Devotions for spiritual growth Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/pastor-john-van-gorkom/support
We see God at work best when we have a humble spirit.
God is with you in the fire, and He's watching you. He will remove you when His image is refined in you.
It can be easy for us to defend our position when we prioritize personal pleasure over God's truth.
How do we respond to the corruption of sin in our culture, our government, and in people's lives?
Don't fall for a misuse of the term "Christian." Make sure you understand how the Bible defines it.
Our focus on our abilities may actually be limiting our harvest of what we desire.
How do you view life and the pursuit of worth and fulfillment?
No matter what is happening to you, there is hope!
Even when you don't know what's coming, do you trust your heavenly Father enough to thank Him for tomorrow?
Pride leads to destruction, and one place pride lives is in our thought life.
Speak up and shout out the truth of Jesus Christ without fear of that which is weaker.
The joy of salvation will cause us to sing out the praises of the One who saved us.
You can know peace as God knows peace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Sometimes God has to prune us down to a stump in order for new life to sprout up.
God's refining fire is able to burn away everything from your life that hinders the Light of Jesus from being seen in you.
We can learn to trust God more than we trust ourselves.
As followers of Jesus we have the light to bring people out of the darkness. Share it.
No matter how strong the current against you, swim into the sanctuary of God.
Make the promises of God the foundation of your life.
When we trust the promises of God we will experience victory.
Real Faith is placed in who God is, not in what He can do.
Be alert to the slippery slope of spiritual negligence.
Don't mess up the order of faith or yoyu will get messed up.
God has a plan and purpose for your life and He is calling you to it. What might be keeping you from hearing Him?
What comes out of your mouth? Does it shake the doorposts of heaven with praise?
What is it that drowns out the voice of the Holy Spirit in your life?
There's danger ahead, but the real danger is that it may already be in us.
Where you put your roots down will determine what kind of fruit you bear.
When will the promise of enjoying the fruit of our labor be fulfilled?
How quickly we slide away from God when we follow te passions of the flesh.
Don't give up. You will soon enjoy the fruit of your labor.
It seems like we've almost reached the bottom. Is there any hope?
What things or people are you allowing to compete with Christ for your emotional, physical, or even spiritual needs?
Don't be confused. Christ has no competition. However, we allow others to compete with Him.
