2 John 6 And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it. What a tremendous encouragement to live to love with Jesus! John defined love as walking according to God's commandments (plural). Then John said, “This is the commandment (singular) that you should walk in it.” It seems obvious from the context that the commandment is the one mentioned in the previous verse, namely, that we love one another. The commandment from the beginning for all believers was to walk in love. So what is love? I am going to assume that John had love for God in mind rather than love for the brethren because it makes more sense. Doesn't it make sense that if one loves God then he intends to walk according to what He knows pleases Him? Let me now connect this love for God to living to love with Jesus. Within minutes of Jesus giving His disciples the command to love one another as He loved them, He promised to be with them and enable or help them obey the commandment. He actually told them that all they had to do was ask Him, and He would do it for them! John 14:12-14. “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” The reason we should live to love with Jesus is that we love God. We love the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is love, so what pleases the Father is for us to believe in Jesus and walk in love with Him in the power of the Holy Spirit. Is that your definition of love for God? How do you express your love for God? The encouragement today from this verse is to love God by living to love with Jesus. I invite you to visit livetolovewithjesus.com to learn more about what I call the live to love adventure with Jesus. Also, please share this podcast with others and invite them to join the journey of walking in love.
In this episode, John talks to Shaun Galanos (The Love Drive) about various topics including fear of missing out (FOMO), polyamory, dating rejection, and attachment styles. They also touch on the current obsession with attachment styles and the danger of using labels and judgments. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

This is the 2nd part of our devotional 1 Corinthians 13 and today we will be reading verse 5 and I will also talk about a few verses that goes and support what we read in this verse. My prayer is that you will show love to the people you love and that you will be slow to anger and keep no record of wrongs. Just like Jesus loves you and once he forgave you, he does not keep any record of anything you have done in the past. Remember God loves you and He loves me, so if you haven't made that decision yet my prayer is you won't wait but you will accept Him in your hearts and your life now. I pray that something I said will bless your hearts and that you will always remember that God loves you and He has been patiently waiting for you to let Him in your lives so He can show you what true love means in your life. In this devotion we will be talking about what does the bible say what love is & we will do something different. When it comes to love, we always hear a preaching from 1 Corinthians 13, but I want to do is read and talked about the characteristics that is being talk in the verse. For today, we will be starting by reading in 1 Corinthians 13:4. I will also talk about a few verses that goes and support what we read in this verse. My prayer is that you will show love by being patient and showing kindness to everyone. Show them love not just one day or once a month in a year. However, show love and kindness all the time. God loves you and He loves me, so if you haven't made that decision yet my prayer is you won't wait but you will accept Him in your hearts and your life now. I pray that something I said will bless your hearts and that you will always remember that God loves you and He has been patiently waiting for you to let Him in your lives so He can show you what true love means in your life. Beginning at a young age, Brenden felt compelled to become an accountant in order to relieve his parents of their financial burden. Now he's the founder of MasterTalk where Brenden refers to himself as "a public speaker, communicator and facilitator." Brenden is the first in his family's lineage to complete higher education. My guest currently lives in Montreal Canada where he purchased a home for he and his mother in order to eliminate two mortgages. Culturally, as the first born, he had inherent responsibilities, including being very protective of his mother. Unfortunately his father, who passed away in 2019, was affected by alcoholism and made things challenging around the home. Both parents worked hard as factory workers, but just couldn't make ends meet. Brenden, who says, he was always good with numbers, studied accounting and got great jobs out of college and was eventually able to pay off all outstanding debt.Brenden admires and loves his mother tremendously. He says, "my mother has a very different life now than what she struggled through in the last ten years. Culturally, "you don't just walk away from your partner or family member who is struggling. You continue to support them and provide for them. My #1 priority was making sure everyone was safe," says Brenden.Sri Lanka, is an island country located in South-Central Asia, and Brenden shares stories of both his parents who grew up in Sri Lanka. His mother is the youngest of a large family and she loved to tend to the family garden. She married at 30 years old and immigrated to Canada. His mother taught her son many wonderful life lessons including his story that he shares about the $10 bill he found on the ground. Vijee hoped that her son understood that " even if we don't have a lot, we have a lot more than other people do and always be generous and lead with that generosity."After years of studying to be an accountant, then technology consultant, he was able to shift into doing what he really loved. He felt all of his steps in life where important. "That first step was absolutely necessary to get to the person I am today." Kumarasamy continues, " I got out of survival mode later in life and started to focus on the bigger picture of what I could do to serve the world"Brenden's Youtube channel is full of wonderful videos with professional advice for improving ones public speaking skills. He is self taught and wants everyone to understand that it wasn't easy in the beginning. He practiced hundreds of times before he felt he was ready. He was very fearful of launching that first Youtube video. He talks about trying to reach out and help many with public speaking skills and says "that when you care about others and only want to add value, you'll be able to overcome any fear/obstacle in the service of others." Love is one of those concepts that most people think they know exactly what it is. We use the word all the time. But when you try to give a precise definition, it ends up being a little harder than you might think. How would you define love-
Love is all of it. Love is the force we call God. Love is the feeling. Love is the action between two old friends, and the generosity between you and your waiter at lunch today. And in that broad definition, I think those of us who call ourselves Christian can step toward theology: not the kind that draws lines of who's in and who's out, of who gets it and who obviously doesn't, but to lean toward a theology of God as Love that is moving toward all of us, calling each of us to come close, to experience a Love that transforms everything, and ultimately teaches us what to do with the feelings in our chest: how to turn the feeling of love into a way of living that transforms our relationships, visions of ourselves, and our small worlds. I originally published this episode much earlier this year, but the message still rings true today. Enjoy this replay of one of my favorites this week, friends. Do you think your childhood affected the way you date? According to psychology, our adult dating choices are closely linked to the relationship we had with the parent we craved love from the most as a child. Many times, we see "love" as "chemistry" and "chemistry" as "soul connections." HOWEVER, theory is that chemistry is completely different than a soul connection. While chemistry may be based on our past, soul connections are beyond this 3D world. In this episode you will learn how to distinguish chemistry vs. soul connections, understand trauma bonds and why we create them, and therefore be able to take your power back from your past and recreate a new definition of love. Whether you are single, dating, or in a long term relationship, this episode will help you understand the love you internalized and it will also help you create the love you want.
Black and White: Radical Grace, Raw Truth and Real Hope in a Gray World
Love is in the air. Everywhere. But the expression of that love is often not love at all. Sometimes our perspective of love is skewed toward self and temporary. We love if we are first loved. We love if we feel like it. But the definition of love that God intends lasts forever. Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 13–14 Verse of the day: 1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud.” Word of the day: Love. It is the Greek word: ἀγάπη (ag-ah'-pay).
God's definition of love is not the same as the dictionary's definition of love. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We all want love and we want to love others. But sometimes the love we're giving isn't what is needed, wanted, or even liked. This week, we unpack how we love. And we ask ourselves some honest questions: Why do I love the way I do? Is it what others want? If not, how will I know?
