Legacy of Ebenezer the Donkey. How One Animal Became a Local Community LegendIn this episode of The Story of My Pet podcast, Julie Marty-Pearson interviews Joe Dimino about his lifelong love of animals and the remarkable community bond formed around Ebenezer, a donkey in a roadside pasture near Grandview, Missouri. Joe shares how he and his son Miles (on the spectrum) regularly visited Ebenezer with carrots, how the donkey's loud bray and friendly personality drew countless neighbors to stop and connect, and how Joe's local newspaper feature and online videos helped spread Ebenezer's story. As Ebenezer aged and became ill, caregivers Randy and Shirley Phillips played a major role in supporting his care, including a stay at a horse hospital, and the community rallied with bumper stickers, memorial tributes, and even a parade float after his sudden death in 2010. Joe later created a digital book and website so Ebenezer's legacy—and the relationships he sparked—could live on.To learn more about Ebenezer the Donkey, visit the WebsiteJoe Dimino has been writing & creating in a variety of capacities since his college days at the University of Missouri-Kansas City somewhere around 1993. **Community Connection: Navigating the Fine Line Between Transparency and Safety** In a world where social media reigns supreme, it's not uncommon to see public figures and politicians under scrutiny for their actions and decisions. Today on Community Connection, Tina Cosby and her producer Eric open the phone line ant the conversation turned to the topic of transparency and safety, specifically in the context of city-county council members' home addresses being made public. The debate raises questions about the balance between accountability and personal safety. The discussion began with a proposal to remove city-county council members' home addresses from public ethics disclosure forms, citing concerns about safety and privacy. However, some listeners argued that this move could be seen as a way to hide behind a veil of secrecy, rather than addressing the root issues of communication and responsiveness. The conversation also touched on the importance of transparency and accountability in government, with some listeners sharing their own experiences of trying to contact their local representatives with little to no response. The episode also delved into the world of lotteries and the importance of transparency in government, with a caller sharing their experience of winning the lottery and the subsequent scrutiny that came with it. The conversation highlighted the need for clear communication and responsiveness from public officials, and the importance of holding them accountable for their actions. As the conversation came full circle, Tina, her listeners and producer Eric reflected on the importance of finding a balance between transparency and safety. With the rise of social media and the 24-hour news cycle, it's clear that the lines between public and private lives are becoming increasingly blurred. This episode of Community Connection encourages listeners to think critically about the role of transparency and accountability in government, and to consider the importance of clear communication and responsiveness from public officials. SI golf writer and author of Tiger & Phil, Bob Harig's Tiger v. Jack, an examination of the greatest argument in golf--who was better--exploring the records, rivalries, statistics, and context of their illustrious careers, including the intangibles that made them both icons. When Jack Nicklaus stunningly won the 1986 Masters for his 18th major championship victory, it was a reminder of the greatness of a golfer who had done so much. The major title - six years after his last - brought into focus again the dominance of his career. At the time, nobody was close to him in major wins, and the idea of anyone getting within miles of Nicklaus' major record, let alone match or overtake him, seemed, frankly, preposterous. And yet, there was a kid who was just 10 years old when Nicklaus won that last major. Tiger Woods was already thinking about Jack. He would put his accomplishments on a wall by age and try to beat those feats. Eventually, he put Nicklaus' 18 major titles in his sights, and for the better part of a decade was on pace to match or exceed the record, a remarkable thought itself. The fact that he came up short doesn't diminish the chase. In Tiger v. Jack, Bob Harig explores and compares the two legends in a lively examination of the greatest argument in golf--who was better, Jack Nicklaus or Tiger Woods--exploring the records, rivalries, statistics, and context of their illustrious careers, including the intangibles that made them both icons. They both had their moments of brilliance and dominance. What we've seen from Nicklaus and Woods is likely to never be duplicated, all the more reason to celebrate it.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

In Tiger v.
