In this episode, I sit down with Chris Smith, VP of Product at C&R Software to discuss what goes on in collections around the rest of the world.  I spend almost all my time looking at the U.S. market, and Chris is exactly the right person to tell me what I'm missing. We start with why innovation in collections tends to be powered by friction. Markets without reliable infrastructure had no choice but to go digital fast (the U.S. had no particular urgency). From there, we get into regulation. The U.K.'s Consumer Duty asks banks to prove that every customer interaction produces the right outcome (with data). That mindset goes further than most U.S. lenders would expect. One U.K. bank ran NPS scores across every customer touchpoint, and the highest score came from collections. On AI, Chris compares a U.S. and South African bank he spoke with in the same week, finding radically different appetites for autonomous AI in collections. We close on Chris's slightly controversial prediction: in the most progressive global markets, collections as a category may not exist in five years. Mike Arnold is the Nigerian government's worst nightmare. This longtime missionary has singlehandedly shattered its false narratives about, and complicity with, jihadists genocidally persecuting and murdering that nation's Christians.  So, the sharia-supremacists ruling in Abuja and their allies here have sought to prevent Mike from addressing a briefing about this catastrophic bloodletting next week in the House of Reprepresentatives. On Monday's Mark Levin Show, what's happening in the West, and particularly the United States is an unprecedented form of self-sabotage or national suicide, where the greatest nation deliberately opened its borders, imported people from regions who refuse to assimilate, contribute, or integrate, and instead seek to destroy and conquer from within. This is not a hostile invasion, but a celebrated parade enabled by the Democrat Party, liberal groups in Europe and elsewhere, and secularists, and who believe in unrestricted openness. No society in ancient or modern history has survived such deliberate self-destruction, and the United States will not either. When Islam conquers lands, it imposes its faith and will without allowing diversity of viewpoints or beliefs, often eliminating opposition—including among Muslims themselves. This ideology has now significantly entered the United States, where a movement exploits Western values like free speech, freedom of assembly, religion, and due process to undermine and destroy them, while Sharia law in fundamentalist countries rejects these freedoms. Also, Iran poses a severe threat to future American generations, potentially acquiring nuclear warheads on ICBMs and vast ballistic missile capabilities if not confronted now. The regime is currently at its weakest point in 47 years, crippled by Israeli strikes that destroyed its air force, navy, radar, and Russian-supplied air defenses. Why are we negotiating with them?
