We find in Vṛndāvana that those who are cowherd boys play with Kṛṣṇa, and they sometimes jump on His back. That's not in the arcana-paddhati. I was thinking about what that means because, according to one's relationship, there's a way in which we can be more casual with people. For instance, I've noticed with my relationships that there are gradations of intimacy in friendship—just talking about friendship. There are friends that I've known forever, we've been through a lot together, and we're like-minded. There's a closeness there that allows us to, for example, make jokes at the other's expense. In other words, you say something to 'degrade' the other person, and they think it's hilarious because there's a channel there that allows that—it's a deep expression of friendship. You know, there are people I could knock in the arm. I wouldn't do it that hard, but kind of softly walking by—like in a kīrtana. You know, if I'm walking by in a crowded room full of kīrtana and I just sort of put my arm around somebody and kept walking, or nudged them... I wouldn't do that to everybody. There are certain Godbrothers, yeah, we're friends, but not that kind of friends. They would be like, 'Why did he just punch me in the arm?' You know, love conquers all. There's a way in which the rules and regulations are there, but then the affection factor opens a channel so that those things aren't considered. Because why are the considerations there in the first place? Especially in the material world, there's a sense of: "Don't overstep your boundaries and violate somebody else's sovereignty," as everyone's envious of everybody else, so you have to be really careful. There are etiquettes that act as guardrails to protect us. But when there's love and trust, as Prabhupāda pointed out, then those guardrails aren't necessary to the degree they were before. So these things are carefully considered. For instance, take the līlā in the Caitanya-caritāmṛta of when Govinda is daily taking care of the transcendental body of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. This has to do with rules and regulations also, because Govinda happened to be..(0:35:47) ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://vaisesikadasayatra.blogspot.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #pilgrimageoftheheart #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
Pastor Ken confronts the pervasive danger of lust in a sexually saturated culture, grounding its urgency in Jesus' radical teaching in Matthew 5 that even lustful desire constitutes spiritual adultery, demanding radical commitment to purity. emphasizes that lust is not a minor moral failing but a spiritual battle that warps the soul and threatens eternal destiny, citing Scripture to show that unrepentant sin excludes one from God's kingdom. The central truth is that saving faith is inseparable from sanctification—justifying faith is a lust-fighting faith that transforms the heart, empowering believers to pursue purity through the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and a deep satisfaction in Christ. The sermon calls for radical, proactive measures: rejecting excuses, resisting temptation by yielding to the Spirit, cultivating spiritual taste through Scripture, and relying on God's promises rather than worldly pleasures. Ultimately, it affirms that victory is possible through faith in Christ, who alone satisfies, and that the goal is not merely abstinence but the pursuit of holiness, so that, as Matthew 5:8 promises, the pure in heart will see God.

In this Faith Friday edition of Morning Manna, the focus centers on John 6:50, where Jesus declares that the bread which comes down from heaven gives life so that one may eat and not die. Unlike the manna in the wilderness that sustained temporarily, Christ offers sustenance that overcomes death itself. This verse sharpens the contrast between earthly provision and eternal life. Rick Wiles and Doc Burkhart explore what it means to partake of the true Bread from heaven, how faith unites the believer to Christ, and why the life He gives cannot be extinguished by the grave. Why I Listened to 2,000 Minutes of Tchaikovsky Last YearWe are living in the age of "frictionless" music. The algorithms know what we want before we do, the dopamine is cheap, and the content is served to us on a silver platter. But as Charles Bukowski once said of classical music: "It washes the crap right out of me."Lately, it feels like there's a lot of crap to wash out.In this episode, I'm stepping away from the "business" of music to talk about the Aura and the Sublime. I'm breaking down why I spent more time with a 19th-century Russian composer than anyone in the Top 40, and why I believe the "smoothness" of modern digital life is actually making us bored, exhausted, and artistically numb.In this episode, we explore:The "Loss of Aura": Why music feels less valuable when it stops being a "hunt" and starts hunting you.The Sublime vs. The User-Friendly: Lessons from Walter Benjamin and Theodore Adorno on why great art should be a little bit terrifying. The Tchaikovsky Antidote: How complex, uncomfortable, and "loud" art reminds us that we aren't the center of the universe.Breaking the Algorithm: Why the most successful artists of the future will be the ones who refuse to be "mathematically certain."If you've been feeling a specific kind of creative exhaustion lately, this one is for you. It's time to stop trying to conquer the mountain and let the mountain conquer us.RESOURCES & LINKS

This sermon presents a biblical framework for overcoming despondency by anchoring the believer's hope in God amidst life's trials, drawing primarily from Psalm 42 and the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 19. It identifies unbelief and a loss of hope as the root causes of spiritual depression, emphasizing that sorrow over loss is natural, but despair arises when it is divorced from faith in God's goodness and sovereignty. The preacher underscores the importance of renewing the mind through Scripture, resisting the cycle of negative emotions by replacing sinful reactions with godly responses, and cultivating a proper perspective on suffering, self, and God's unseen work. Through examples like Cain's unrepentant response and Elijah's breakdown and restoration, the message calls believers to reject despair, confess ungodly thoughts, and daily choose to hope in God's faithfulness, trusting that His joy and peace are not dependent on circumstances but are empowered by the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, the sermon affirms that true strength comes not from self-effort but from abiding in Christ, where hope is not merely a feeling but a divine reality sustained by faith.

The readings for this homily: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/011826.cfmBefore healing the man's body, Jesus heals his soul. The paralytic seeks physical restoration, but Christ addresses a greater paralysis: sin. Sin paralyzes the soul and separates us from God, the source of life. “Who can forgive sins but God alone?” the scribes challenge (Mk 2:7, NABRE). Indeed, only God forgives, yet they fail to see the Divine in front of them. Jesus, God incarnate, reveals His authority not only by perceiving hearts but by forgiving sins and restoring the man. This moment prefigures the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Just as the man's friends interceded for him, Christ extends forgiveness through the Church and her priests. Fr. Chris emphasizes that when a priest declares, “I absolve you from your sins,” it is Christ acting in the confessional (John 20:23, NABRE). Spiritual healing comes first, for sin's weight is greater than any physical ailment.Christ's mercy invites us to rise from the mat of our sinfulness, just as the paralytic stood and walked. Repentance is not mere sorrow—it is transformation, a turning toward God and away from sin. Through infant baptism, God forgives the helpless on behalf of faithful parents and godparents, just as He healed the helpless paralytic by the faith of others. Intercessory prayer is essential; faith shared in community moves God's grace into our lives. We are called to participate actively: pray for one another, confess, and rise renewed. Christ's forgiveness restores, strengthens, and sends forth. The mat is left behind; the soul walks free. By addressing the deepest paralysis, Jesus demonstrates the power of His mercy and the Church's mission to bring all sinners to life.To explore the sacraments and God's work through intercession, visit Understanding the Sacraments (ShopMercy.org). ★ Support this podcast ★

Today is Tuesday, January 13th and Happy Birthday to Julia Louis Dreyfus I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by KIA Mall of Georgia. Former Buford star Zach Smith conquers final peak to complete Seven Summits Man found shot to death at Snellville area home Children’s Museum of Atlanta to debut 'AIM HIGH: Soaring with the Tuskegee Airmen' All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: Kia Mall of Georgia - Sugar Hill Ice Skating Rink STORY 1: Former Buford star Zach Smith conquers final peak to complete Seven Summits In early December, Zach Smith—former Buford football standout turned mountaineer—wrapped up something most of us can only dream about: climbing the last of the Seven Summits. On Dec. 1, he stood atop Mount Vinson in Antarctica, completing a journey fewer than 500 people have ever achieved. And this wasn’t just any year for Smith. In 2025 alone, he also summited Carstensz Pyramid in February and Mount Everest in July. Three summits. One year. Getting to Antarctica was no small feat. After a whirlwind of flights, freezing temps and carrying double provisions, Smith and his team lucked out with good weather, summiting in a week. Others weren’t so lucky, stuck on the mountain for days. Why three summits in one year? “It was about timing,” Smith said. “I was already in peak shape, and my wife and I decided it made sense to go for it.” But now? He’s ready for a slower pace. STORY 2: Man found shot to death at Snellville area home Gwinnett police are digging into a homicide after a man was found dead early Sunday in unincorporated Snellville. It was around 3:10 a.m. when officers got a call about someone down on Saddle Ridge Drive. When they arrived, they found a man—already gone—apparently from a gunshot wound. Detectives are on it, interviewing witnesses, while the Crime Scene Unit combs through the area for evidence. Police say it looks like an isolated incident, so there’s no threat to the public. The victim’s name hasn’t been released yet. Got info? Call detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS. STORY 3: Children’s Museum of Atlanta to debut 'AIM HIGH: Soaring with the Tuskegee Airmen' The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is kicking off 2026 with something special: “AIM HIGH: Soaring with the Tuskegee Airmen.” Opening Jan. 17, this hands-on exhibit dives into the history and legacy of the first Black military aviators, blending their groundbreaking story with the science and wonder of flight. Timed perfectly with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the exhibit celebrates resilience, courage, and the belief that opportunity shouldn’t be limited by race. From climbing into a life-size cockpit to designing their own wings, kids can explore aviation through play. There’s even a Smithsonian companion exhibit, “Black Wings,” spotlighting African Americans’ contributions to flight—from early pioneers to modern astronauts. Running through May 10, AIM HIGH invites kids to dream big, imagine themselves as pilots, engineers, and innovators—and maybe even take flight someday. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: Ingles Markets STORY 4: Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office employee arrested on child molestation charges A former probationary employee of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested after an investigation into crimes against children, police said. It started Jan. 5, when a parent reported finding explicit messages sent to her underage daughter. Detectives with the Special Victims Unit identified 21-year-old Rylee Willis of Stone Mountain as the suspect. At the time, Willis was employed by the Sheriff’s Office but still in his probationary period. Willis now faces two counts each of child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes. He’s being held without bond. STORY 5: Gwinnett County hosting 911 Communications Hiring Event on Jan. 31 Ever wondered what it’s like to be the calm voice on the other end of a 911 call? Gwinnett County’s E911 Communications Division is hosting a hiring event and open house on Jan. 31, giving you a rare, behind-the-scenes look at this critical public safety role. Held at the Police Annex (800 Hi Hope Rd, Lawrenceville), the event includes tours of the 911 Center, live call observations, and the chance to meet seasoned dispatchers. You’ll even complete Phase I of the hiring process—think skills assessments, interviews, and more. Space is tight, so appointments (8 a.m. or noon) are first-come, first-served. Apply online, submit your background booklet, and secure your spot. Perks? A $4,800 hiring bonus, educational incentives, shift differentials, and overtime opportunities. Must be 18+, a U.S. citizen, and have a high school diploma or GED. Details: Gwinnett911Careers.com or contact Investigator Raemie Fransen at 770.513.5565. We’ll be right back. Break 3: EAGLE THEATRE STORY 6: Jason Lane retiring after more than a decade as principal at Mill Creek High School For the last 13 years, Jason Lane has been the principal at Mill Creek High School, a role he never really saw coming. “I didn’t think I’d be a principal,” he said. “But as an assistant principal, I loved helping kids and teachers. Then some mentors saw something in me I didn’t see in myself.” Now, after 28 years in education—24 of them in Gwinnett County—Lane is retiring at the end of the 2025-26 school year. During his tenure, Mill Creek has thrived: academic achievements, 20+ state championships, and a focus on student leadership that Lane is especially proud of. “Our kids are incredible,” he said. “They mentor younger students, run a leadership summit for grades 1-8, and just show up every day ready to lead. I’ll miss them the most.” Lane and his wife, Lisa, have two sons—both Mill Creek grads. Dylan teaches special education in Pennsylvania, and Brady is a freshman football player at Grove City College. As for what’s next? Lane isn’t sure yet. “I don’t know what the next chapter holds,” he said. “But I know how lucky I’ve been—especially here at Mill Creek. This place is special.” STORY 7: Gwinnett senator running for Georgia insurance commissioner The race for Georgia insurance commissioner just got a shakeup—and a Gwinnett County connection. State Sen. Nabilah Islam Parkes announced last week she’s running for the statewide office instead of seeking re-election. First elected in 2022, Parkes is stepping into the race with a clear focus: lowering insurance costs. Parkes has called for an investigation into industry practices, accusing incumbent John King of protecting companies over consumers. “You deserve someone who fights for you,” she said. We’ll have closing comments after this Break 4: GCPL Passport Signoff – Thanks again for hanging out with us on today’s Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share my thoughts on holiness. I believe it's all about being cheerful, thankful, and aware of others' needs. When we do that, we become holy. I think we're already on the right track by being curious about scripture, doing the right thing, and always testing ourselves. Are we doing the right thing?

The Conference League league phase concluded with a bang Thursday night, and we're breaking down every game! Universitatea Craiova was the day's top story for all the wrong reasons. We discuss the series of unfortunate events that led to their heartbreaking elimination, including the Romanians blowing a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 in Athens, a stoppage time Zrinjski Mostar equalizer, a late Sigma goal, and of course, KuPS' dramatic draw at Selhurst Park. That's right, little old KuPS took it to the South Londoners for a period in the second half to dramatically qualify for the knockouts and force Crystal Palace out of the Top 8 and thus the Round of 16 bye. We give our thoughts on how the Finns accomplished such a feat and debate how serious the setback is for Palace. Meanwhile, there was plenty of other Top 8 drama throughout the continent. Mainz and Rayo secured the bye, and a late AEK Larnaca winner launched the frisky Cypriots into the coveted final spot. Of course, we must also talk about Fiorentina, who lost yet again (this time at Lausanne). We wrap things up with a title-contender power rankings and a look ahead to the knockouts draw in January. Cheers Jarkko Wiss!
This sermon, centered on Psalm 54, presents a powerful meditation on faith confronting fear through the lens of David's flight from Saul and betrayal by the Ziphites. It emphasizes that true faith is not the absence of fear but the active, prayerful reliance on God's character—His name and strength—as the foundation for deliverance. The psalm reveals three essential dimensions of faith: first, the honest approach to God in prayer, acknowledging both personal peril and divine sovereignty; second, the assurance that God is a faithful helper, both through His direct intervention and through the sustaining presence of the godly community; and third, the heartfelt acknowledgment of God's faithfulness in past deliverances, expressed through worship and thanksgiving. The preacher underscores that all victories, even in fleeing danger, are ultimately attributed to God's grace, not human effort, and calls believers to maintain trust in God's unchanging faithfulness amid life's uncertainties, knowing that no future fear can overcome the soul secured in Christ.
This is a "gift" that you might want to return; or at least you'll be thankful that we did the suffering so you don't have to watch it yourself, and the joy you get is our combined misery having watched this piece of "cinema" that is more like something you find on the floor in the Reindeer's stables. We're discussing the Christmas "cult classic" 'Santa Claus Conquers The Martians', which might be less cult classic and more like something a cult uses to deprogram people when they just don't want any more members. Pastor Endean centers on the biblical truth that pride is the root of all sin and a fundamental form of unbelief, opposing the humility that flows from genuine faith in God's sovereignty and sufficiency. Drawing from Jeremiah 9:23–24, he emphasizes that true glory lies not in wisdom, strength, or wealth, but in knowing and understanding God, whose lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness are the foundation of all worth. Through illustrations like Nebuchadnezzar's downfall and the warnings to Israel, Pastor Endean reveals how pride manifests in self-reliance, self-approval, anxiety, self-pity, and judgmentalism, all of which stem from a heart that trusts in self rather than God. The antidote is not self-effort but a continual orientation toward Christ, who exemplified humility by emptying Himself, and a life marked by mourning over sin, serving others, and meditating on God's character. Ultimately, humility is not self-deprecation but a posture of faith that finds satisfaction in God alone, where true victory over pride is found.
