You asked. You waited. And yes... Handsome Hot Husband is finally back. After a little hiatus from the microphone, Dan returns to Casa De Confidence for the kind of episode longtime listeners know and love: part catching up, part behind-the-scenes conversation, part podcast recommendations—and plenty of completely unplanned Julie-and-Dan detours.Julie and Dan catch up on life at Casa De Collins, including the bathroom remodel that started as a "simple" project and somehow became a new shower, vanity, toilet, flooring, washer and dryer relocation, shower door, lighting...you know, the usual home-renovation mission creep. But there's also some pretty exciting news to celebrate.Casa De Confidence is celebrating six years of podcasting and was named Best Podcast in New England in its category by Women in Podcasting Magazine.Six years of conversations have also created something Julie and Dan never could have predicted when they started: relationships with remarkable podcasters, entrepreneurs, experts, authors, and friends. So this week, they're turning the tables and sharing some of the podcasts they help produce—and genuinely think you should be listening to.They talk about Jane Pilger's Binge Eating Breakthrough as she approaches an incredible 200 episodes; Ashley Capel and Jessica Chariton's hyperlocal Real Estate in the Rockies; Natalie Kime's increasingly personal conversations about caregiving, loss, finances, and end-of-life planning on Chat with Nat; Dr. Kristin Cook's neuroscience-informed parenting conversations on momdoctalk; Michele Weston's chronic illness and patient-advocacy conversations on Beyond My Diagnosis; Mary Foerster's Real Estate Connections; Julia Toothacre's career advice on Control Your Career; and Julie's own daily-ish experiment, Brave Moves.Along the way, Julie opens up about the unexpected realities of becoming a caregiver, Dan explains why he doesn't measure life in milestones, and the two somehow end up planning a 16-day transatlantic cruise, debating geography, discussing AI-generated computer screens, and trying to decide between Guinness, fish and chips, and noodles for date night.Basically, Casa De Confidence is Casa De Confidence again. And that's exactly the point. In This EpisodeJulie and Dan talk about six years of Casa De Confidence, Dan's return to the microphone, building Casa De Confidence Productions, the unexpected realities of caregiving, what makes a great podcast, why different voices and stories matter, the shows they're currently producing and listening to, Julie's Brave Moves experiment, creating a life with greater intention, and what's next for the show.Plus, there's a little travel dreaming, questionable geography, plenty of teasing, and the return of the banter.Pull up a chair, grab a drink, and make yourself at home. Get Discounted Dopeycon tickets @ www.patreon.com/dopeypodcast Or Buy them full price @ https://buytickets.at/thedopeyfoundation/2345507 Summary / show notes On this Dopey Tuesday Teaser, Dave records alone while his family is away, cooks what he declares may be history's greatest air-fried chicken thighs and gives the Dopey Nation his complete 420-degree recovery meal recipe. Then Snake from the UK delivers a classic festival disaster. On the way into Bang Face, a rave filled with hardcore electronic music and drugs, Snake removes an enormous assortment of ketamine, MDMA, cocaine, weed, 2C-B and acid from his pants so he can urinate. He fails to put everything back properly—and the entire stash falls onto the ground directly in front of security. After the bouncers confiscate both his drugs and his friend Damon's supply, the pair drink a bottle of Kraken rum and quickly replace everything inside the festival. Loaded on speed, acid and alcohol, Snake gets grabbed by security again. Convinced they're returning to steal his soul, he climbs through a tiny bathroom window “like a spider monkey” and runs across the festival. By the end of the weekend, he and Damon become famous as the guys who continually get their drugs confiscated. Dave then reads listener reactions to the Jason Mewes interview—including theories about why celebrity guests avoid him, whether Mewes thought Dave was named Mark and the audience's collective childhood crush on Jay. Finally, Handsome Evan returns to discuss fatherhood, paternity leave and working inside a state psychiatric facility. The full SHOW —including psych-ward chaos, a crack-and-shit voicemail and much more—is available only on Patreon. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Episode 291 of the Handsome Homebuyer Podcast. When Raquel Latona started out at 20 years old, nobody took her seriously. So she stopped waiting for permission and invested in the one thing she could control: herself. This episode is the story of how that bet paid off, and how she built Casanova Property Group into the business it is today.Raquel sits down with Charles to talk about the early years nobody warns you about, the doubt that comes with being underestimated, and the decision to keep betting on herself when the easier move was to quit. It's an honest conversation about grit, self belief, and what it actually takes to build something from nothing in this industry.

AJ Lovelace and Rob Hill joined me in The Locher Room to discuss the Emmy-eligible independent series Onyx and the inspiring journey behind bringing it to life.AJ shared how he created Onyx from the ground up, why he refused to wait for permission to tell the stories he believed needed to be told, and what it was like serving as the series' creator, showrunner, director, cinematographer, editor, actor, and more. He also discussed why releasing Onyx on YouTube made sense for the series and why authentic storytelling will always matter more than chasing algorithms.Rob reflected on joining Onyx, collaborating with AJ to help bring his vision to life, and how his work as a producer and writer, along with his experiences on The Book of Queer, the podcast soap opera Heritage, and Handsome™, has influenced the stories he wants to tell.Together, they discussed authentic Black LGBTQ+ representation, the importance of creating opportunities instead of waiting for them, their creative partnership, what Emmy eligibility meant to the entire Onyx team, and why they hope Onyx inspires the next generation of storytellers to believe in their voices and create the stories they want to see. After listening, be sure to watch Onyx, available free on YouTube.

“How many people do you think go into a bar and say: ‘I'd like an Everclear on the rocks, please…'?” Looking back, 1997 seems utterly surreal… To put things in perspective, 1997 marked the debut of South Park on Comedy Central, the release of Radiohead's breakthrough, third album, OK Computer, the beginning of the final season of Seinfeld, and (of course) the arrival of Metallica's conclusion to The Loads with Reload. Perhaps one of the most surreal (and tragic) parts of 1997 was the time a bunch of children in a band called Hanson went viral with a song called MMMBop while a lesser known, criminally underrated, and FAR SUPERIOR band (with an extremely similar sounding name, consisting of former members of Helmet & Quicksand) called Handsome released their one (and only) album, Handsome, earlier that same year. Sometimes life is just too weird and utterly unfair… It's time to discover the power of “a better magical piece of paper” that is not a college degree and understand that whenever someone uses the term ‘dating' that “we know exactly what they're talking about”. Find out who “stayed metal the whole time”, who was “chuggin' the D”, and who wasn't going to metal shows “unless it was Metallica” when you JOIN US as we go back in time almost 30 years with THE CLASS OF 1997. The Dude himself pulls up to Episode 288. Charles sits down with the founder of Dude's Gourmet to talk about building a food brand from scratch, why his chicken salad is different from everything else in the case, and what it takes to stand out in a crowded market. The conversation runs from slow braised chicken and pickle juice to the wildest things Charles has found inside houses, including a possible burial ground in a Uniondale basement.
