Pastry chef and entrepreneur Dominque Ansel shook up the baking world in 2013 when he created the Cronut (a croissant-like confection shaped like a donut) in his Soho bakery. Several cookbooks and international bakery openings later, he once again has created a hybrid of sorts. His new bakery is called Papa D'Amour, and blends Asian and French baking traditions in honor of his half-French, half-Taiwanese family. Ansel discuses the inspirations for his new bakery, and his latest baking book, Life's Sweetest Moments. He'll also answer baking questions from callers.

With Elijah still in captivity, Klaus decides to hunt him down and finds himself looking for a mysterious orchid with Ansel, who tries to bond and make up for 1,000 years of not being a father. Hayley wants to go after Esther, but instead acts like a real Mikaelson and instead goes after what Esther loves. She recruits Marcel, Cami, and Aiden to pull one over on Finncent, and Cami's all-time manipulation performance continues. Meanwhile, Davina and Koleb work on a spell in a long sealed steampunk mausoleum, Kol reveals his long-held passion for magic, and we weigh the difficult decision of whether or not to ship. Elijah finally wakes up, worried about lingering nightmares, but overall thrilled that other people got some work done while he was out. Finally, we do get a sibling reunion, but not the one Esther pictured.Remember to rate, review, and share, brothers!Follow us on Instagram and TikTok @doppelgangerspodcast!

This episode starts out with a big gag - the reveal of the name Freya, and the fact that she is indeed a Mikaelson! Elijah's kidnapping forces Klaus to have a long chat with Esther, where she reveals information about Klaus's father, but neglects to mention the existence or significance of Dahlia. Speaking of Klaus's father, he turns up in the bayou with the long-missing Jackson, who was NOT kidnapped. Ansel and Hayley help to reunite Oliver with Jackson, so they can catch up one final time. Meanwhile in the Quarter, Cami is suspicious of Finncent and plays him like a fiddle, with an assist from Marcel and Gia. Ansel Health is revolutionizing supplemental health insurance by automating claims processing and delivering higher value to consumers. In a recent episode of Category Visionaries, I sat down with Veer Gidwaney, CEO and Founder of Ansel Health, to learn about the company's journey from identifying a critical market need to securing Fortune 500 clients and achieving an industry-leading NPS in the high 80s. Topics Discussed: The staggering problem of medical debt affecting 100 million Americans Evolution of health insurance costs and diminishing consumer value Ansel's approach to redefining supplemental insurance through automation The importance of product-market fit in insurance products Building a platform-based solution that powers other insurance companies The process of validating ideas in a heavily regulated industry GTM Lessons For B2B Founders: Focus on market expansion through strategic partnerships: Ansel identified that the supplemental insurance market could be 4-5x larger with the right product. Instead of competing head-on with incumbents, they created a platform that enables established insurance companies to offer their own versions of Ansel's product, leveraging existing distribution channels and brand credibility. Build for ownership and adaptability: Gidwaney emphasized the importance of owning their technology platform rather than relying on third-party solutions. This decision enables rapid adaptation to partner needs and efficient automation implementation. They balanced this by building on Salesforce's infrastructure, combining control with scalability. Validate before building in regulated industries: When entering regulated markets, Gidwaney's team first validated market interest through conversations with industry experts, then confirmed regulatory feasibility. This two-step validation process ensures resources aren't wasted on technically unfeasible solutions, regardless of market demand. Prioritize automation for customer experience: Ansel achieved a high NPS in an industry known for poor customer satisfaction by automating 75% of claims processing. This removes friction from the customer experience and delivers on the promise of "the best insurance product is one you don't have to think about." Align investors with mission and values: For products aimed at solving significant social problems, Gidwaney stressed the importance of finding investors who understand and support the mission. This alignment becomes crucial when making decisions that prioritize long-term impact over short-term gains. // Sponsors: Front Lines — We help B2B tech companies launch, manage, and grow podcasts that drive demand, awareness, and thought leadership. www.FrontLines.io The Global Talent Co. — We help tech startups find, vet, hire, pay, and retain amazing marketing talent that costs 50-70% less than the US & Europe. www.GlobalTalent.co

At the ISGAP-Oxford Summer Institute, Ansel K. Brown (North Carolina Central University) examines the deep-rooted hatred driving the global rise in antisemitism, as well as how and why Jews and African-Americans need to resume their cooperation that peaked in the 1960s with the Civil Rights Movement.
Lawrence of Arabia? More like..... uh.... Bore-ance..... of...... um...... A-lame-bia?Never mind! On this week's Sherlock Says, your long-suffering hosts Rachael and Ansel are joined by special guest Rob Ward to watch 1983's Sherlock Holmes and the Baskerville Curse, an allegedly animated version of Hound that has so little going for it that even before cuts the raw audio for this episode was less than an hour long. It most notably stars Peter O'Toole (and by "stars" we mean "he's technically in it, at least in voice if not in spirit") as Sherlock Holmes, and has a kinda cool hound, sorta.I wish this one best of luck on the bracket because it's going to need it.Check out Rob's stuff!robwardcreative.com https://owtheatre.org/plays/season-11/tolkien/Contact the pod!
