Today, we're looking at Ecclesiastes 10:1: Dead flies make the perfumer's ointment give off a stench; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor. — Ecclesiastes 10:1 The Little Things Matter Imagine a master perfumer crafting a bottle of the finest fragrance. Every ingredient is carefully measured, blended with skill, and designed to create something valuable. But then—just one small fly falls in. It decays, contaminates the entire mixture, and what was once desirable now stinks. That's the picture Solomon gives us. A little foolishness can destroy a lifetime of wisdom and honor. It doesn't take much—a careless word, a moment of compromise, a lapse in judgment—and suddenly, the fragrance of a godly reputation is tainted. A Little Folly, A Big Cost History is full of men who built something great but lost it all over one foolish decision. King David—a man after God's own heart—allowed a moment of lust with Bathsheba to bring chaos into his household. Judas Iscariot walked with Jesus, saw His miracles, and heard His wisdom—yet for a few silver coins, he threw it all away. Folly doesn't need to be grand; even a little can cause great damage. Guarding Against the Stench So, how do we keep dead flies out of the ointment of our lives?  ☑️ Watch the Small Compromises – What seems insignificant today can become destructive tomorrow.  ☑️ Surround Yourself with Wise People – The right people will call you out before a small mistake becomes a disaster.  ☑️ Stay Humble and Dependent on God – The moment we think we're immune to folly is when we become vulnerable to it. So here's the question you need to ask yourself today: What “small flies” in your life could contaminate your testimony? Let's pray: Lord, help me to walk in wisdom and avoid even the slightest compromises. Keep me from folly, and let my life be a fragrance that honors You. I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 18th of February 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in the Book of Obadiah 1:3: “The pride of your heart has deceived you,…‘Who will bring me down to the ground?' The Lord will bring us down to the ground if we continue to walk in pride. He says He will do it for our sake. We go to 1 Peter 5:5, and the Bible says God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. God will not stand for pride or arrogance, folks.Do you remember the rich farmer? He had a bountiful crop. He said he was going to build more barns to take in that massive crop, and then he is going to sit down and drink and be merry, but the Lord said, “Foolish man, tonight your soul will be required of you.” It's a dangerous place to be sometimes when you are succeeding because you think nothing can bring you down. Folks, the safest place for you to be is on your knees because you cannot fall any further. When you are on a pedestal and people put you up there, it is very easy for that pedestal to be kicked out from under you. When you get to the top of Mount Everest, where do you go from there? There is only one way and that is down. We need to be very, very careful.We are most vulnerable when we are succeeding. We need to be careful. That is why there are few sports teams that become world champions twice in a row, because the first time they become world champions, they have worked blood, sweat and tears to get there, and then they tap off, they ease off and they can't do it the second time. There is no more incentive, there is no more power, there is no more determination, and that applies to our faith also. We have less prayer times, we are less disciplined, we take things for granted and we become soft, and then we start to wing it but it doesn't work and then the fall comes, and how the mighty have fallen. Don't do it today, keep humble, give the glory to God and keep pressing on with what God has called you to, and He will enable you to stay in that position of success.Jesus bless you goodbye.

Seventh heaven for Notts Forrest, Liverpool pop the Cherries, United are in the mud, Spurs pull out of their dive, and five star Arsenal humble City.This week, Dale, Hemal, and Asher start us off with Ryan and Casey coming in hot from Cookeville later in the show. Dale hustles the boys off the games "nobody cares about" as Asher and Cobalt discuss the inconsistency in teams in the PL. Ryan comes in and we talk about Spurs getting a much needed win, and Casey has to excuse himself with a cheek clencher. Then we get to the game everyone wants to discuss, the Arsenal dismantling of City. It's the win Arsenal needed, and City have never looked worse under Pep. It's a conundrum, but we attempt to unpack it. No show next Monday, as it's Super Bowl Sunday and we will all be watching with a gleam in our eyes, and prop bets in our hearts. The next PL game is the 2/12 make up fixture for Liverpool and Everton, and then the next Game Week is 2/14-16, so we'll be back 2/17 with a recap of that action.Thank you for listening! Be Faithful in Small Things Genesis 39:4 "So Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority." 2. Maintain Integrity, Even in Adversity Genesis 39:9 "There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" 3. Trust God's Timing Genesis 41:14 "Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh. 4. Use Your Gifts to Serve Others Genesis 41:16 "So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, 'It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.'" 5. Plan for the Future with Wisdom Genesis 41:34-36 "Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, to collect one-fifth of the produce of the land of Egypt in the seven plentiful years. And let them gather all the food of those good years that are coming, and store up grain under the authority of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities." 6. Forgive and Let Go of Bitterness Genesis 50:20 "But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive." 7. Recognize God's Sovereignty in Every Situation Genesis 45:8 "So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt." 8. Stay Humble in Success Genesis 41:16 "So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, 'It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.'" 9. Be a Source of Blessing to Others Genesis 47:12 "Then Joseph provided his father, his brothers, and all his father's household with bread, according to the number in their families." 10.
