On December 3, 1999, billionaire Edmond Safra and his nurse Vivian Torrente died in a house fire in his 10,000-square-foot Monaco loft. The circumstances are... insane. Like, in the most secure country in the world, surrounded at all times by a team of private bodyguards, how could this have happened? Welp, turns out, there's lots of ways. Was it the Russian mafia who was, like, mad, because, like mafia? Was it his private American nurse who'd been looking for a payout? Was it his wife who stood to inherit billions? OR WAS IT AN EPIC, DISASTEROUS, COMPLETELY AVOIDABLE ACCIDENT THAT EVEN WHEN EXPLAINED THE STUPIDITY IS SO ENRAGING YOU'LL FIND YOURSLEF LEVITATING OFF YOUR CHAIR? Sorry for yelling. Welp, for a loss, that was a blast. For the first time this year, Jack and Kaleb convene on the Nebraketball Hour after a loss and try to sort out what in the world they make of a severely shorthanded Nebraska team going on the road against the odds-on favorite to win the national championship and leading nearly wire-to-wire only to run out of gas in the final minutes. As Jack works through his immediate reaction he lands on a multiple choice question about the rest of the season that is either REALLY bad for Michigan or REALLY good for Nebraska. The guys go through the box score and marvel at Nebraska ending up with very pedestrian three point and FG% numbers, they try and describe their pleasant shock and Leo Curtis scoring on some of the best big men in the league, and Cale Jacobsen at times terrorizing the Michigan offense while making huge clutch shots. And then, despite the valiant performance, the small things that went wrong, any one of which could have changed the outcome of the game and led to mass hysteria in the state, from Berke missing a few bunnies to Jamarques not being able to find points in the second half, to a game of questionable calls on both sides that went against Nebraska in crunch time. Finally, a look at what's ahead, and the bizarre feeling that a lot of Husker fans have coming out of this game more confident about this team than they did coming in at 20-0, a preview of the game against Illinois, a check in on the other things happening in the Big Ten, and a deep dive into the outcomes required to be a top 2 seed in March.Pinch yourselves, Husker fans. Tonight wasn't the end, it was the beginning of the next level. The Nebrasketball Hour is proudly sponsored by Nebraska Realty! Welp, Davos happenened this past week and went sideways for the elites. The narratives blew up. We were there for it. MInnesota is claiming another "Legal Observer" death. We look at what happens when a "Legal Observer" brings a gun to the protest. As well as why a "legal observer" is standard Communist doctrine. CBS suddenly is making headway in viewership. We might have a mainstream viewer not being a POS. Covid jab is disavowed by Ex CDC director Robert Redfield. Greenland deal looks good. Proud to say it. Went round the horn on this one. Did ALL FOUR Philadelphia sports teams and we liked it. What kinda era are we in? Championship / near championship? Or just typical Philly "almost got there" sorta second/third place vibes?Gosh, I don't know the answer to these questions, but we certainly tried on Hoagie Mouth. First up it's the Phillies as the off-season starts to come into full focus. We did what we did, are we done? How much of this is "runnin it back" / definition of insanity or is it the RIGHT CREW to get us over the hump? Welp, pitchers and catchers in like 3.5 weeks in Florida chums.Next it's the Eagles and their search for an OC. As time marches on, the pickings get more slim. But will it be Jim Bob Cooter in the end? Feels like a Dukes of Hazzard episode. In hindsight, that show didn't age well. Then it's the Sixers who are giving off "maybe we're friends MAYBE we're more than that" energy and it's hard to know where we stand. Big win in OT last night and JoJo nets a trip dub. Let's see if "sustainable" is in the cards.Lastly, the Flyers GOTTA get it together. Lost the last one after being up 3-0 in the second. WTF. As the trade deadline approaches, let's think defensemen and a #2 goalie. Yup, we got goalie problems again.Email: hoagiemouthpod@gmail.comIG: @hoagiemouthpod

WELCOME TO THE GOLDEN GIRLS DEEP DIVE PODCAST! Starting from the beginning of the show, each week we recap an episode of The Golden Girls. Along the way, we sprinkle in researched deep dives into something from the episode or The Golden Girls universe! In season 3 episode 14 - WELP, CHEESIES... we're at the Rebecca episode. ANYWAY, Blanche's daughter comes for a visit. Shenanigans ensue when... well actually there are shenanigans throughout BUT ALSO 80-YEAR-OLD SOPHIA HAS A JOB AND ORGANIZES A STRIKE AGAINST TERRIBLE WORKING CONDITIONS. Welp, it's almost 2026! Today we're breaking down how to set New Year's goals that actually stick, without pressure, guilt, or perfectionism. Just clarity, compassion, and small steps forward.Let's jump in!Step 1: WHAT MAKES A GOAL SMARTSMART goals are:• Specific• Measurable• Achievable• Relevant• Time‑boundMost goals fail because they're too vague. “Get healthier,” “be more confident,” “save money” — great intentions, zero clarity. SMART goals give you a roadmap instead of a wish.Step 2: THE KINDER APPROACHBefore you set any goal, ask yourself:• Does this goal come from pressure or from purpose?• Does it make my life heavier or lighter?• Is this something I want, or something I think I should want? When your goals come from self‑compassion, they last longer.Step 3: QUICK SMART GOAL EXAMPLESLet's take “I want to get healthier.”SMART version:“For the next 30 days, I'll walk 10 minutes a day to boost my energy.”Or “I want to be more confident.”SMART version:“Every Monday, I'll write down one thing I did well that week.”Small. Clear. Doable.Step 4: MICRO‑GOALSMicro‑goals are tiny actions that build momentum:• Drink one extra glass of water• Read for five minutes• Clean one drawer• Spend 10 minutes on a creative projectThese small wins build trust with yourself — and trust fuels consistency.Step 5: ACCOUNTABILITY WITHOUT SHAMEAccountability doesn't have to feel like judgment. It can be supportive:• Share your goal with someone who roots for you• Track progress visually• Celebrate tiny wins, you can do this by tracking what you are doing, whether with an app or journal etc• Adjust the goal when life changes, life is what happens on the way to your plans, so learn to pivot! you only fail when you quit, so don't...Accountability should feel like partnership, not pressure. As you step into the new year, remember: you don't need a new version of yourself — just a clearer, kinder plan for the version you already are. If this episode helped you, share it with someone who's setting goals too. And if you're working on your own SMART goals, I'd love to hear them. See you next time!TEAM LTP:My IG: @livetoprogressVoice-over credits

“Jesus is coming” signs, brain rot, and the Giggle of God — yeah, we're starting there. In this one, I'm ranting about religious childhood trauma in the funniest way I know how — youth pastors whispering “Lord, come inside all of us,” yard signs that say “Jesus is coming,” and how wearing a cross is basically spiritual incognito mode plus a VPN for your sins. Observational humor meets absolute blasphemous brain rot. Then I accidentally invent my new alter ego: “God's Giggler.” I paint this whole scene of me backstage at an Austin comedy club with a tiny cigar, lightning in the ceiling, a kid in a Peaky Blinders hat holding a bucket, and me declaring, “God's feeling funny tonight.” This is pure stand-up storytelling energy from an Austin comedian who's maybe taken pre-workout for his imagination. From there we slide hard into funny dad podcast mode: first-year parenting as a full-blown stress test. Baby breath-holding, fevers, rashes, thinking “Welp, guess my baby's dead now” every 10 minutes, and realizing other parents were right when they said, “You are not busy until you have kids.” If you like parenting humor that's way too honest, you're home.I talk about how having a kid nuked my ability to waste time on dumb arguments, turned my 2-hour gym sessions into 45-minute efficiency missions, and forced me to kill a bunch of ego just to survive. Less stewing in drama, more doing reps — in the garage and in life.We also get into screen addiction and babies: my daughter going full Gollum over the phone, why we basically had to break up with FaceTime, and my fantasy of going full flip-phone while still needing Venmo, maps, banking, Amazon, and to run an entire career as a new comedian in 2025.It ends kinda wholesome: how the holidays hit different now, why small-kid years are this fleeting magical window, and how I'm trying to stop living for “the next thing” and actually enjoy the mess I'm in. If you like relatable comedy, funny life stories, and listening to an Austin comedian overthink fatherhood in real time, this is it.Come see a show in Austin, tell a friend about the pod, and rate the pod unless you're a hater.#AustinComedy #FunnyPodcast #DadLife

Welp it's that time of year again, when the panoply of denizens of this great country hustle and bustle to jump to that first flag drop that sets us all on course for the madness that is the holiday season. Some will sojourn home from school, some will head to the airport, and some will cram the spousal and kids (both furry or unfurry) into the car and head up the road, or maybe just around the block, to partake in the gustatory bacchanalia we know as Thanksgiving. Sam and I have picked out a special film that we hope will whet and prep our listener's appetites for the holiday onslaught. Thanksgiving has a complicated history, and maybe that's why the very nature of this holiday forces us as good citizens, to be tolerant and civil towards our drunken and opinionated kinfolk over the green bean casserole. It's only one day out of the year, and there is always something to be thankful for (like maybe not having to host the chaos). We hope everyone has a warm, safe, and contented celebration surrounded by the people that matter the most to them.Episode links: “Tasting History with Max Miller” https://youtu.be/ixTkzBuD-cw?si=Vexgk1vZ8tGhDhR5Film locations Hannah and Her Sisters https://www.woodyallenpages.com/2015/02/votw-every-location-hannah-sisters-architecture-tour/“BA Kitchen makes the perfect Thanksgiving” https://youtu.be/iV3p2P7jA2A?si=GlwYCKKaBi8hmURO

It's not either/or.

Welp, we ran long... but we had a lot to unpack! In this episode, a quick look back at some of the storylines from Week 11 (and beyond) that deserve a little more attention, including Nebraska's "professional" win over UCLA, Bear Bachmeier's measurables, Delaware's quiet season, the weirdness of Kentucky and Duke football, and something we're calling the Pitt Measuring Stick. Then, we pose six big questions for each other, taking a look at our favorite team outside the top four, the best landing spot for James Franklin, how to fix bad refs, the most and least trustworthy QBs, the best remaining game, and more. And finally, we close out with an extended look at Notre Dame's trip to Pitt and a revenge spot for Texas on the road against Georgia. NO SHOW TOMORROW - BACK ON WEDNESDAY! Today's word of the day is ‘final four' as in the Mariners as in the Blue Jays as in Seattle as in Toronto as in the ALCS! The Mariners took the first game 3-1 behind great pitching and the big players making big moments. Cal Raleigh homered. Jorge Polanco picked up two RBI. The Blue Jays couldn't hit. Long series though! (19:20) The Dodgers are going with Blake Snell and then Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2. Where is Ohtani? Well, the Dodgers have a plan for that. What about the Brewers? An opener? (31:30) Let's go back to that Phillies loss. A rushed errant throw by Orion Kerkering was it. A mental mistake for the ages. (36:00) What are the Cubs going to do with Kyle Tucker? Is he a longterm Cub? Is he leaving? (38:30) Review: Play Dirty. (45:00) It looks like Albert Pujols is likely to become the next manager of the Los Angeles Angels. Welp. (50:00) NPPOD. Tylenol (acetaminophen) may increase the risk of autism in children if taken while a mother is pregnant. If only there was a post from, say, eight or nine years ago that might be damning in some way. There is, isn't there? Welp. Crowder called it. The Department of Homeland Security is back again with another video. Let's watch. Jimmy Kimmel is back. So. There's that. President Donald Trump spoke to the UN and they're probably still recovering from all those sick burns. The media jumped in to factcheck Trump which means it's time to fact check the factcheckers.GUEST: Josh FirestineLink to today's sources: https://www.louderwithcrowder.com/sources-september-24-2025Buy the OG Mug Club Mug on Crowder Shop now! https://crowdershop.com/products/og-mug-club-mugLet my sponsor American Financing help you regain control of your finances.
