    Episode 8: Twilight Circus

This week's podcast is a selection of works by the mighty modern Dub master Twilight Circus, who will be performing at the Dub Club this Wednesday, April 18. From his heavy lava bass style dub instrumental excursions to his tunes with reggae greats like Michael Rose and Ranking Joe, Twilight Circus is without a doubt one of the top current roots/dub producers out there. What puts him ahead of so many others to me is that his records SOUND good. There is an attention to the tone and vibration of the music that some seem to have forgotten. These discs have a classic style with an original psychedelic edge, and they sound good real LOUD. Twilight always puts on a great show and we are really looking forward to this Wednesday night. The bass will be in the place (and as we all know, SPACE is the place!).

    Episode 7: Freddie McKay

This week's podcast is a tribute to a great, under-appreciated singer--Freddie McKay. His soulful, pleading voice is one of the most memorable and moving in reggae music, and he had big tunes in both the Rocksteady and roots eras of Jamaican music. There are a lot more great tunes out there to discover by him; this is just a little selection in tribute. Hope you all enjoy it!
