Matthew furthers David's point on brotherhood, and tells us that there was really no chemistry last year and that costed them big when it came to things like League and CIF. The Varsity Baseball team is off to an amazing start with a 4-1 season thus far, with their next game against Chaffey on March 5th. These captains overall have seen a big improvement when comparing their previous season to this years, and they hope to just make it to the end of CIF with some rings to show for it. Having these captains focused on improving the next generation and training next year's seniors, they can only hope that next year's season will keep improving from the last. Sit down and listen this week as Gary and Diego sit down with Branden Garcia and discuss what it's like to be in a wrestling CIF tournament. A long, tiring day for all wrestlers; this is where all the training comes to it's peak. Doubts start clouding your mind, as you start to wonder "Did I make weight?", "Did I train hard enough?", "Will I be good enough?". These are all questions that go through a mind of a wrestler on a big day such as the Mt. Baldy League finals. As other sports you can rely on other athletes to try and pick up the slack where you might be falling behind; wrestling is all on you as an individual and requires all the strength that you have within yourself. A wrestler can go days without eating or drinking just to make weight. The training process for a wrestler is brutal, and only few can actually do it. All this training is worth it when at the end of the day, the wrestlers can say they took home a victory for their school and the athletes around them. Senior Branden Garcia, in the 220 weight class, took on competitors from Chino and Montclair as he entered the finals. These victories take these wrestlers all the way to CIF tournament bracket.
