Sometimes a flower or a bird or an overheard snippet of conversation is enough to bring joy. Perhaps especially in a year like this one, focusing on the small things is important. That’s something poet Ross Gay spent a long time doing for his latest collection of essays, “The Book of Delights.” Gay’s definition of delight is expansive and palpable, and his essays range from the smallest of natural wonders to the largest of societal problems. This year, Multnomah County Library is encouraging everybody to read “The Book of Delights.” Ross Gay joins us to talk about his book.

On today's NEW PODCAST, Host Dave Wager offers a unique “interview” with the late V. Raymond Edman through Edman's devotional book The Delights of Life, focusing on the chapter titled “Destination.” Using Revelation 14:13 as the anchor verse, Dave explores Edman's reflections on death—not as something to fear, but as a destination of delight for those who know Christ. Through Scripture readings, poetry, and personal stories, he unpacks the hope and assurance found in a relationship with Jesus, encouraging listeners to view death as the doorway to God's eternal presence rather than an end to be dreaded. Dave challenges listeners to examine their own views on life, death, and eternity, asking whether their trust is truly in Christ or in the temporary things of this world. He emphasizes that knowing God through His Word transforms our understanding of mortality and empowers us to live confidently and joyfully, even in the face of life's uncertainties. This powerful conversation invites believers to shift their focus from earthly distractions to eternal truths, resting in the promise that “blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.” Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A

You want some feel good tunes? Oh, we got 'em this week. How about a little Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass!Swingin' 60s meets the coolest square sounds out there. With a lineup that included members of LA's legendary Wrecking Crew, this album bops and bounces along breezily.Herb Alpert is a dude we should all be glad is as successful as he is. His investment into music education, and his humility at yet another resurgence in popularity rank him high on our favorite artist's we've covered.Whipped Cream & Other Delights is in every garage sale, clearance bin, and attic collection ever. And why? Because it rules, obviously. Thanks for listening! We're kicking off our multi-day Disneyland trip report with everything that went down on Day 1—from coast-to-coast travel logistics to indulging in incredible food and drink around Downtown Disney. We start with trip planning details, including why we chose this time of year, how far in advance we booked, total costs, and what it took to get from Florida to Anaheim. We break down our travel day experience, our choice of transportation, and what it's like navigating the journey from the airport to the magic.Next, we dive into our stay at the charming and historic Candy Cane Inn, including fun facts (like how it was almost named the “Cinderella Inn” until Walt stepped in), amenities, and why it might be the best off-property value near Disneyland. Then we explore Downtown Disney, grabbing a bite at Naples Ristorante e Bar (spoiler: the Prosciutto e Melone pizza and mocktails are winners), shopping at World of Disney, and taking in the luxurious ambiance of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. Our evening wraps up with refreshing drinks—including an impressive non-alcoholic lineup—at Ballast Point Brewing Co., a flavorful dinner at the newly reimagined Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio, and a sweet stop at Beignets Expressed.MEI-Travel – Expertise.
