She stayed with the band throughout the 70’s before embarking on a solo career. She’s a member of both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Her husband and musical collaborator, David MacKay, is a talented bassist. He was a founding member of the Tasmanian Devils and worked with Michael Nesmith before joining forces with Donna Jean in the early 80’s.
