Sermon: ‘Apocalypse Guide for Today' by Pastor Jay LeeBible verse: Mark 13:14-23

Christ is Risen Indeed! Thank you for celebrating Easter. Today Pastor Jay begins a sermon series called SHOOK with his sermon today, Easter Earthquake!

Jay's passion for sharing the gospel is motivated by the mercy, grace, and love of Christ that overwhelmed his life more than 16 years ago. On that day he was interrupted by the love of God while making his way to execute a murder in retaliation for “disrespect”. The retaliation never happened. Pastor Jay found himself and his girlfriend Alanna on their knees in front of a church altar. Today Pastor Jay and Alanna are married and are expecting their 9th child.The immediate years after his and Alanna’s radical salvation saw them planted in the same local church where they met the Lord, for the next 13 years. There they learned, served, and grew under the authority of their Pastoral leadership.Most people know Pastor Jay from his boutique and clothing brand Strght & Nrrw on Laura Street in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. There he curated projects for musicians and helped foster the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of downtown. The store hosted a weekly Bible Study and served as an outreach and refuge for many in the city.In November of 2014, he joined the staff at The Ville Church (formally Image Church) where he shared preaching duties with lead Pastor Matt Jensen, and led all outreach initiatives. Today Pastor Jay take us through a different perspective of the Easter Story. Reading from the account of John, we see the first disciples and how they saw the happenings of Easter.

The Disney corporation is famous for putting “Easter eggs” – things hidden to create joy in those who find them – in their animated movies. Today Pastor Jay talks about an “Easter egg” that he found in Exodus 3, and how the story of God contained in the Creed and in Scripture is the best Easter egg of all.

Today Pastor Jay covers the topic of putting down roots and becoming a part of a church body. Along with this the topic of how to deal with disagreement within the church is discussed.
