We go from Bayside to Angel Grove this week at The Tape Store and cover the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episode "Food Fight" (S1 E6 - airdate September 4th, 1993). This episode is widely known for featuring one of the more historically recognizable Finster-created monsters, Pudgy Pig. However, the real villains (according to Toby and Brooke) are Bulk and Skull who, for no good reason, foment a food fight that totally ruins the Cultural Food Festival, a local charity event that was raising money for the children of Angel Grove.
It's our first Post-Kimberly episode and Jake and Josh watch "Rita's Pita". Listen in for their thoughts on bake sales, the poor man's Pudgy Pig, and some arcade games. Oh great, the dead-eyed pig is back! Grax and Quinn rewatch this episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and see…
Today we are joined by our friend Cameron to welcome very important series character Ritchie to the cast. Everyone remembers Ritchie right? He's your favorite character! And so Handsome! We manage to pull ourselves away from Ritchie briefly for Luke to tell us the Tale of Stone Canyon, discuss the shocking reveal of Tommy's mother, Bulk & Skull harvest the Pudgy Pig for parts, and we wonder whether or not Wizards can, in fact, get horny.
On the podcast this week, Michael and Mat watch the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers episode Calamity Kimberly. It's not calamitous, but it's a surprising amount of fun! Our list of the 30 best monsters Power Rangers monsters so far reaches its thrilling conclusion! And who is the SHOCK number one pick… and why?? "We love the Chunky Chicken." It's not a weird thing to say! You don't understand! He has scissors that can cut through the fabric of reality. "Pudgy Pig is kind of the platonic ideal of Power Rangers…" Mat decides it's time to sit down with the Power Rangers and have a Very Serious Talk about their horrible (and frequent) misuse of the word 'dimension'. "It's inconsistent in its inconsistency!" I can't stress this enough. The single strangest, most mind bogglingly bizarre thing we've EVER SEEN on this show occurs in this episode. I can't spoil it for you, but it's AMAZING. AND SO MUCH MORE!!
