It is important to know what works best for you - what brings you joy, what gets you motivated, and what drains you. Knowing that information can help you create practices in your life that allow you to grow both mentally, emotionally, and physically. This week Rachel and Corian are joined by Ellen, Rachel's "Ruthless in Pursuit" teammate. Before Rachel and Ellen head off for the Impact Games, the 3 ladies get a chance to sit down and talk about the perception of body image in athletics. There is a perception that athletes (both male and female) need to look a certain way in order to perform at the optimal level. Additionally, they must all do the same thing to achieve their nutrition and performance goals. Corian, Rachel, and Ellen are here to tell you it's FALSE. Having a healthy relationship with food is the most important step towards reaching your athletic goals and there are multiple ways to get there!
As it always seems lately, there is a lot happening in the world and our community. Corian and Rachel sit down this week, not to discuss the current events, but to talk about how we can move forward as a society. They talk about how necessary it is to have open discussions and find understanding - even if you don't agree with someone.
Where are you getting your information? Are you an informed consumer? This week, Corian & Rachel tackle the topic of the MEDIA and what information is available through various sources. You have the power to control what information you consume; sit back and listen as the ladies challenge you to evaluate your information sources.

Join Corian and Rachel as they discuss current events and how it affects their personal and professional lives, new hobbies, and the future.
Corian and Rachel are back together to talk about a topic that surrounds us every day: body image. In an athletic field the stigma of body image affects both men and woman, primarily in a negative way. The ladies discuss what they used to idolize and how their focus has changed. They also talk about positive body image and what exactly that means.
Corian & Rachel took a little time off to process their thoughts and feelings about all that is going on in life right now. But they are back and they are ready to talk about some hot topics in the world today and how they see the situation. From the Black Lives Matter movement to the latest CrossFit news, Corian & Rachel talk about how to learn and grow in today's world.
A lot has happened during the past 8+ weeks of quarantine. Corian and Rachel reflect on this "down time" and talk about what is in store now that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.Corian and Rachel also ponder the problem with success: you don't take into account all that has lead you there, only the one last thing that you remember. You cannot equate any success to just one thing, it is a combination of many factors.
This week Corian and Rachel met with the help of video conferencing technology to chat about what is happening in their lives and how two months of a "Safer-at-home" order is affecting them. If you listen carefully, you can hear added comments from Blair Chapman! Not only has a two-month "safer-at-home" order affected HPCF Racine, it plays a large part in peoples' overall health: mental and physical. This "down time" has allowed each of our hosts to learn a little bit more about themselves and how they deal with structure and changes to their routine.
In this week's episode we chatted via Zoom with Bailey (Stroud CrossFit) and Alexis (Alpha Dog CrossFit). The ladies touch on sugar, body image, mindset, and birth control. The takeaways from this week's episode:It's okay to take a break from tracking your food. Focus on eating real food and listening to your body. The words you use will affect your mindset; be kind to yourself. The side effects of hormonal birth control are greater than not getting pregnant.Do your research when it comes to prescriptions. Know what you are putting in your body and how it may affect you.
In this week's episode, through Zoom we chatted with Bailey from Stroud CrossFit, and Hannah and Lexi from CrossFit Lozen. The takeaways from this week's episode are: Food is hardIf you're trying to create healthy nutrition habits you need to remember that not one size fits allBody dysmorphia happens at all sizes Using a digital item like the WHOOP, Garmin, or Apple Watch to track your success means that you may have your feelings turned off. When you are looking to start with nutrition coaching, think of these things first: What are you willing to give up? What are you NOT willing to give up?What are your goals? What works for YOU?
In this episode Rachel & Corian talk about what gym life is like during the COVID-19 shutdown. We all handle this differently, but the one thing that we need to remember is to not stress about it. If you can't do a workout because you're struggling, that's ok. If you want to just take a walk, that's fine. If you need to just curl up in a ball and cry for a minute - it's OK! There are probably a lot of us who are sad or frustrated, but they're pushing it down and not allowing themselves to feel it because they're seeing so many people on social media or even in their own personal lives who seem to have it "all together". But if they would just be able to own the fact that they're not perfect or happy all of the time, it would make this quarantine time so much easier. IT'S OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY.A good thing that you can try to get the feelings out is journaling. Even if it's just 5 minutes of mindless journaling.Try to find a way to really feel your feelings. Take your time to get into a groove.Life isn't perfect, figure out a routine that works for YOU! Eat the ice-cream, or go on a walk, or do 2 workouts a day. Whatever works for you so you can grieve before moving on.
This week's episode is all about sell care, listening to your body's cues and trying to understand what its trying to say. Life isnt about not having cravings, anxiety, stress or big ideas. Its about being willing to dive into those feelings to figure out you'r body's needs and satisfying them so you can survive mentally and physically. Our body has warning flags, but we have come to push them away to the point we have no idea what they mean. It takes time but you can tune back into them if you practice listening.
We can't believe that we are already on our 20th episode! Today we are joined by some badass bitches - Hannah and Lexi, Co-owners of Lozen CrossFit in Cedarburg, WI along with Heidi, another CrossFit athlete. Before recording this episode, Corian and Rachel joined some ladies at Lozen CrossFit for a workout and then stuck around for lunch & a podcast recording! We talk about how drinking (excessively) impacted our lives, how anxiety and depression play a part in our every day lives, and what it's meant to own or be apart of a CrossFit Gym. Through our jobs as gym owners and coaches, we genuinely get to touch peoples lives and help people improve. It is so rewarding. Our hands-on coaching approach allows us to get to know our members.Don't worry about scaling - we don't care!!! Get in and move your body! Work to the best of your ability. We try our hardest to keep our coaching personal. We value each of our members. Our goal is to make your workout the best hour of your day.
In this episode Corian & Rachel are talking through your mindset & how to move forward. Rachel talks about how she had a really hard day and it hit her a lot harder than she expected it to, but she was able to walk away from it realizing and reflecting that she only had a bad DAY, not a bad WEEKEND! This episodes takeaways: Comparing yourself to others can be done in a positive way - it can be used to improve yourself. Be sure to ask yourself why someone's actions or comments are upsetting you. Sometimes the reason you're getting upset is because it's a reflection on yourself. Being able to reflect on a situation in the moment (or directly after the moment) will help you progress. While it's true, it's hard to realize that most things are "you against you". Find and recognize the moments that are there to teach you and listen to the message. Life is a series of stepping stone.
