episode 21 Simulation Theory and Psychological Dark Matter pt.1

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 18, 2020 63:36

Simulation theory has been something that's been a lingering intrigue among science over the past decades. In this episode we venture beyond that into recent and distant millennia in some of the searches that ancient science including Mayans, Gnostics, and even Alchemists were trying to better understand. That is, the connection between mind and body, the physiological and consciousness and what this implant that Carl Jung identifies as placed by God (or the Programmer) as the archetype of himself. We are still in that search today and it has evolved to what we now are trying to better understand in some regards as Simulation Theory, and what I run into as a type of what I can only describe as, psychological dark-matter. Also in the episode is music from Mojave Robb, mojaverobb.com check him out on YouTube for the song in this episode "The Moth" --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/andrew651/support

This is the third and final part of the freedom series.  FEAR! Everything in the news is slanted toward fear and panic!  The lock-down continues for many across the country. As modern Americans can we accept safety over freedom? What would Benjamin Franklin have to say? Will we cave to collective masochistic tendencies (where is Antifa these days anyway) and hand over control that can be used against us? Do we feel the desire to be controlled by the possibility of a power hungry political system? Bill DeBlasio has been getting his fair share of resistance in the form of dick-picks! (Gov. Cuomo was mistakenly mentioned in the episode)   The UN came out recently and said 130 million people are likely to die from starvation because the 3rd world depends on the 1st world’s economy as we wait in quarantine. Is it about control by the elite, or the election cycle? Many are afraid and genuinely do not want to harm their self or others, but there is a mad rush to consolidate control and use the situation as a power grab. Not the typical study on freedom as one may think, no eagles and flags in this one. This episode is about the sometimes dizzying freedom that we are condemned to. Personal awareness is so relevant to our experience of what freedom is and can be depending how many lenses are filtering out our experience! There are evolutionary reasons for being the Zebra in the safety of group, but spending too much time there is limiting to our freedom as a human and we must understand just how our reality can be shaped so that we can experience as much of it as possible while still regarding our responsibilities (it's complex but surely Husserl, Nietzsche, Sartre, Kant be wrong -see what I did there?). We will break it all down in part one, and further our study in part 2!   If you would be so kind as to leave us a comment in iTunes, or your podcast platform. episode 10: The World Tree motif

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 7, 2019 51:41

What is the function of the world tree? It is not only the ancient story behind the origin of man-as-self, but it is also a symbol of individuation or completeness of the union of opposites, consciousness and unconscious, male and female, good and evil. The world tree is represented as a colossal tree which supports the heavens, thereby connecting the heavens, the terrestrial world, and, through its roots, to the underworld. “No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.” DON'T FORGET TO TELL A FRIEND!!!   In modern times, most of us can satisfy our needs of the "shadow" within, via horror flicks, symbolic religious experience, or other safe approaches to exercise our more archaic parts of self. In this continued series, we dive further into our correspondence with the fragmented fantasy-come-reality of Dennis Rader, a.k.a. the notorious BTK serial killer. Freud spoke of maturing as the adaptation to "reality" and the inhibition of the "pleasure-principle." These he felt are accomplished by biding one's time and making various resignations, and by finding "sublimations," socially acceptable releases of tension. In the case of BTK, this was obviously not the case. Journey with me to better understand what happens when successful maturing falls on its face.  DON'T FORGET TO TELL A FRIEND!!! This was kind of a heavy episode. I struggled with delving into "roots" in this part 2 to the myth series, and how upsetting the content can be. I cover Alex Haley's book Roots in this episode, in addition to, when an individual loses his or her sense of self, just how devastating it can be. I cover hero, and modern celebrity worship. How we overcompensate for the lack of our own history, by drawing from exile in medieval times from one's city/people, and to our own modern exile with technology. I get into American Indian population and the staggeringly high suicide rates that accompany living in prisoner of war camps. (I promise I will cover lighter stuff in the future :) but this is necessary.  Send us an email at     mindoutpodcast@gmail.com    or stop to say hey on our Twitter or Facebook page!  (but don't spend too much time on social media according to this episode LOL) SUPPORT US ON PATREON https://www.patreon.com/user?u=19810882 --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/andrew651/support

The lack of guiding myths could potentially carry devastating and deadly effects on a mass-scale from the primitive unconscious. It has happened in our not-too-distant past in Nazi Germany.  In this episode, we dig into the mystery of what myth is. We unveil how it functions within us via the archetypes, the beginnings of consciousness in primitive man, and what myth means for modern society. With the advent of modern transportation, warfare, and more currently social media, our myths must evolve for our survival as a species.
