Cord blood banking is something not always discussed and I think it's important we educate ourselves about this option to know if it is a good fit for our families. We will chat about private versus public cord blood banking, what does it treat, how much does it cost, and is it recommended? I have some resources listed below which includes Save The Cord Foundation and they have an extensive list of cord blood banks. Today we chat about the history of the pregnancy test. Did you know that frogs, rabbits, and mice all played a role in the development of what we use today? And did you know that at one time women were instructed to use onions to tell if they were pregnant, or visit a "Piss Prophet" to determine the gender? We have come a long way but let us revisit the interesting history of pregnancy tests. Today we discuss birth plans. I found myself including information for you just to explain why things should or should not be on a birth plan. The main takeaways include what to ask about or info to learn before writing your birth plan. At the end of the day this is YOUR birth plan. However, if you want it to be useful for your birth and you then make sure you know what your hospital or facility has available and what your provider is agreeable to doing since they will write up the orders. I will discuss 1) What to ask beforehand 2)What to include 3)When to write it up, and 4)What not to include. I do use medical anatomical terms for body parts so please be aware! I hope you find this helpful and determine what you want on your birth plan. I didn't cover every possibility as there are a million options out there. Please consult your provider and/or doula for more options. Let me know what you think on our social media or email babyblisspodcast@gmail.com.Disclaimer: This content was created by Lisette Saleh. Specifically, 1)What is prenatal care? 2) How often do you have prenatal visits? 3) What does a prenatal visit include, and 4) How to make the most out of your visits.
