The group fished below a large electric dam in very swift water. Golden Dorado are described as beautiful, bright gold fish that resemble a 50-pound golden shiner minnow. The fishing was so physically demanding that the anglers only fished for about two and a half hours at a time. They used baitcasting reels and medium-weight rods with heavy eight-ounce sinkers, large hooks, and double steel leaders. The group caught many fish in the 30 to 40-pound range, which far exceeded Johnnie's initial goal of catching a 20-pounder. Golden Dorado are not considered good to eat, but the group did catch and eat large piranhas weighing up to four pounds. The trip also included high-volume dove hunting in Argentina, where they stayed at a historic 1912 horse ranch. One of the hunters in the group shot 1,000 doves in a single day. Johnnie is currently preparing for an upcoming trip to South Africa to hunt dangerous game. During his African safari, he plans to use mouth calls to try and call in predators like jackals, caracals, and potentially leopards. He eventually recovered from his injuries and competed in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio. Shaheerah Stephens is the senior minister and founding minister of Transforming Love Community (TLC) in Detroit, Michigan.Shaheerah was the director of the Alzheimers Association in Detroit. She was teaching and traveling, doing workshops everywhere. She went to help assist the minister, but the board required her to go to the Unity School of Ministry in order to help her. Rev. Shaheerah was told by Spirit to say yes. Spirit guaranteed her that It would be there to assist her. And it has been this way for 28 years.Rev. Shaheerah sold their building in 2022, after the pandemic, and now has an online community. It's now a global ministry. At the Unity School, there was racism there. Rev. Shaheerah noticed that Johnnie Colemon understood that melanated people needed these teachings and Shaheerah noticed that as well. Rev. Shaheerah noticed that Rev. Johnnie did not lose their culture. TLC has brought the culture and the teachings together.  The New Thought teachings were underground in the 60s and 70's, but it is mainstream now. In this season, TLC is prepared for this. Rev. Shaheerah has studied the celestials and therefore she is prepared for this. Shaheerah feels like we need a Guide right now, and that Guide is the Holy Spirit.Rev. Shaheerah is a keynote speaker for "Celebrating Our Soul 2026", which is happening August 13th through 16th. There will be great speakers, great workshops and great food there.Rev. Shaheerah recognizes that God is Love. She left the Baptist religion that focuses on fear. She wants people to know that we are Love. Love is one of the 12 transforming powers of the Unity Movement. They each describe a state of consciousness. The 12 disciples represent the places in consciousness. Each disciple represents a power. The Power of Love is ruled by the disciple John (ruled by the heart). Similar to the chakras, these powers are already inside of us. Rev. Shaheerah has used the Unity principles to heal herself even now. She's writing a book: "Healing Out Loud Cause Healing Made Me Sick". She recognizes that the breath of God is breathing her. We become ill because we are out of alignment. The auto immune diseases impact women significantly.Rev. Shaheerah feels it is her duty to teach.So many mystical moments have changed her life. But when she was at Rhythmia in Costa Rica in 2021. That experience in the rainforest with the Shaman will always be profound for her. She got to see how multidimensional we truly are. The experience of being reborn. Her father came during a ceremony there and she got a healing.Shaheerah knows that while we live in this dimension, we also exist in another dimension. In the Unified Field, everything is possible. She then realized the necessity of being her Authentic Self. Spirit said for her to stop judging. She began to notice the energetic judgment. She was burned out. She sold the church and it freed her up, and her ministry remains online and is as powerful as ever. Rev. Shaheerah released her fear. She is centered in her relationship with Source. When she gets clear about her dominant thinking and how it impacts her life. She sees herself well, does her spiritual work all the time, and forgives herself. Her life teaches her. She has released judgement and it has freed her. She is unafraid to see things as they are. Her Truth is what is most important. Claiming her sacred power means she is one with God, she came here to be the Light, listening to One Voice. She will be Love while she is here. She feels Light, releases doing and focuses on Who She Be. The Holy Spirit is the Divine Feminine. But while most of us associate the name Poe with gothic poetry and raven-themed football teams, there is a far more "rough and tumble" legacy attached to the family name.On a recent episode of the Pig Pen podcast, Darin Hayes sat down with Timothy Brown of Football Archaeology to discuss a man who was a second cousin twice removed from the famous poet: the legendary Johnny Poe.A Princeton DynastyJohnnie Poe was the third of six brothers who played for Princeton University between 1882 and 1901. In an era where the Ivy League was the epicenter of the sport, the Poes were football royalty. Johnny himself was a standout during the 1891 and 1892 seasons, consistently ranking as one of the team's top scorers.However, Johnnie Poe wasn't your typical Ivy League student. He wasn't destined for the quiet life of a district attorney or a businessman like his brothers. He was a man who marched to the beat of a much louder, more dangerous drum.The Wanderer and the WarriorAfter dropping out of Princeton following his sophomore year, Johnnie's life read like an adventure novel. He spent time:Coaching: Leading the teams at the University of Virginia and Navy.Laboring: Mining for gold in the Yukon and working as a cowboy in New Mexico.Soldiering: Seeking action wherever he could find it.Johnnie's thirst for combat was legendary. He joined the Maryland militia for the Spanish-American War (but saw no action), joined the Army to fight in the Philippines (still no action), and even joined the Marines during the Panamanian Revolution. He finally "found his calling" fighting in the Honduran Army, where he finally saw the direct combat he craved.A Hero's End in the "Black Watch"When World War I broke out, Johnnie didn't wait for the United States to enter the fray. He traveled to Europe and joined the British Army. Unsatisfied with being an artilleryman behind the lines, he transferred to the Black Watch, the famous Scottish Highlander regiment.In 1915, during a fierce battle near Ypres in Flanders, Johnnie Poe was killed in action. He was shot in the stomach, and due to the chaotic nature of the conflict, his body was never recovered. He remains "out there" somewhere in the fields of France or Belgium—a fittingly mysterious end for a relative of Edgar Allan Poe.A Lasting LegacyJohnnie Poe's impact on Princeton football didn't end with his death. Even before the U.S. officially joined WWI, Princeton established the John Poe Award for the team's top player.
