The Gospel says that we are reconciled across every divide, including racial divides. This week, both Yemi and Nick look at Galatians 2 where Paul confronts Peter for putting a dividing wall between Jew and Gentile. In a world that can be fractured by racial divides, what does living out the Gospel or reconciliation look like with people very different from ourselves? We were grateful to welcome Elder Ken Burl from Redeemer Reformed Presbyterian Church to preach God's Word this Sunday. From 2 Corinthians 4:7–5:21, Ken reminded us that though we are weak and frail jars of clay, we carry the priceless treasure of the Gospel. Christians can endure suffering and hardship because our hope is not in this world, but in the resurrection and the eternal glory that awaits us in Christ. Most importantly, we were urged to hear Paul's plea: through Christ's death and resurrection, sinners can be forgiven, made new creations, and reconciled to God."We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God." What does reconciliation actually look like? It can be costly, exhausting and hard work, but also a fundamental part of the Gospel. Nick looks at the story of Jacob and Esau to see how God gives us a model of this work in the Bible. Find out more about church at newcom.church
Continuing our Genesis series, Derek Chapin shows us that because God is sovereign over both our suffering and our sin, we can find freedom to forgive, be reconciled, and trust that Christ is sufficient in every circumstance.
'James continues our series by teaching us how we are reconciled across divides. Looking at Ephesians 2, we see how the reconciliation we have received in Christ, drives our reconciliation with each other. James teaches of how we so often put up divides, but it is our identity in Christ that brings us together. Find out more at newcom.church/jesus'
Jesus has taken us hostile and sinful people and reconciled us to God through his blood. Having received such a gracious rescue, we need to be careful to continue in the faith, unmoved by the winds of false teaching.

Ever since the fall of man (when man sinned against God) in the Garden of Eden, mankind has been estranged from God. But what was broken by man in the Garden was reconciled by God on the cross! God pursued us to restore that relationship through the sacrifice of Jesus. He invites us to be reconciled to Him and then to spread the message of reconciliation to others. What does all this mean? Find out in today's study with Pastor Gary Hamrick.

If God did the harder thing, He will do the easier thing. Paul makes this point with a “greater to lesser” argument: “For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life” (Rom. 5:10). When we are tempted to doubt God's ability to bring about our final salvation, we should remember the length to which God already went to secure it. Paul then stresses that we have “now” received reconciliation, reminding us that our salvation is not merely a future but also a present reality. What should our response be to this immeasurable gift? To rejoice! The Bible commands Christians to rejoice, so much so that our refusal to do so is disobedience.Take-Home Message: I have future assurance because of God's past work.God's past work ensures my final salvation (9-10).God's past work evokes my present rejoicing (11).Take-Home Lessons:Rejoicing is commanded, not suggested. If God did the harder thing, He will do the easier thing.Reconciliation is finished, but I must receive it.

Reconciled
What will Israel do in the face of adversity? God had warned Moses that He would harden Pharaoh's heart, and there would be a confrontation between God and Pharaoh. The clash of rivals plays out in chapter five as Pharaoh shows his unwillingness to surrender his authority to the “God of the Hebrews.” The great question in this chapter is what the people of God will do when facing hardship after initially believing God's promise to deliver them from their burdens. Whom will they serve?
Noah Burnett - 2 Corinthians 5:16-21
Welcome to church on da beach in Waikiki! In this hope-filled message by Pastor Waxer Tipton, we come together to celebrate the risen Jesus and the life-changing truth that we have been reconciled to God. Through the lens of 2 Corinthians 5, we are reminded that reconciliation means more than merely forgiveness; it is the restoration of a relationship. Our sin caused a separation we could never fix on our own, but God, in His great love, made a way through Jesus Christ. He paid our debt in full on the cross so that we could be brought near and made new. Pastor Waxer invites us to receive what Christ has already done, to let go of the sin and burdens that weigh us down, and to walk in the fullness of reconciliation. As we celebrate Easter, we remember that the story did not end at the cross. Jesus is alive and because He lives, we have hope, new life, and a future in Him.

In this episode, we continue our Lenten book study on "The Way of Trust and Love" and focus on Chapter 3: Being Reconciled to Our Weakness. We talk about how our struggles with ourselves often spill over into our relationships with others and how learning to accept our own weakness can soften our hearts towards the weakness we see in those around us. We also reflect on the tension between accepting our littleness and desiring real conversion, how we become more aware of our imperfections as we draw closer to the Lord, and the gift of community in helping us clearly see our lives. This week, we invite you to receive God's love, extend that love to yourself, and then offer it freely to others. Heather's One Thing - Attending the funeral of Francis Bergsma Sister Miriam's One Thing - Stations of the Cross with Our Sister St. Thérèse from Little Way Books Michelle's One Thing - The funness of our listeners! Journal Questions: Where am I experiencing a lack of harmony in myself and in my relationships with others? Do I truly desire conversion? What parts of me are resistant to conversion? Where am I looking at the weaknesses of others instead of examining myself? When do I speak to myself with words of self-condemnation? Discussion Questions: What weaknesses or defects are you wrestling with right now? How is God inviting you into deeper communion with Him in this weakness? How is the Lord inviting you to embrace littleness this Lent? Where is the Lord calling you to forgo constant management of your life and to embrace the mystery & trust of a life with Christ? How have you slowed down this Lent? How has this slower pace impacted your spiritual life? Quotes to Ponder: "If we accept ourselves as we are, we also accept God's love for us. But if we reject ourselves, if we despise ourselves, we shut ourselves off from the love God has for us, we deny that love. If we accept ourselves in our weakness, our limitations, it will also be easier for us to accept other people. Often, quite simply, we can't get along with other people because we can't get along with ourselves." (Father Jacques Philippe, The Way of Trust and Love, Page 48-49) "I am no longer surprised by anything, I am not sorry to see that I am weakness itself. On the contrary, I glory in it, and I expect to discover new imperfections in myself every day.
