Garth Heckman The David Alliance TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com Im gonna bring the Jesus Hammer! Garth Heckman Ryan What do you put your stock in? Look if I knew back in 1983 that for every $1000 in Microsoft would end up being 3 million dollars… I would have put stock into Microsoft… but who would have believed in that years ago… I think I learned a lesson and I did put a chunk into Bitcoin and it is doing extremely well… but here is the point - Some people put more stock in peoples rejection then in the affirmation of God in their life. That doesn't even make sense… but we do it. WE GIVE MORE CREDIT TO PEOPLES OPINIONS AND REJECTIONS THAT WE DO IN WHAT GOD SAYS IN HIS WORD. You know what that really is right? Its calling God a liar. You are saying… I don't believe you God, but I do believe the media, the work place, the current of peer pressure… Faith comes by hearing so you if you fill your head with medical science or witch craft of whatever, then that is what you have faith in. Todays major obstacle is that we have non stop input from a thousand voices every day… every day… every day. Truly when I was a kid I had the voices of my teachers, my sisters, my parents and about 8 close friends… those were the only people I put some stock in… and not a lot of stock in my teachers as I got older. On my phone everyone is an expert… literally by education, resume, popularity - however you qualify it… experts everywhere buy the thousands. I officiated a wedding 10 years ago… very wealthy couple… they had one reception for adults, with a live band that played at the Dakota club here in Twin Cities… amazing food, and beautiful decor… But they had another whole reception for kids. Candy bar, ice cream bar, hot dogs, cheese burgers, Fries, chicken nuggets… milk shakes, rooter fountain… And basically no supervision. Just a band for kids… it was mayhem. Thats what social media is like today… no supervision and nothing but crap. Romans 10:17 faith cometh by hearing and by hearing the word of God… What is the key word in this verse? Faith? Word of God? Hearing? NOPE… its cometh… meaning it is a process over time. It doesn't just happen when you hear… you feed your mind again and again what ever you feed it… will surely come. Every choice you make is making you! But way before that choice there was a voice. Be careful who you listen too… for it surely will cometh!

What happens when a skeptical news reporter becomes a passionate advocate for faith? Jennifer Dukes Lee's extraordinary journey from doubt to dedication reveals how persistent questioning can lead to profound belief.Jennifer opens up about her background as a journalist who interrogated presidential candidates with the same rigor she later applied to scripture. With refreshing honesty, she admits she doesn't have a neat conversion story—just a gradual awakening to God's persistent pursuit. "Even when I didn't believe in God, He believed in me," she reflects, capturing the essence of a faith journey many listeners will recognize in their own lives. The conversation takes a turn when Jennifer shares the never-before-told story of being trapped in her wrecked car during a blizzard. A stranger in a long skirt stood for what seemed like eternity, holding a quilt against Jennifer's broken window to block the freezing wind—a living metaphor for Christ's sacrificial love that Jennifer still carries with her today. For anyone navigating doubts or wondering if their ordinary life matters, Jennifer's story offers profound reassurance. The questions that once threatened her faith became the very path that led her to Christ. Her testimony reminds us that in a culture obsessed with the spectacular, quiet faithfulness on ordinary days is indeed holy ground.See the complete interview ⬇️https://youtu.be/g6i0GSk-8b8➡️ Reach out to Jennifer…https://jenniferdukeslee.com/https://generationstogenerations.com/podcastordinarypeoplestories@gmail.com https://www.facebook.com/ordinarypeoplestory https://www.instagram.com/ordinarypeopleextraordinary/ X: @storiesextra Any advice should be confirmed with a qualified professional. All rights reserved: Ordinary People Extraordinary ThingsStories shared by guests may not always be shared views of OPET. Chip explains why it's intellectually honest to believe that the God of the Bible is actually the one, true God. Do you know why the top universities in the world were founded? Or why someone like Harriet Tubman risked her life to rescue slaves? In this program, guest teacher John Dickerson makes that connection for us. John's gonna unpack the common thread that links some of history's most notable figures and institutions.Main Points Heroes of history who read Jesus' words and did what it says: Mary Moes Founders of Massachusetts General Hospital Johns Hopkins A challenge to non-Christians: Look for the people who actually do what Jesus said, not cultural Christians. A challenge to Christians: Do others know who you serve? What deeds are you doing that point to Jesus? Followers of Jesus throughout history: Devout followers of Jesus who led anti-slavery movements in history: Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglas, & Elijah Lovejoy Ten out of ten leading universities were started by Christians for the purpose of teaching the Bible. The Scientific Revolution was birthed by Christian scientists: Isaac Newton, Blaise Pascal, Johannes Kepler, & Robert Boyle Did Jesus actually live? For more evidence see the book, Jesus Skeptic: A Journalist Explores the credibility and Impact of Christianity by John S. Dickerson How do we know what Jesus actually said? There are more ancient manuscripts of the Bible than any other ancient literature in the world. What did Jesus say? "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." -Acts 1:8 Why does Jesus' movement keep growing? Jesus is the only one who can: Change human nature from the inside out. Jesus is the only one who can: Transform hearts. Jesus is the only one who can: Reconnect us to God. God uses ordinary people who truly believe the words of Jesus to do extraordinary things. Creation versus evolution: the never-ending debate, right? So many want us to believe that science and faith are incompatible. But what if they're not? What if science actually supports faith and what if faith actually informs science? Chip provides helpful insight to the current debate, in a time when the disagreements are more intense than ever.Main Points Defining our terms: Microevolution: The small changes that only happen within a species. Some examples of microevolution are the mosquito's ability to resist DDT after years of exposure, and the ability of different bacterial strains to resist penicillin. Macroevolution: The vertical transition between species (from one kind of species to another kind) evolving to account for all animal and human life. Creation: The belief that God created all things out of nothing, as described in the Bible in the book of Genesis. All of life in its rich complexity happened as the result of the all-powerful, all-knowing, sovereign God of the universe who is Maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. Today's four major positions: Group 1: Classic Creationism - The literal biblical account Group 2: Classic Evolution - Random change and natural selection Group 3: Theistic Evolution - God-supervised evolution Group 4: Intelligent Design - A designer of some kind How did life begin? Evolution: Life's beginning was unsupervised, impersonal, unpredictable, a natural process. The beginning of life was random, undirected without either plan or purpose. Creation: Defined by the Bible. God spoke. Why did life begin? Evolution: Life began as a pure accident. It was random chance. There was no design, no plan, no meaning, no emotions, no purpose, and no value. Creation: You are the special creation of a good and all-powerful God. You are the climax of His creation. Not only is your kind unique, but you are unique among your kind. How did various plants and animals develop? Evolution: A simple cell evolved to more complex plants and animals through the process of time, chance, natural selection, mutations, and survival of the fittest over a period of billions of years. Creation: God created various plants, animals, kinds, and species in a harmonic balance to reflect His attributes and character. Complexity of Life Cells: Thanks to today's more powerful microscopes, we know that a single-cell organism, the most basic unit of any living thing, is incredibly complex. DNA: Is like the software of the cell, the computer program that makes it work. In fact, if you took a tablespoon and filled it to the top with this DNA, your tablespoon could contain the precise instructions to build every single species of organism that has ever existed on the planet. Astronomy: “Astronomers now find they have painted themselves into a corner because they have proven, by their own methods, that the world began abruptly in an act of creation to which you can trace the seeds of every star, every planet, every living thing in this cosmos and on the earth. And they have found that all this happened as a product of forces they cannot hope to discover. That there are what I or anyone would call supernatural forces at work is now, I think, a scientifically proven fact.” - Robert Jastrow Broadcast Resource Download Free MP3 Message Notes Resource Page Additional Resource Mentions Why I Believe & Jesus Skeptic Book Bundle About Chip Ingram Chip Ingram’s passion is helping Christians really live like Christians. In this program, Chip tells us the integrity of the Christian message hinges on the resurrection of Jesus. He continues his look, that began in our previous program, at the proofs that Jesus is who He said He is…that He's God, that He rose from the dead, and is alive today. Main Points Did Jesus really exist? Biblical manuscripts: quality and quantity 25,000 New Testament documents that authenticate the reality of Jesus Christ External verification: Josephus (Jewish historian), Pliny, Tacitus (Roman historians) What was Jesus really like? Friend and foe agree: great man, moral teacher Claimed sinless life = John 8:46 Affirmed by history and impact The works of Jesus went unchallenged. Fact of miracles, feeding 5000 not disputed Eyewitness accounts validated miracles Critics never claimed He didn't perform miracles; they questioned His source of power to do them = Matthew 12:24 Who did Jesus actually claim to be? His own claim = John 14:6 God's claim = Mark 9:7 His followers' claim = Mark 8:27-30 His enemies' claim = John 10:33 External sources' claim – Pliny, AD 111 By fulfillment of over 700 Old Testament prophecies Did Jesus really die? At the time both friend and foe thought He died His flogging, beating, and crucifixion Medical evidence: water and blood indicate puncture of pericardium By burial preparation: 70 pounds of spices and linen His tomb was public and secure. Joseph of Arimathea's tomb: a high-profile member of the Sanhedrin Roman guards Roman seal Size of tombstone: would take up to 25 men to roll away Penalty of death for guards sleeping Could Jesus' resurrection possibly be true? Predicted by Old Testament prophets hundreds of years earlier Jesus predicted it openly and repeatedly Appeared to over 500 eyewitnesses in 12 different locations over 40 days Transformation of the disciples Conversion of Saul of Tarsus Transformation of Roman empire and the world Best legal minds: the evidence is conclusive! My testimony: “He changed my life.” What does this mean for you? It validates Jesus' claim that He is the way, the truth, and the life. = John 14:6 It gives you absolute hope for the future. = John 14:19 It offers spiritual life right now! = John 3:16-17 If you believe Jesus rose from the dead, you have all the power you need to be a Christian who lives like a Christian by His grace. In this program, Chip tells us the integrity of the Christian message hinges on the resurrection of Jesus. If Jesus didn't rise from death to life, none of the other tenets of the faith matter. Do you believe in heaven and hell? Are they specific places or just concepts? Is there any real evidence that points to a literal heaven and a literal hell? Chip explains what the Bible actually teaches about hell. And answers the serious question: How could a loving God send people to hell? Chip brings clarity and helpful insight.Main Points 7 Evidences of Life after Death: Nature Anthropology Psychology Ethics Philosophy Science: Near-Death Experience Jesus and the Bible Four basic truths At death, every person's soul enters immediatelyand consciously into relational aspects of eternal existence. One day, everyone will be resurrected and live forever. Every person will be judgedand granted the “extended capacity” to fulfill in eternity the deepest yearnings and desires of their heart while on earth. Every person will spend eternity in heaven with Christ and fellow believers, or in hell separated from God forever. Why there must be a Hell: Man's dignity and freedom demands a Hell. God's holiness and justice demand a Hell. Sin's seriousnessdemands a Hell. Evil's defeat demands a Hell. Conclusion: Will your eternal future be a blissful adventure or a horrible choice? Every person will be judgedand granted the “extended capacity” to fulfill in eternity the deepest yearnings and desires of their heart while on earth. Every person will spend eternity in heaven with Christ and fellow believers, or in hell separated from God forever. Why there must be a Hell: Man's dignity and freedom demands a Hell. God's holiness and justice demand a Hell. Sin's seriousnessdemands a Hell. Evil's defeat demands a Hell. Conclusion: Will your eternal future be a blissful adventure or a horrible choice? If you've ever wondered if the Bible is true – this program is for you. Chip puts the Bible on trial and lays out a case for the authenticity of scripture. He presents evidence that the Bible, as we have it today, IS reliable. And is the true, Word of God - just as meaningful to us, as it was to its first readers.Main Points Five plaguing questions about the Bible: Is the Bible the word of men or the very words of God? Is the Bible full of myths, legends, and fairytales, or is it historically reliable? Is all of the Bible true and trustworthy or only portions of it? Can a Bible that has been translated so many times, for so many hundreds of years, really be accurate? What makes the Bible so different from all other religious writings and their claims to truth? 7 Reasons why I believe in the Bible: ARCHEOLOGY – The Bible is a historically accurate document. REVELATION – The Bible claims to infallibly reveal the very words and mind of God. ORIGIN – The Bible is unique. Its origin, structure, and unity argue for a supernatural authorship. JESUS – believed the Old Testament to be the very Words of God and predicted the New Testament to be likewise. PROPHECY – sets the Bible apart from all other Religions. TRANSMISSION – The Bible's purityand perseverance throughout the centuries is nothing short of miraculous. IMPACT – The Bible's power to transform lives is overwhelming. In this program, Chip asks: Is it intellectually feasible to believe that a collection of sixty-six manuscripts, by forty different authors, written in three languages, over a period of fifteen hundred years could actually be the very words of God? If you've ever struggled with questions about the authenticity and integrity of the Bible, what Chip shares will be a great encouragement.Main Points Five plaguing questions about the Bible: Is the Bible the word of men or the very words of God? What do you do when you find yourself in a crisis of faith? How can you help someone walking through the questions and doubts they are experiencing?Ian Harber came to a critical junction in his own faith after experiencing loss after loss. Doubts began to rise and yet, he didn't have a safe space to process the questions that can so often come in our journey in knowing and understanding God. But eventually, Ian found himself on the other side of that process and began to see the need for helping others find the space to process their own questions and doubts. In his latest book, Walking Through Deconstruction: How to Be a Companion in a Crisis of Faith, he shares his own story of deconstruction and reconstruction and encourages others to be a companion to those who are experiencing a crisis in faith. In this episode, Davey and Ian discuss what deconstruction is, what can happen to a person who is experiencing a crisis in their faith, and how to walk alongside those who are questioning and doubting faith as they once knew it. Whether you are struggling with questions and doubts in your own journey with Jesus or you know someone who is, this conversation will encourage patience and compassion through the ups and downs of walking with God. Have you ever had an experience that changed your opinion or attitude on something? I mean, you thought you knew all the facts—until you went through a situation that completely changed your mind. In this program, guest teacher John Dickerson will do that by sharing two powerful testimonies that'll touch your heart.Main Points Three basic evidence categories to know that Jesus' radical claims are true: ANCIENT evidence – historical writers (Josephus, Suetonius, Tacitus, etc.) EXTERNAL evidence – an objective human record of Christ's impact on humanity. INTERNAL evidence – this is evidence that can only be known through experience. The power of “currents” In life we get carried along by different currents: Popularity, achievement, material possessions, relationships These currents while alluring and momentarily satisfying, are actually taking us into anxiety and we can't get out. You'll never know for sure if the ‘current' of Jesus will carry you to fulfillment unless you get into it. The “current” available to everyone: John 3:16 This “current” is the only one that brings salvation to anyone who believes. Jeremiah 29:13 Matthew 11:28 The fulfillment of Jesus is found in the space between religion and relationship.
