In this episode of Don't Miss This, Dave Butler and Grace Freeman continue Abraham's story in Genesis 18–23 and watch the promises of God begin to unfold in real and messy ways. From radical hospitality to wilderness rescues, these chapters reveal a God who shows up, pursues, and provides. The lesson begins with Abraham running to welcome divine visitors on an ordinary afternoon, reminding us that the Lord appears in everyday moments and that we choose how fully we invite Him in. Placed beside it is Lot's story, where lingering and looking back contrast with Abraham's trust. Yet even there, the rescue continues. In houses of sin and cities on the brink, God still calls, “Escape,” revealing a heart determined to save. Genesis 21 and 22 then place two powerful stories side by side. In the wilderness, Hagar discovers the God who sees and provides a well where she least expects it. On Mount Moriah, Abraham and Isaac walk together toward a sacrifice, and the Lord provides a ram, foreshadowing the Lamb who would come later. In both stories, we see the same truth: whether in personal wilderness or eternal need, Jehovah Jireh is the God who provides. These chapters invite us to remember the mountains in our own lives where the Lord has seen us and supplied what we needed. He is the God who comes unto us, who rescues, and who provides, again and again. * You can get the sermon note sheet at: https://family-bible-church.org/2026Messages/26Feb15.pdf * We have spent the past seven weeks considering examples and applications which are the results of people living their lives by faith in the redemptive plan of YHWH which was completed in the sacrificial death of the Messiah. We have seen that in the face of the adversities of this life "the just shall live by faith." * Over the past two weeks, we have been considering the pursuit of faith which is laid out for us in chapter 12 - to lay aside every weight and "good standing" sin(s) which are hindering us from running the race which has been set before us. In order to accomplish this task, we need to have a proper focus - we must be looking unto Jesus, who is One who began the work in us and will be faithful to complete it. Additionally, this pursuit will require a great deal of discipline, and training, in our lives. That discipline is a two-fold process between our own zeal and the loving intervention of our Heavenly Father. As a loving Father, He trains us to be disciplined when we will not discipline ourselves. * Last week, we began to consider the fourth facet of this pursuit revealed in this chapter, The Need for Teamwork. We do not, nor cannot, live this life of faith as "Lone Rangers." The church is referred to by God as the body of Christ. There are many passages in the Word of God which talk about the importance of the body of Christ ministering to "one another." Today, we will continue that discussion. * This message was presented by Bob Corbin on February 15, 2026 at Family Bible Church in Martinez, Georgia.
In Multidomain Operations: The Pursuit of Battlefield Dominance in the 21st Century (Howgate Publishing Limited, 2026), Amos Fox and Franz-Stefan Gady challenge one of modern war's most influential doctrines: MDO. Is it the right framework for 21st-century conflict—or a concept rushed into service without sufficient grounding? Through the lenses of origin, field application, academic critique, and international perspectives, the authors examine MDO's theoretical and practical shortcomings. They argue that MDO is a solution in search of a problem—strategically narrow, tactically vague, and ill-suited for America's allies. This book calls for a doctrinal reset: one that addresses precision strike overreach, rising attrition warfare, and the enduring need for land forces. With rigorous policy and PME recommendations, Fox and Gady offer a vital roadmap for rethinking military doctrine. Essential reading for defense leaders, scholars, and warfighters alike, this book reshapes how we must think about future battlefields.Dr. Amos C. Fox is a Professor of Practice at Arizona State University's Future Security Initiative. Amos also works as a lecturer in the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Houston where he teaches strategy and international relations, and hosts the Revolution in Military Affairs podcast, which focuses on war, strategy, international affairs, and the impact of technology on warfare. Ask frequent flyers what bothers them most about air travel and you might be surprised by the answer. It's not turbulence, cramped seats, or bad food — it's the other passengers. This episode begins by revealing which behaviors irritate fellow travelers the most and what people wish would stop happening at 35,000 feet. https://pro.morningconsult.com/analysis/airplane-etiquette-annoying-behaviors What brings two people together romantically has always been a mystery — and today, it's more complicated than ever. Dating apps offer endless options, yet many people struggle to find meaningful connection. What actually predicts long-term attraction? What matters less than we think? And what do science and history tell us about love, choice, and compatibility? Paul Eastwick joins me to explain how attraction really works. He's a professor of psychology at the University of California, Davis, director of the Attraction and Relationships Research Laboratory, and author of Bonded by Evolution: The New Science of Love and Connection (https://amzn.to/49RrGS0) Most people pursue goals with a clear payoff — something they hope and expect to achieve. But some people dedicate their lives to goals they know will never happen. Why would anyone do that? What sustains them? And what do these impossible pursuits reveal about meaning, purpose, and fulfillment? Journalist Mark Medley shares remarkable stories of people chasing futures they'll never live to see. He's author of Live to See the Day: Impossible Goals, Unimaginable Futures, and the Pursuit of Things That May Never Be (https://amzn.to/46fV95J). Life has a way of stripping all our reasons bare, of humbling our plans and assumptions. We must live, as Marcus Aurelius said, as if death hangs over us. Because it does.
Send a textJoshua 10 reminds us that obedience doesn't end when the agreement is made—it's proven when pressure comes. After Israel's covenant with the Gibeonites in Joshua 9, Joshua is immediately pulled into a fight he didn't initiate but is still responsible to finish. In this episode of The Pursuit of Manliness, we look at what it means for men to follow through when commitment becomes costly. Joshua doesn't hesitate, delay, or look for a way out. He shows up, fights hard, and trusts the Lord to do what only God can do—even to the point of the sun standing still. This chapter challenges us to consider how our present faithfulness prepares us for future battles. Half-hearted obedience, delayed action, or unfinished work doesn't just affect today—it weakens us for what's coming next. God honors men who keep their word, stand firm under pressure, and move forward in confidence that the battle ultimately belongs to Him.Learn more about The Pursuit of Manliness: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/ Subscribe to Recalibrate, the daily podcast from The Pursuit of Manliness: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/recalibrate/id1797551549Join The Herd: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/join-the-herd Build your own local Tribe with Tribe Builder: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/gear/p/tribe-builderRegister for our 2026 Fall Men's Retreat: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/gear/p/2026-mens-retreatSupport the show

This episode jumps from political fireworks to celebrity intrigue, relationship drama, and spiritual guidance in a way only the Rickey Smiley Morning Show can deliver. The show opens with Attorney General Pam Bondi’s chaotic Capitol Hill hearing, where she repeatedly clashed with lawmakers over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, refused to apologize to survivors seated directly behind her, and engaged in shouting matches that dominated headlines. Meanwhile, the crew dives into viral buzz surrounding Jeannie Mai and Anderson. Paak, who were filmed getting unusually cozy at his West Hollywood restaurant just days before Valentine’s Day — a moment that ignited fresh dating rumors following both stars’ recent divorces. The conversation heats up further as the team unpacks Cardi B and Stefon Diggs’ spiraling controversy, fueled by Super Bowl tension, Instagram unfollows, and viral allegations — with multiple reports confirming the couple recently broke up, though some sources hint a reconciliation isn’t impossible. In this episode of the Pursuit of Property Podcast, our hosts, Scott Farrow and Cade Berrett, sit down with real estate investor and systems builder Andrew Becker to talk about what it really takes to scale a real estate business without burning out. Andrew shares his journey from working at the Pentagon to building a high-volume real estate operation and how he eventually removed himself from the day-to-day by creating systems, playbooks, and automation that allow the business to run without him being involved in every decision. This conversation goes deep into the difference between being an operator versus being a true business owner. Andrew breaks down how most real estate entrepreneurs get stuck in the weeds because their business depends on them to function and how shifting to a systems-first mindset can completely change the trajectory of your growth. They also talk about hybrid real estate models that combine cash offers and listings, why most teams struggle with profitability even when they're doing high volume, and how bad data leads to bad decisions when you don't have clean systems in place. If you're a real estate investor, wholesaler, agent, or entrepreneur who feels capped by your time, overwhelmed by operations, or frustrated by inconsistent results, this episode will challenge how you think about building your business and show you what it looks like to design something that can scale without you being in every meeting, call, and deal.Guest: Andrew BeckerFounder of Billions CRM and host of the Team Lead Talks PodcastLearn more at https://joinbillions.comFollow Andrew on social media: @iamandrewbeckerListen to his podcast: Team Lead Talks Podcast

Scott shares unfiltered insights from working with elite players, his own experiences chasing professional golf, and the uncomfortable psychological traits that show up at the highest levels of performance. We explore obsession, selfishness, loving nerves, emotional regulation, meditation, and the hard truth that elite success often requires becoming someone most people are unwilling—or unable—to be. This conversation also weaves into life, parenting, money, identity, and how meditation and awareness prepare you for the inevitable storms both on and off the course. This is a raw, wide-ranging discussion about excellence, suffering, fulfillment, and what it really costs to pursue greatness. In this episode, you'll learn: The real mental difference between wanting to play well and being committed to winning Why elite golfers fall in love with monotony and repetition How "loving nerves" becomes a competitive advantage Why being "too nice" can quietly cap your potential How meditation builds emotional regulation under pressure Why reframing thoughts—not eliminating them—is the real work How defining success incorrectly sabotages long-term fulfillment Get your pencils ready and start listening. Instagram: @thepaulsalter Key Takeaways: Elite performers are wired to embrace monotony and obsessive repetition. Wanting to eliminate nerves is a losing strategy; learning to love them is essential. Being nice and being kind are not the same—and niceness often limits success. Winning requires emotional regulation, not emotional suppression. Thoughts only gain power when you attach to them and rehearse them. Meditation trains awareness that transfers directly into performance under pressure. Fulfillment comes from meaningful pursuit, not chasing pleasure or avoiding discomfort. Key Quotes: "Elite players don't try to get rid of nerves—they learn to love them." "You can't force yourself to be ruthless if it's not how you're wired." "Thoughts are just thoughts until you give them power." "If you don't meditate, you're probably meditating—just on the wrong things." "Winning isn't about outcomes; it's about getting one percent better every day." "Life is messy—and if it's not messy, it's lonely." "You're not the thinker of your thoughts; you're the observer of them." You killed Jesus. And until you feel the weight of that, you'll never fully understand the gospel. In this episode of The Pursuit, James Griffin, Carlos Fernandez, and Matt Moody unpack Acts 2 and Peter's confronting sermon on the Day of Pentecost where 3,000 people were baptized in a single day. But before the celebration came the conviction: "You crucified and killed him by the hands of lawless men."If you've been defending your sin instead of repenting from it, or if you've never taken that next step of obedience, this episode will cut to the heart just like Peter's message did 2,000 years ago.Subscribe for more messages and conversations that will help you know and follow Jesus.SHOW NOTESThese notes are packed with key insights and scripture to help you know and follow Jesus – https://mycpcc.com/notes166To submit a question, send us a DM on Instagram or Facebook.Crosspoint City Church exists to relentlessly pursue those far from God to help them know and follow Jesus. Send a textIn Joshua 9, Israel wins battles on the battlefield but stumbles in the conference room. The Gibeonites don't defeat Israel with swords or strength, but with worn clothes, stale bread, and a convincing story. And the most dangerous line in the chapter may be this: “They did not ask counsel from the Lord.”In this episode of The Pursuit of Manliness, we wrestle with why deception so often works on us as men. Why do we trust appearances, rush decisions, and rely on our own judgment—especially after seasons of victory? Joshua 9 exposes how spiritual confidence can quietly turn into self-reliance, and how failing to slow down and seek the Lord can lead to long-term consequences. This episode challenges men to examine where they may be operating on assumption instead of prayer, instinct instead of obedience, and confidence instead of humility. True strength isn't found in quick decisions—it's found in dependence on the Lord who sees what we cannot.Learn more about The Pursuit of Manliness: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/ Subscribe to Recalibrate, the daily podcast from The Pursuit of Manliness: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/recalibrate/id1797551549Join The Herd: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/join-the-herd Build your own local Tribe with Tribe Builder: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/gear/p/tribe-builderRegister for our 2026 Fall Men's Retreat: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/gear/p/2026-mens-retreatSupport the show

When a Latter-day Saint (Mormon) says they believe the Bible is the Word of God, they aren't lying—but they are using a different dictionary. In this episode, we pull back the curtain on the LDS "Eighth Article of Faith" and the massive disclaimer that follows their view of Scripture: "as far as it is translated correctly." We explore the "Great and Abominable Church" narrative, the bold claims of the Joseph Smith Translation (JST), and how a "broken" Bible created a vacuum that only a modern prophet could fill. Ultimately, we compare the Mormon hierarchy of truth against the biblical claim that Jesus is the "final word," challenging listeners to return to the sufficiency of the original text.--The Unveiling Mormonism podcast pulls back the curtain on Mormon history, culture and doctrine. While they value the Bible as holy scripture, they do not believe it is the final or complete authority for faith. Instead, they view it as one part of a larger collection of scriptures that includes the Book of Mormon. The Bible and the "Translation" CaveatTo understand what Mormons believe about the Bible, you first have to look at their eighth Article of Faith. It states that they believe the Bible to be the word of God "as far as it is translated correctly." This phrase is a major pivot point. For evangelical Christians, the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God. For a Mormon, the Bible is seen as a book that has suffered from the loss of "plain and precious parts" over centuries of translation and human interference.Because of this perspective, the LDS Church generally uses the King James Version (KJV) but views it with a level of caution. They believe that through the centuries, many truths were removed by a corrupt church. This is why they believe a "restoration" was necessary. In their view, the Bible is a good book, but it is a damaged book that requires modern revelation to fix its perceived gaps. The Role of the Book of MormonMormons often describe the Book of Mormon as "Another Testament of Jesus Christ." They believe it serves as a companion to the Bible, acting as a second witness to the divinity of Jesus. However, in practice, the Book of Mormon often takes precedence. Since they believe the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith through divine power, they consider it the "most correct of any book on earth."This creates a hierarchy of authority. When a biblical passage seems to contradict a teaching in the Book of Mormon or modern LDS revelation, the Bible is usually the one that is reinterpreted. For a Mormon, the Bible is the starting point, but the Book of Mormon is the clarifying finish line. They believe the two books work together to tell a more complete story of God's dealings with humanity, specifically those in the ancient Americas. The Need for Modern RevelationA core belief in Mormonism is that the "canon" of scripture is not closed. While evangelical Christians...
Are you happy on YOUR terms or someone else's? Find out as Alison dives into a compelling conversation with Tero Mollis, an author and speaker. Taro shares insights from his inspiring book, "Life is a Sandcastle," which delves into themes of mental health, personal happiness, and the importance of self-knowledge as we enter the new year of 2026.Alison and Tero explore the notion that many people confuse happiness with external goals, often falling into the trap of believing they'll be content once they achieve certain milestones. Tero challenges this mindset, advocating for a shift toward recognizing daily dreams and experiences, no matter how simple they may seem. By valuing small accomplishments, we can cultivate a sense of fulfillment and progress in our lives.Tero also addresses the complexities of social perception and the paradox of seeking approval from others while striving for self-acceptance. His perspective encourages listeners to focus on their internal impressions instead of external validations. Throughout their chat, he stresses the importance of questioning our beliefs and opinions, urging us to liberate ourselves from inherited notions that may not serve our true selves. As they discuss decision-making, Tero shares a powerful visualization technique where he imagines standing alone on a deserted island to clarify his choices, free from external pressures. He emphasizes that questioning and answering our thoughts is vital in moving forward, suggesting we should lean into emotions and experiences regardless of how they might be perceived by society. They touch on the topic of legacy and what it means to leave a lasting mark. Tero advocates for living purposefully and authentically in the present, rather than becoming fixated on how one will be remembered after death. He believes that true impact is reflected in how we live our lives daily and how we influence the people around us, whether they be family, friends, or even students.HIGHLIGHTS:2:53 Defining Happiness4:17 The Pursuit of Dreams7:09 Knowing Yourself9:10 Embracing Change13:04 The Power of Opinion14:39 Questions for Self-Discovery16:13 Overcoming Stagnation18:18 Life is a Sandcastle20:49 Legacy and Influence22:53 The Time to Act is Now25:00 Finding Your Word27:07 Practical Decision-Making28:01 Regrets and Life Choicesconnect with Tero:Linkedin: https://mx.linkedin.com/in/teromoliisLife is a Sandcastle: https://a.co/d/0fWHtrs3SPONSOR:Cellev8Discount code: THEALISONK2024 ALISON'S LINKS:Website | Facebook | Twitter | InstagramGET MY FREE 4 part Pop-up Podcast SeriesJOIN...

Equity analyst Alex Romaines joins the podcast to unpack "accounting shenanigans" and why getting from reported numbers to the economic truth of a business is so critical for long-term investors. Drawing on forensic accounting frameworks, he explains how a deep grounding in accounting shapes the way he interrogates financial statements—moving beyond compliance with standards to questions of judgment, incentives, and sustainability. The conversation discusses the issue of stock-based compensation: why adding it back to "adjusted" earnings can be misleading, how dilution and buybacks can quietly transfer wealth from outside shareholders to insiders, and practical ways investors can incorporate these real costs into valuation. Alex then highlights other red flags on his radar today—from lengthening depreciation schedules on fast-changing tech hardware, to vendor financing that may inflate revenues, to the quiet return of special purpose vehicles. Highlights: How a forensic accounting mindset helps investors move from reported numbers to the real economics of a business—and why that gap matters. Stock-based compensation as a quiet wealth transfer mechanism, and practical ways long-term investors can account for its true cost. The growing role of judgment in modern financial reporting, from "adjusted" earnings to the incentives shaping management's disclosures. Other accounting signals Alex is watching now, including depreciation assumptions, vendor financing, and the renewed use of special purpose vehicles. What does it mean to live a life worthy of the gospel, especially when following Jesus comes with opposition, pressure, and suffering? In this episode, we unpack Philippians 1:18-30, which confronts comfortable Christianity and invites us into a deeper, more resilient pursuit of Christ. Paul reminds us that suffering for Christ isn't an accident or a failure of faith; it's a gift that accompanies belief.
