It is night 4 of the 23rd G1 Climax. 5th match on the card. In one corner: The Stone Pitbull. The other: The Wrestler. Each man with a reputation. Each man with something to prove. This instant classic only lasts 12:17 seconds bell to bell, but when it's over you'd think these men had wrestled for an hour. 8 years later, does the shortest match to to ever earn five stars from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter still hold up? Or does it come up...er, short? Huge thanks to our guest Nico Bartoli! (Nothing Box) [Tomohiro Ishii vs Katsuyori Shibata, NJPW G1 Climax 23 Night 4, August 4 2013]

Rob & Zac spotlight Tomohiro Ishii the Stone Pitbull of New Japan Pro Wrestling. They 3 matches.
It's the final match of the self-contained round robin in B Block of the 2018 G1 Climax. Kenny Omega and Tomohiro Ishii both have victories over Hirooki Goto that gained the full five stars from Dave Meltzer, they now go head-to-head themselves as the flash and spectacle of the leader of the Bullet Club meets the no-nonsense Stone Pitbull in a bruising and literally smash-mouth encounter. Lorcan (@lorcanmullan) and Simon (@simoncross3) have a nearly as fraught battle with the feedback issues in their studio hire, but will fight on regardless to provide another episode of discussion and analysis. In many ways we're the real heroes. lmtyspod@gmail.com
The first G1 Climax match to gain five stars, but the first of many as August becomes a hotbed of perfect wrestling in the eyes of one Dave Meltzer. To start things off we've got a quick, violent slice of strong style striking as The Wrestler faces off against The Stone Pitbull and everyone in the audience in the venue and watching at home starts to feel pain in their own jaw just watching the match. Lorcan (@lorcanmullan) and Simon (@simoncross) hope that the second-hand pain won't be too much to prevent them having a natter about the action they witnessed and to decide if they agree with the rating for a match that some may consider the pinnacle of their favourite version of pro wrestling. lmtyspod@gmail.com
Episode 4 brings our journey to its first G1 Climax matches, discussing everyone's favourite Stone Pitbull, Tomohiro Ishii vs his own faction leader in CHAOS, Kazuchika Okada at G1 Climax 26 in 2016. Amongst Paul's gushing over Ishii, we breakdown this incredible match blow-by-blow. Five Stars In The Tokyo Dome is a podcast where we revisit every five star match in wrestling history, as rated by Dave Meltzer in the WON.
