 00:32 More memories today 03:28 Hurricane Melissa update 05:24 Midweek Praise Break - I'll Give Thanks/ Is He Worthy/ Take You At Your Word 06:49 Prayer 09:00 Denverism 1 11:46...

October 1st of 2006, Dave, Bill and Carmen started working together on The Morning Cruise. 19 years later, they've shared a lot of life and laughter with you. We finally got around to celebrating that milestone and shared some of our favorite highlights over the years. 00:32 Anniversary Show Today 01:43 Steven Curtis Chapman - Moon Over The Nile 09:33 Hurricane Melissa near Jamaica/ Highlights from Phoebe 13:48...

Hitch got ready for the show this week with a few notes on the sheet we use to keep everything straight and had a little jab at Dave, Bill and Carmen. If you listened on Friday, you might have expected an update on Dave's knife set that he had delivered. Well, good news, he still has all his fingers! Jamaica is expecting the worst as Hurricane Melissa continues on a path towards the island nation. Bill expected a beautiful service at the Celebration of Life for a longtime...

We hope to be making a world of difference for many in our listening area when T-Shirts For Turkeys happens. And there's a few changes to the way we've done things including a new sponsor! The country of Nigeria has been experiencing The season of fall is coming in fast and flying by changing the weather (some say for the better...) Our birder, Bill, wanted to see if Dave and Carmen could tell the difference between a few pictures of birds with his Friday Flyday game. Carmen's...

For those in Lakeland, we don't want you to miss it when JOY Worship can be heard on the former signals we had around town. You won't want to miss the best definition of worship from the late Tim Keller. While Carmen was doing her Bible study, she was surprised to learn for the first time that the name Jason was in the Bible. And for those that have a hard time with judgement, you'll want to hear what Josh Howerton has to say. If you are a college student and miss your Grubhub...

Carmen had a power outage last night while she was trying to sleep. Amazon had an outage that effected millions trying to do work. There's good news for those that have had to do without peanuts because of an allergy. Carmen and Pete were outside when they heard the music of an ice cream truck nearby. So they tracked it down for a sweet treat last night. Can we go without a CeCe song for our Midweek Praise Break? Sort of... This week's songs include Thank You...

Carmen chose an outfit today with black pants and brown shoes. Does mixing those colors up work in today's fashion? She wanted to know and asked your thoughts. She's all dressed up today as we have some important visitors coming in for the first time. In last night's matchup between the Lions and the Buccaneers, there was a lot of excitement to see Mike Evans mix it up in his return from a hamstring injury. The excitement didn't last long when he went down with a concussion and broken...

Bill told us a story about a family he came across that had an obstacle in their car engine hindering them from going anywhere. It required the help of the local fire department. Dave told us how one man intentionally made an obstacle to help try and curb his smartphone usage. Dave has also had an obstacle of sorts with a case of golf elbow. He doesn't play gofl but may have figured out the true cause. For those that face obstacles and can't put food on the table for...

Around this time of year, we hear from you that you need to see the new t-shirt design and you need to know where the turkey stops will be. Well, we want to show you the t-shirt but you'll need to wait until Monday to see the locations we will be at. Carmen says she "needs" a new cup. She also needs to study up on her trivia after she failed on a Final Jeopardy! answer from Dave and a riddle from the 1800s by Bill. Jules got a call saying she missed jury duty and she...

We were busy at work yesterday with Dave and Candice filming a video. Bill and Carmen also filmed one but after seeing the other video, Bill wants to work on his video some more. The Old Testament can be problematic for some. We took a deep dive into the problems that arise and what to do about it. Are the pictures around your house a problem to change out when guests come over? Or do you even bother? Bill told us about a problem with cats on the Isle of Cyprus. Dave's...

Bill's granddaughter heard him on the radio for the first time. And many have heard middle schoolers with the 6 7 craze. But one dad put a spin on it to teach his son who the original "6 7er" is. Carmen heard a statistic and found it hard to believe just how many people are afraid of the dark. If you've had an issue hearing us on your Amazon streaming device, there is another way for you to get the right song at the right time. When you hear the songs on this week's...

Do you believe that ironing is a thing of the past? Silicon has been used in cookery for awhile now but Carmen is just catching up to this futuristic idea. Streaming and smart speakers are a sign of the times. If you listen to The JOY FM via a stream, make sure you are doing so through our apps and streams as some third parties advertise goods and services that we do not agree with. Also, make sure you are using the right command on your smart speakers! Presently, what...

There was a lot of praise to be had on The Morning Cruise as we celebrated football, a ceasefire, the Nobel Prize, a successful chili recipe, a basketball-loving nun, a smart toddler, the Savannah Bananas, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Arch Manning. If there was a show honor roll, they would all be on it. 00:32 Weekend recap 03:57 College Football 08:48 Ceasefire, hostages released 12:31...

Carmen didn't mean to stop playing Wordle because she wanted to keep her streak going. As she starts a new streak, maybe she can play while she has her crockpot cooking a recipe for Enchilada Chicken Chili. Hollywood wants to stop the use of an AI actress as it threatens the industry. And speaking of AI, some people have gone to various lengths to have a relationship with an AI companion. And you know when you get to an intersection as a cyclist or pedestrian and you have to...

Key figures in the conflict between Israel and Hamas have announced a peace deal, which is something we've been praying for since it started 2 years ago. Dave shared the story behind Let It Be A Hallelujah and we shared how she has been scrutinized for some recent statements online. But in our conversation we used some sarcasm, and we didn't figure that some would not hear it that way. When prayer is requested for a public figure like Dolly Parton, alarm bells go off for some....

If you like bread, you may want to head to France for the upcoming Bread Olympics. And if you are more of a BBQ fan, Bill highly recommends Dreamland BBQ in Birmingham. If you get a moment of pleasure playing Wordle, you may be interested to learn that Jimmy Fallon is working on a version to bring to your tv screens. Speaking of wordle, Enjoy is a five letter word synonymous with pleasure, but is it a word you start the puzzle game with? We take a lot of pride and pleasure in...
