Kory and Ben are back with another postgame podcast from Ford Field. The guys discuss Detroit's 44-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys and what it means for their playoff hopes and the path forward. Amon-Ra St. Brown played through his ankle injury, and he was joined by Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs and Jameson Williams in having very big days. Detroit's defense got beat up some, but five sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions helped save the day. On this episode of The Hillsdale College Online Courses Podcast, Jeremiah and Juan discuss how we often reach our lowest point before understanding our need for God before introducing Michael Ward. C.S. Lewis’s writings bring the great questions of the Christian faith to life. Through his imaginative and invigorating style, Lewis answers these questions in ways that are compelling to those outside Christianity and energizing to those within the Christian faith. The universal human experiences of shame and guilt attest not only to the existence of an objective moral law, but also a moral law giver. Christian conversion calls believers to live according to the moral law by first dying to their old life and then rising to a place higher than before. C.S. Lewis illustrates this bittersweet, downward-then-upward pattern of conversion in several of his fictional and philosophical works. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In today's dynamic episode, Reagan Kramer interviews Lane Boyce, a passionate young evangelist who shares her transformative journey of faith. Lane recounts her struggles with identity, depression, and the powerful moment of her encounter with Jesus that changed her life. Layne discusses how her life was filled with counterfeits until she experienced God's love, which led to a desire for change. Through repentance, Layne describes supernatural changes in her behavior, including clearing up confusion with sexual identity, the removal of cursing and desires for substances, all facilitated by the Holy Spirit. She also tells of her experience sharing Jesus in Salem, Massachusetts and how even witches and those following occult practices are searching for Jesus.  Her testimony highlights the power of faith and the possibility of new life through spiritual awakening. The discussion delves into the importance of living a lifestyle of evangelism using our authority in Christ and the urgency of sharing the gospel in today's world, and the experiences of spiritual warfare during outreach efforts. Lane emphasizes the significance of intimacy with Jesus as the source of strength and boldness in sharing her faith and that Jesus has a great purpose for all people and desires no one should perish. Or on the flip side, we convince ourselves that our effort and good behavior are more than enough. This message explores why our efforts can never fix what is broken, and the incredible hope that Jesus offers a grade we could never earn, a grace that changes everything!Chapters:00:00 The Grade I Didn't Earn01:32 Understanding Sin & Salvation03:40 Old Covenant vs. New Covenant18:30 The Ultimate Sacrifice19:41 Understanding Grace & Faith24:58 Justification & Sanctification Explained28:58 Practical Steps for a Faithful Life33:47 Invitation to SurrenderTAKE A NEXT STEP:INTRODUCE YOURSELF

In this episode of the On Adventure Podcast, I sit down with ultra-endurance athlete Lisa Decker, whose story is a powerful blend of resilience, transformation, and the relentless pursuit of hard things. Lisa didn't come from a traditional running background—yet she discovered the world of ultra running through community, curiosity, and a willingness to push herself beyond her comfort zone. What followed is a decade-long journey that includes a 120-pound weight-loss transformation, countless ultras, and the life-changing experience of completing the legendary Vol State 500K across Tennessee. We dive deep into what motivates someone to walk 314 miles in the July heat, how finding the right community can unlock new levels of confidence, and why endurance challenges often lead to profound personal growth. This episode is packed with insight about mental toughness, identity shifts, overcoming self-doubt, and discovering what you're really capable of when you take that first step—literally. If you're searching for inspiration, endurance storytelling, personal transformation, or insights about long-distance running and mindset, this episode delivers. ⏱️ Timeline Highlights [2:15] – Lisa's early life in California, her outdoors-focused upbringing, and how nature shaped her love of adventure. [6:40] – Discovering the trail and ultra running community through Team RWB and why it instantly felt like "home." [14:30] – How she balances 10-hour pharmacy shifts with ultra training, and why walking ultras became her key to success. [17:45] – The unexpected moment on the Vol State ferry that led to forming a five-person pack and transforming the entire race experience. [23:10] – Kind strangers, roadside hospitality, skunk encounters, and what surprised her most during the 500K journey run. [28:40] – Doing ultras while overweight, finishing last, and why showing up anyway built the foundation for her transformation. [36:50] – The mental battle of "head trash," the power of community support, and why being honest about struggles matters. [49:00] – Future adventure goals, including walking the Caminos in Europe and exploring the world on foot. [58:30] – How endurance sports shifted her personal identity, career goals, and even her vision for where she wants to live next.

Edward English grew up between Houston and Ohio in a turbulent home marked by an absent father and an abusive stepfather. Put on Ritalin from ages 7 to 17, he struggled with confidence and identity — eventually turning to drugs as a way to escape. What started as experimentation spiraled into an eight-year heroin addiction that led to his arrest in 2011 for possession, distribution, and trafficking. Sentenced to nearly eight years in prison, Edward served 4.5 before being released in 2016. Behind bars, everything changed. Through faith, mentorship, and personal growth programs, he transformed his mindset and rebuilt his life from the inside out — a journey he documents in his memoir Emersion. Today, Edward is 14 years clean, a husband, father, and commercial plumber in Columbus, Ohio, dedicated to helping others overcome addiction and find purpose after prison. His story is one of pain, perseverance, and the power of true transformation. #LockedInWithIanBick #PrisonStories #TrueCrime #AddictionRecovery #HeroinAddiction #OhioPrison #RedemptionStory #realstories Thank you to DAWS for sponsoring this episode: Go to http://www.daws.org/ to donate, adopt or send items from their wishlist.
