This week is a new Q&A and Photo challenge episode and I invited French Architectural photographer Michael Muraz as a guest co-host.
Our guest for this week, Michael Muraz, is an award-winning commercial and fine art architecture photographer based in Toronto, Canada. Originally an engineer, Michael now works with clients like architects and interior designers, documenting buildings and spaces. When he’s not shooting for commercial clients, he’s traveling to photograph architecture and cityscapes around the world. Michael is always looking for the perfect shot, showcasing some of the most beautiful buildings and skylines in the world.Michael was born in France, in the heart of old Europe, which has an immense heritage of ancient architecture, yet he has a passion for modern architecture and recently moved to Toronto. We were wondering whether he was terminally bored with medieval castles, so we had to ask him.Our question lead to a conversation about architectural photography, leaving a full time job to pursue a career in commercial photography, his favorite cities to shoot in, how to handle issues of copyright when photographing famous buildings, and more.Duration 41m 14s.Music for this episode: “Zanzibar” Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/Links* Another Angle* Architecture Photography Unfolded: Toronto 2017* Ugo Cei Photography* Photo Enrichment* “Simple Marketing Strategies for Photographers”* Tour Organizer TrainingPhotos by Michael See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
In this episode, Michael Novo sits down with Chicago’s Angie McMonigal (http://angiemcmonigal.com) and Toronto’s Michael Muraz (http://anotherangle.eu) during the Out of Chicago Conference. Despite both being architectural photographers, Angie and Michael focus on vastly different subjects. Angie focuses on the fine, abstract details on both the exteriors and interiors of buildings. Michael, on the other hand, focuses on cityscapes as well as commercial exteriors and interiors. Angie and Michael discuss their collaborative on-the-street workshop at the Out of New York Conference this October, focusing on skyline and detailed architectural photographs. They’ll also be teaching their own classes prior to the workshop. You can find out more at http://outofnewyork.com. Both photographers recommend getting ready for a shoot as well as their favorite gear. Angie will also be joining Chris Smith for an upcoming On the Water Architecture Workshop on August 28.
