Will Alex Murdaugh get his murder convictions overturned? Investigative Journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell recap everything that went down Wednesday when Team Murdaugh and state prosecutor Creighton Waters argued their cases for and against a new murder trial in front of the South Carolina Supreme Court. Despite a performance that can only be described as legally underwhelming, Alex Murdaugh may be closer than ever to getting a new murder trial. To the surprise of no one, Dick Harpootlian used his time in front of the justices to do some good ole boy flirting, telling stories about himself and… Aaron Burr…? Mandy and Liz dig into the systemic rot underneath the theatrics: the two-tiered justice system that keeps men like Alex Murdaugh in the game, the media's troubling tendency to smooth the jagged edges of truth, and why a new trial would have absolutely nothing to do with innocence and everything to do with power, ego, and money. Lot's to cover… Let's Dive in…

SEND ME A TEXT MESSAGE NOWA congressional hearing tied to the Epstein files should have been about truth, accountability, and respect for victims. Instead, it exploded into a disgusting political circus. What happened in that room wasn't oversight. It was disgraceful.Pam Bondi attacked, deflected, and treated a hearing connected to one of the most horrific trafficking scandals in modern history like it was just another partisan showdown. No humility. No seriousness. No sense of gravity, and zero concern plus complete disdain for the victims. When elected officials start behaving like performers instead of public servants, it's not just embarrassing. It's dangerous. Then another story broke that could've sent shockwaves through Washington. A grand jury was actively weighing potential sedition charges tied to sitting U.S. senators after a political firestorm erupted over a controversial video. That is the level this has reached. Sedition charges against sitting U.S. senators. And in a rare display of backbone, several Republicans joined Democrats to block an effort that would have handed Donald Trump greater control over tariff authority. Lawmakers didn't just debate it. They stopped more power from landing in the hands of one president. These aren't isolated moments. They're warning signs. The system is being stress-tested in real time, and the people inside it are showing exactly who's willing to hold the line and who isn't.There comes a point where watching isn't enough. Where outrage isn't enough. Where simply talking about what's happening in this country stops being acceptable. If you're tired of watching this country get pulled apart and you're ready to stand for something instead of just posting about it, Join WOLFWe Oppose Lawless Fascism.JoinWOLF.orgBecome a part of the movement. This week was wild for the news. Thoughts and prayers to the Guthrie family as the search for Nancy continues. We also had more of the fallout from the newly released pages of the Epstein files, plus we try to lighten the mood and interact with our audience on various topics. Take a listen to this week's best of your Conservative Circus.
When Islands of Adventure's Toon Lagoon opened, an “innovative” new show debuted. Rocky and Bullwinkle, Betty Boop, and Beetle Bailey got together to put on a revue filled with razzle-dazzle crap. The one thing about the weekly clown of the week is that the Democrats are always going to serve up a good batch of candidates. This week we have an old celeb who seemed lost, a liberal mayor who doesn't know what she said, and an old congressman who just won't retire. Let's see who took the horn this week.

What if the most compelling part of a show isn't the illusion, but the honesty? We sit down with juggler and creator Jay Gilligan to unpack “folk circus,” a performance style built on concrete skill, visible tech, and a fearless embrace of the room as it truly is. No hidden light booths, no invisible sound cues—just a performer hitting the button, moving the fader, catching the club, and meeting the audience where they are.Jay traces how constraints—touring by plane, school circuits, gym floors, libraries—shape an aesthetic that prizes minimalism without feeling small. We compare the spark of a set in a sports hall, where it transforms a familiar space, to the way expectations can swallow that same set on a grand stage. Along the way, we talk independence versus big-company sheen, why legacy comes from your own name on the poster, and how real-time presence turns glitches and interruptions into connection instead of cracks. The conversation dives into juggling as proof—throw, catch, repeat—and follows that concreteness through sound, light, and staging. We explore handling drops and disruptions openly, building trust by acknowledging reality, and crafting family shows that never talk down to kids. There's a deep kinship here with folk tales and folk music: direct stories, shared moments, and a room that can swing from laughter to hush and back because everyone feels included. Authenticity isn't a look; it's when intention, skill, and environment line up so cleanly that the cables become part of the poetry. If you're curious about making honest work that travels light and hits deep, this one's for you. Dante Micheaux's rich and rollicking poem “Theologies for Korah” is written on the occasion of an infant's baptism, but it's anything but baby talk or bland instruction. Religious figures, rites, and symbols are proffered, not as liturgy or lore to be swallowed whole, eyes shut, but as people, stories, and ideas that cry out to be seen, played with, and engaged with. We invite you to subscribe to Pádraig's weekly Poetry Unbound Substack, read the Poetry Unbound books and his newest work, Kitchen Hymns, or listen to all our Poetry Unbound episodes. Dante Micheaux is the author of Circus, which won the Four Quartets Prize from the Poetry Society of America and the T. S. Eliot Foundation, and Amorous Shepherd. His poems and translations have appeared in African American Review, The American Poetry Review, Callaloo, Literary Imagination, Poem-A-Day, Poetry, and Tongue, among other journals and anthologies. Micheaux's other honors include the Oscar Wilde Award, an Amy Clampitt Residency, the Ambit Prize, and a fellowship from The New York Times Foundation. Send us a textIn this episode of the WTR Small-Cap Spotlight, host Tim Gerdeman and technology analyst James Kisner are joined by Nikolas Bullwinkel, Founder and CEO of Circus SE (Frankfurt: CA1). Bullwinkel previously co-founded quick commerce company Flink, scaling it to a multi-billion Euro valuation before launching Circus to bring full autonomy to the trillion-dollar food service industry. The CA-1 robot replaces entire canteen operations in hospitals, airports, and corporate environments—producing 100 meals per hour with integrated AI, sensors, and the proprietary Circus OS software platform. Bullwinkel highlights the company's razor-blade business model, with each robot adding approximately €100k in annual recurring revenue. Defense applications are accelerating as armed forces seek to modernize logistics infrastructure, with Circus's container-based CA-M deploying in minutes versus hours for traditional field kitchens. With 800,000 meals tested, 40 patents, production partner Celestica ramping capacity, and an order book exceeding 500 units, Bullwinkel characterizes 2026 revenue guidance of €44-55M as conservative and outlines a long-term vision for building a global nutrition intelligence platform.

Another crazy week and a lot of crazy libs. Our three candidates this week for clown of the week hate white Christians, love bananas and rice, and hate teenage girls. Let's see who takes the crown.
Radicals declare national shutdown day to attack ICE because enforcing the law is now considered extremism. Local Phoenix and Tucson restaurants, businesses, and schools have decided to shut down today and we cover which ones. During the beginning of the show, we got BREAKING NEWS that Don Lemon was arrested! The Circus reaction in real time is priceless. Plus, Katie Hobbs calls out AG Mayes on ICE comments, American youth is uneducated even with basic knowledge, clowns, and our weekly Prayer to our Heavenly Father.
Law & Order has come to the Valley. Ice raids at local Valley Zipps locations brought out the protesters, but how well did our law enforcement control the crowd? Maricopa Sheriff Jerry Sherridan chimes in. Speaking of law and order, would you give up more freedoms to make sure criminals got locked up? Answers from the Circus aren't so cut and dry. Plus, Trumponomics is on the rise, Dems organize in the dark, Trump and Walz talk strategy for Minneapolis, bananas and rice, and much more.

This week's story is the bizarre true tale of Leila Davidson Hansell, known as "The Sunshine Woman," and the controversy surrounding her final resting place in Hendersonville, NC.Leila's final wish upon her death in 1915 was to be buried above ground in a unique mausoleum topped with 147 squares of prism glass, designed to let the sun shine down on her remains. For over two decades, her glass-topped tomb became a must-see tourist attraction, fueled by a 1926 newspaper article that confirmed the skeleton could, indeed, be seen through the glass, contrary to the designer's adamant denials. This week on Hafta, Newslaundry's Abhinandan Sekhri, Manisha Pande and Jayashree Arunachalam are joined by journalist and entrepreneur Govindraj Ethiraj. The discussion opens up with the recently concluded World Economic Forum held in Davos. Abhinandan sharply questions the performative nature of Indian participation at the forum, criticising chief ministers for announcing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Indian companies on foreign soil. “We are funding the circus,” Jayashree remarks bluntly, calling Davos a “clown show” driven by optics rather than outcomes.Govindraj also agrees that announcing MoUs, especially with Indian firms, is a misallocation of time and attention, given how the WEF offers leaders “an opportunity to gauge the temperature of what is happening in the world order right now”. The discussion also touches on the much-touted India-EU free trade agreement, which European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen described as the “mother of all deals”. Govindraj, however, tempers expectations, warning that free trade agreements are often narrow and slow-moving. “The first bottle of cheaper Scotch won't arrive tomorrow – it could take five years,” he quips. He further adds, “The red lines for India are clearly dairy and agricultural products… You can't do something which immediately jeopardises your farming lobby. So, if you take away agriculture and cheese, what's left now?”From Davos, the conversation shifts to press freedom in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking on the recent summonses sent national media reporters by the J&K Police, Manisha remarks, “Over the last one year, at least 25 journalists have been summoned by the J&K Police… anything at all can just land you in a police station being questioned, because it's ‘public disorder', you're causing ‘public safety' disorder.”Drawing a contrast between reporters in New Delhi and Kashmir, Abhinandan says, “It's very difficult for someone in J&K to tough it out because there is no insulation. Delhi provides great insulation; that's why those headquartered in Delhi have to step up and protect their reporters who are not in Delhi. This and a lot more. A short week but a lot going on! Things in Minneapolis haven't tamped down, they seem to get worse, even protesting mobs interrupting a house of worship. Don Lemon was conveniently there at that church, and some arrests were made but was that enough? Plus, the Supreme Court was active, James T. makes a rare endorsement, liberals get crazier and crazier, and the clowns of the week. Take a listen at the best of this week of news.
On October 21, 1836, crowds lined the docks of Saint John, New Brunswick, to watch the steamship Royal Tar depart for Portland, Maine - this time carrying an entire circus. Cages filled with exotic birds, snakes, lions and a tiger rolled on board, along with horses, camels and the star attraction: Mogul, a massive Asian elephant, who took his place on the upper deck. Four days later, after battling fierce storms, the ship caught fire, killing many on board. In desperation, some animals were forced into the icy waters of Penobscot Bay, while others perished in their cages. My guest is Jane Parks Gardner, author of The Wreck of the Circus Ship Royal Tar: Tragedy in Penobscot Bay. She shares details on the disaster, and its impact on Maine's maritime history. The Loreboys have returned! Alasdair kicks off Series 7 with the story of amateur ghost-hunter Rosina C. Despard. Her Cheltenham home was the site of one of the most well-documented hauntings of the 19th century... Or was it? Creaks on the stair! A rustle of cloth! A face hidden by a handkerchief! It simply has to be a ghost... Surely? We promise not to end every sentence this series with an ellipsis followed by a question... Or do we? See Alasdair On Tour in 2026! It's only the second week of the year, and the news cycle is already moving fast. Luckily, Axe and Heilemann are joined by legendary political strategist — and The Circus alum — Mark McKinnon to help make sense of it all. The Hacks discuss ICE's escalation in Minnesota, including the tragic killing of Renee Good, the influx of ICE officers to the state, and the ramping up of rhetoric around immigration enforcement. They also dig into Melania Trump's new documentary, the politics of flooding the zone — and how it can both help and hurt Trump — affordability, Venezuela, and much more. On a chilly evening in early February 2010, a group of friends gathered around the table at a restaurant in a French ski resort. They had been out on the slopes all day and were warming up with mulled wine by the fire. A cell phone buzzed, and one of the friends looked down and frowned. They excused themselves and stepped away from the table to talk. When they came back, they were pale and their hands were shaking. The others asked what was wrong, but they just shook their head and grabbed their coat. They had to leave, right now. Someone they cared about very much needed their help.
