I wanted to start this podcast because I felt like I always struggled growing up, and even today. I’d look around and think, “Why does that seem easier for that person to do than for me?” Even though it is unfair to compare ourselves to others, we do it and we all do it. As I started thinking about…

    Season 1 Episode 3 - Chris

In this episode, I interview Chris. Chris is a native New Yorker, now living and working as an actor in Los Angeles. He is a GenX'er, and this is important only because of the era in NYC in which he matured. Chris was raised an only boy in a strict household, with a distant dad and mom, and two sisters. When tragedy struck his family, everything changed, and Chris was forced to grow in ways he never expected. Chris has been through it all. Adopted at birth, along with another sister, he grew up in a household of 5, where no one really talked, at least about what mattered. As Chris aged, events occurred and a secret he had been hiding was revealed, causing a rift that ended in a tragic circumstance. Chris was not derailed for long, though. He looked at the tragedy as an opportunity to take some of the lessons he learned growing up, twisting them into a shape that worked best for him, and then paying the lessons forward. I really enjoyed this interview, and think you will find that no matter what adversity the universe threw at Chris, he ultimately found a way to pave a different road for himself.

Season 1 Episode 2 - Asuka (pronounced Aska)

In this episode, I speak with Asuka (pronounced Aska). Asuka is an extraordinary person/woman. We met as we became coaches, and as we got to know each other, it was clear that she had a tremendous backstory surrounding her culture and family, and how she got to where she is today, on the precipice of an exciting life transition. She is Japanese, but now lives in America. She is a maverick. She is powerful. Most importantly, she is from the heart. And, she learned all of this from her dad, to whom she gives ample credit. Asuka had highs and lows throughout her early years, and now, she has found her true calling, by doing what, yes, by listening to herself.

    Season 1 Episode 1 Chad

In this episode, we meet Chad. He grew up with a dad who gave him two tremendous gifts, but not without a price. Chad and his dad don't talk much, yet Chad and his son do. There's an interesting twist to this story that will make you realize that we do carry some baggage from generation to generation, but we learn as we go and get a bit better about packing those bags a little lighter. This is the first episode, so it's kind of rough. I appreciate your patience and your vote of confidence (and 5 stars for what it will be). Thanks to my friends and family who believe I have something important to say. And, thanks to you for giving my podcast a shot.
