Welcome to Mysterious Universe, mental ninjas! Come with us as we explore an unexplored land. A forbidden “lost world” to outsiders reported to be inhabited by strange beasts out of time. Legends speak of not one, but several bizarre and terrifying creatures that haunt the Ancient Plateau's of the South American Wilderness. Today we are grateful to cover The Mysteries Of Kurupira - The hidden land of unknown creatures that inspired Conan Doyle's Lost World - By Ben Tejada-Ingram. For Plus+, we wade through an insane theory on the world we live on… or IN. Cyrus Teed's “The Cellular Cosmogony” proposes the idea that we live INSIDE a spherical universe, a self-contained, electromagnetic machine where meaning is inherent to the experience. Whether you buy his model or not, this book more importantly challenges you to question the status quo and the hard-baked narratives we've been given since birth. The Detroit Lions filled a key staff spot today. Steve Oliver moves from assistant offensive line coach to tight ends coach. The Detroit Lions Podcast breaks down what it means ahead of the NFL Combine at month's end. Steve Oliver to Tight Ends Coach The Lions stayed in house. Oliver earns the promotion after five seasons in Detroit, heading into a sixth. He played at the University of San Diego. Inside Allen Park, he is known for hands-on work with the tackles. That includes Penei Sewell, Giovanni Manu, and Colby Sorsdal when Sorsdal repped at tackle. Continuity matters for this offense. Oliver knows the room. He knows Hank Fraley and the standards on that line. The move keeps the language and teaching aligned for a position group that touches the run game and pass protection on every snap. Assistant OL Opening and Dan Skipper Buzz One vacancy remains: assistant offensive line coach. Dan Skipper is the name to watch. He coached tight ends and offensive line at the Shrine Bowl the day after retiring from the Lions. He knows the scheme and knows Fraley well. That fit tracks with how Detroit builds staff. The goal is a full staff in place before the combine at the end of the month. Programming note from today's update: there will be a daily show on Saturday, no show on Super Bowl Sunday, and then back on Monday. Stafford's MVP and the Detroit Lens Matthew Stafford won MVP in a very close vote. One ballot for Justin Herbert factored into the margin. At 37, Stafford is the oldest first-time MVP. The award strengthens an already robust career case. Detroit fans remain split on Stafford's legacy. Some still celebrate him. Others have moved on. Today's tone was simple: appreciate the validation and the years of production. His moment on the NFL stage, with family in view, underscored the journey. None of it changes where the Lions are now, but it reframes what he did then. Penei Sewell Misses Protector of the Year The NFL rolled out its inaugural Protector of the Year. Penei Sewell was a finalist. He did not win. The award went to a Bear, a result that stung given Sewell's dominance. By most views, he is the best run-blocking right tackle in football, and arguably the best run-blocking offensive lineman overall. Pass protection tilted the vote. There are tackles a tick better in pure pass pro, and that likely cost him. Sewell is steady about it. Use it as fuel or not, the standard remains high. Elsewhere, former Lions head coach Jim Schwartz resigned as the Browns defensive coordinator today. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #steveoliver #tightendscoach #assistantoffensivelinecoach #hankfraley #danskipper #shrinebowl #peneisewell #giovannimanu #colbysorsdal #matthewstafford #nflmvp #sammonson #justinherbert #protectoroftheyear #jimschwartz Learn more about your ad choices. When words fail and grief feels overwhelming, God does not leave us alone. This Crosswalk Devotional is rooted in Romans 8:26–27, reminding us that the Holy Spirit actively meets us in our weakness—interceding, comforting, and strengthening us when we don’t know how to pray. For believers walking through loss, anger, exhaustion, or spiritual dryness, this passage offers deep reassurance: God’s Spirit is already at work within us. Rather than being distant or passive, the Holy Spirit is fully God—our Helper, Comforter, and constant companion. From the moment we place our faith in Christ, He dwells within us, guiding our hearts back toward peace, hope, and renewed strength. Even in seasons of confusion or emotional pain, the Spirit faithfully prays on our behalf according to God’s perfect will. Highlights The Holy Spirit meets believers in moments of weakness God understands our prayers even when we cannot find the words The Holy Spirit intercedes according to God’s will Grief, anger, and doubt do not disqualify us from faith The Spirit brings comfort, peace, and renewed strength God is always present—especially in seasons of loss Believers are never alone in their pain Do you want to listen ad-free? We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27). When I first became a Christian, I had trouble finding peace due to the grief I was experiencing. Living in the aftermath of the death of a loved one changed me, and I began to struggle with anger. Instead of conducting myself with kindness, love, and grace, I often lashed out or said something I would later regret. If you find yourself in a similar situation, take comfort in knowing you are not alone. This does not mean we are not believers. Rather, it simply means we will face more challenges in growing in our faith. At these times, we need to find comfort in the Holy Spirit. Sadly, many people, including believers, are unfamiliar with the Holy Spirit. They may even view the Holy Spirit as an inferior person within the Trinity. However, it’s essential to understand that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, which means He is God. The Holy Spirit is an especially important Person in our Christian walk as He is our Helper, Protector, and Comforter (John 14:26). Instead of distancing ourselves from Him, we need to draw closer to Him. This is especially true when we are feeling alone or disconnected from God. The Holy Spirit is our friend, and He is already living inside of us from the moment we place faith in the Lord (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 6:19). For all eternity, the Holy Spirit will be with us. He can give us comfort when our days feel overwhelming and bleak. Intersecting Faith & Life: The Apostle Paul tells us, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God” (Romans 8:26-27). Allow these words to bring your heart comfort today. Through this passage, we see that the Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. Whether we are struggling with our Christian walk, anger, or grief, we can rely on the Holy Spirit. Moreover, when we are too tired to pray or don’t know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us. We might not know what to pray for, but the Holy Spirit does. During times of intense emotional turmoil or overwhelming pain, it can be hard to pray. The Holy Spirit will intercede for us at these times and bring comfort to our hearts. Instead of doubting Him, we can find great comfort and peace in His presence. The Holy Spirit will bring joy, hope, and renewed strength back into our hearts. Dear Father, I praise You for always being with me. Thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit. Please give my heart and soul comfort today. Sometimes I don’t know what to pray for, or I’m too weak to pray. Please help the Holy Spirit to intercede for me and bring my concerns to You. Thank You, Father, Amen. In Part 2 of this CORE teaching, we move from who the Holy Spirit is to what He provides, produces, and protects in the life of a believer. We talk honestly about the state of our culture—and why the “fruit” we all long for (love, peace, joy, kindness, faithfulness) can't be manufactured by willpower or religion, but only formed in us through the Spirit. You'll hear why the Holy Spirit is the Provider of our connection to Jesus, the Seal that guarantees our inheritance, the Counselor who gives wisdom and guidance, and the Protector who empowers us in spiritual battles—through prayer and through the Word (rhema). We also unpack the difference between demonic oppression vs. possession, and why believers can walk with confidence because we are sealed by the Spirit. This teaching is part of CORE, a monthly class at The Connect Church designed to help believers grow deeper in Scripture, theology, and the gospel.Find the class notes on our Linktree page under CORE, “Why We Need the Holy Spirit”: https://linktr.ee/theconnectchurchLearn more about The Connect Church and stay connected: https://www.theconnectchurch.com

Send us a textDevelopmental trauma often forms through chronic, repeated stress during childhood—especially when safety, support, and repair are inconsistent. In this episode, you'll get a clear, non-overwhelming map of what developmental trauma is, why it affects so many areas (regulation, identity, relationships), and how it can show up later as survival patterns like scanning, pleasing, protecting, or disconnecting. In this deeply human and grounding conversation, guest host Sana sits down with Ryan Reichert to explore the concept of Protector Development—the inner armor we build to survive pain, trauma, and relentless life challenges. From childhood adversity and military service to addiction recovery, divorce, and rebuilding life from the ground up, Ryan shares how survival mode shapes our identity and how healing begins when we allow ourselves to ask for help. This episode is for anyone who feels stuck in a valley, questioning their past decisions, their worth, or their future. Ryan reminds us that progress doesn't come from massive leaps, but from small, intentional steps—just 1% better each day. A powerful reminder that strength is not about never breaking, but about learning how to bend, heal, and rediscover purpose. About the Guest: Ryan Reichert is a U.S. Army veteran with 23 years of service, a recovering alcoholic, author, speaker, and founder of Our Protector Development. Through his books, coaching, and courses, Ryan helps individuals turn pain into purpose, survival into service, and brokenness into growth. Key Takeaways: – Protector behaviors are formed in survival and need compassion, not judgment – Healing begins when we give ourselves permission to ask for help – One small step a day can change everything – Routines build stability when life feels chaotic – You are not broken—you are becoming Connect with Ryan: Website: https://ourprotectordevelopment.com/ Instagram| Facebook Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life ? We exist because He wanted us, and He's genuinely pleased with that. Drawing from Galatians 1:10, we unpack why honesty starts to feel dangerous when identity is tied to approval—and why defensiveness is often a sign of an identity threat, not stubbornness. We discuss common false identities spouses bring into marriage—the Performer, Peacekeeper, Fixer, and Protector—and how shame reinforces these roles over time. This episode will help in understanding how being secure in Christ creates emotional safety, not complacency. You'll walk away with simple, practical tools couples can use this week to lower defenses, restore connection, and rebuild trust.

The first images of a "protector" that flash through our minds might be the warrior, the superhero, the movie star physically holding back evil from invading the world…. Our lower school head, Colin Gleason, casts a different vision: the benevolent king, the merciful brother, the knight at vigil in the sanctuary. Yes, our role as fathers is to protect—most often through a steady presence that communicates security to our children. When we do our job well, they can live with confidence. In his talk from the Fatherhood Conference last fall, Colin identified five battlegrounds for establishing this kind of security, most of which are in our own homes. Donald Trump flipped off a Ford worker who yelled “pedophile protector” during a Detroit plant tour, triggering viral backlash tied to Epstein-file suspicions while the White House called the gesture “appropriate.” The Ford worker who heckled Trump over Epstein ties was suspended, says he has no regrets, fears political retaliation, and has already raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations. A Florida gubernatorial candidate proposed a 50% “sin tax” on OnlyFans models—calling them “whores”—only to be publicly shredded by star creator Sophie Rain, who accused him of hypocrisy and clout-chasing. Actor Timothy Busfield surrendered on child sex abuse charges involving two young actors, denied all allegations, and now faces a criminal case despite a prior studio investigation finding no corroborating evidence. Matthew 6:9-131. START WITH WHO GOD IS, NOT WHAT YOU NEED"Prayer doesn't start with your problems—it starts with God's perfection."Starts with Our Father (intimate)Not "Dear Sir" or "Almighty Judge" or "Distant Creator." Father. But notice: He doesn't just say "my Father"—He says "OUR Father." Prayer is never just about you. You're part of a family. When you pray, you're praying with millions of other sons and daughters. In Heaven (Close but transcendent)"Hallowed be your name."To "hallow" something means to treat it as holy, set apart, sacred. Jesus is saying, "Before you ask God for anything, WORSHIP HIM FOR WHO HE IS"Application:Most of us pray like this: "God, I need this. God, fix that. God, help me. Amen.""Worship recalibrates your heart before you ever open your mouth."When you start with "hallowed be your name," you're reminding yourself:God is bigger than your problemGod is wiser than your planGod is more loving than you can imagineGod does not need buttered up… He doesnt need our affirmation. This part is for you"Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.""Prayer isn't about getting God on board with your plans—it's about getting you on board with His."After worship comes surrender."Your kingdom come."A kingdom is wherever a king rules. Jesus is saying, "God, let Your rule and reign expand. Let Your authority be recognized. Let Your kingdom advance.""Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."In heaven, God's will is done perfectly, immediately, joyfully. No resistance. No delay. No compromise. This is where prayer gets dangerous. Because when you pray "Your will be done," you're giving God permission to:Close doors you wanted openOpen doors you wanted closedTake you places you didn't plan to goUse you in ways you didn't expect"'Your will be done' is the most powerful—and most terrifying—prayer you can pray."We want to pray, "God, bless my plans." But Jesus teaches us to pray, "God, I surrender to Your plans."We want to say, "God, make my life comfortable." Jesus says, "Pray that God's kingdom would come—even if it costs you something."Question for Reflection:What would happen if you actually meant it when you prayed, "Your will be done"? What would you have to release? What would you have to trust God with?"Give us today our daily bread." "Anxiety lives in tomorrow. Faith lives in today."But Jesus says, 'Nope. Daily bread. Every. Single. Day.'Why? Because God wants you to wake up every morning and say, 'I need You today.' Not 'I needed You last Tuesday and I'm still running on that.'""Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." "You can't receive what you refuse to release."After dependence comes forgiveness—and this is where it gets uncomfortable."Forgive us our debts..."We've all sinned. We've all blown it. We've all hurt God, hurt others, hurt ourselves. We all have a debt we can't pay."...as we also have forgiven our debtors."Wait. What?Jesus just made your forgiveness conditional. He's saying, "God will forgive you the way you forgive others."This is non-negotiable. Matthew 6:14-15,The prayer ends with a battle cry."Lead us not into temptation...""...but deliver us from the evil one."You wouldn't walk through a minefield alone. You wouldn't go into a warzone unarmed. So why do you think you can fight spiritual battles without God's help?Prayer is how you call in reinforcements. Prayer is how you access divine protection. Prayer is how you say, "God, I'm in over my head. I need you to fight for me.""The battle is real, but so is your Protector."1 Corinthians 10:13God will make a way. He will provide escape routes. He will deliver you."Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name."2. SURRENDER YOUR AGENDA TO GOD'S PURPOSE.3. DEPEND ON GOD FOR TODAY, NOT TOMORROW4. RECEIVE FORGIVENESS AND RELEASE OTHERS5: ADMIT YOU CAN'T WIN THIS BATTLE ALONE.

Family Matters Ch. 15Still in Ors Themar, the party finishes a short rest and prepares to escape, quickly realizing that leaving the city may be as dangerous as entering it. They navigate tight passages, dispel glyphs, and move with hushed precision, managing to avoid further combat and finally put distance between themselves and the city before making camp for the night. During watches, they process the weight of what they witnessed. Shanks thanks Yurik for the rescue, concerns are raised about Ors Themar's implications for Nakoroa, and the group reflects on how dire the situation may be.During the watches, deeper conversations unfold. Turk and Glad discuss Glad's fallout with The Protector, while Arguile admits he initially believed Yurik was the threat his mother, Dorna, was facing. Galahad and Shanks speak candidly about fear, death, how Galahad's aura functions, and a new potion Shanks has been developing. By morning, Shanks discovers a small copper coin and a raven's feather, an ominous sign, while Arguile notices the stone's count has dropped to two. Alarmed, the group breaks camp and heads back toward the city with urgency, stopping one last time at the now-empty field where the cursed cabin once stood. Overnight, the stone drops further, ticking down from 0.5 to 0.1 as they approach.Upon entering the city, a shepherd informs Yurik that Shepard Miles has summoned them to their usual meeting place. Before going, they detour to Yurik and Dorna's home, only to find it empty as the stone finally reaches zero. As Yurik struggles to understand where Dorna could be, questions arise about his connection to Shepard Miles. Shanks realizes Arioch has been manipulating events behind the scenes all along, and when Galahad asks about Yurik's sword, Yurik reveals it was given to him by Shepard Miles. Recognizing the urgency, Shanks insists they leave immediately, and as they rush to confront Shepard Miles, the group identifies Yurik's blade as Tempest's Edge. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage!Theme Music is written and performed by EfflorescenceMixed by Thomas Lapierre IIITitle Card by Pierce GraphicsCheck out the show at themedusascascade.com Hosted on Acast. There's greed… and then there's the nauseating greed of profiteering corporations that make a killing – literally – by knowingly contaminating people's water, air, land, and families.Such rank, moral corruption is hard to fathom... but it's not hard to find. For one breathtaking example, consider Freeport-McMoRan.This global mining behemoth is one of America's most aggressive spoliers of land, air, water, and health – including from its sprawling copper smelter near Phoenix, Arizona. This operation is a major spreader of lead pollution, a neurotoxin that's particularly harmful to children, causing pain, seizures, and learning disabilities. But wait, where's our Environmental Protection Agency? Good question. In fact, until last year, EPA was requiring Freeport to install technology to cut those poisonous emissions. The giant squealed like a stuck pig, though, crying that the $60 million cost for the lifesaving equipment was too “burdensome” – even though that wouldn't even be a drop in Freeport's $2-billion-a-year bucket of profits.Sure enough, in October, Trump's new EPA honcho rushed to provide pollution protection. Not for the children, but for the polluter! Indeed, Trump's corporate-coddling agency “super-streamlined” the regulatory process by essentially eliminating it – no public hearing required, no presentation of facts, to chance for victims to object. All Freeport had to do was send an email requesting regulatory relief, and – BAM! – Trump promptly exempted its Arizona smelter from having to clean up its act.Not only is this “free pass to pollute” a blunt proclamation of corporate rule, it also expresses Trump's deep contempt for working-class people. Imagine if that smelter was in Florida, poisoning the elites in his Mar-a-Lago resort. Then, he'd jump on it like a gator on a poodle.Do something! The Environmental Defense Fund was one of the primary organizations working on the Freeport-McMoRan issue; they've launched a Trump EPA Pollution Pass map that shows you all the places that have applied for presidental exemptions from pollution laws. THE POLITICS OF TRIBUNES AND REFORM Colleague Douglas Boin. Boin details the divide between the Optimates and Populares. He explains how Clodia and her brother Clodius used the office of Tribune—the "people's protector" with veto power—to enact reforms. In this episode, they reveal how ideas meet identity before logic, introducing two of the eight core competency identities that run every workplace: The Solver and The Protector. You'll learn how to read these identity patterns in meetings, frame your ideas for alignment instead of resistance, and move conversations forward without conflict. By the end, you'll know why competence alone stops working — and how to communicate in a way that gets real traction.
