That means a lot of the time you will find yourself in this situation where you’re overwhelmed and you’ve taken on too much and that’s in your personal life and professional life. But that’s what live our life to full absorption and passion is, and you don’t have to let go of that”. “I may not be in complete control, but I am in control in a number of ways” “The sooner you start designing a business that has a life without you the better, because you can still achieve all of your goals and free yourself up in such a way that you can play in your zone. “The quicker you can free yourself up to do the things you’re good at… and the sooner you can start to create an asset for yourself, and not a job or a life sentence... the more freedom you’ll have. “The more freedom...space and financial security you have, you’ve got a greater chance of having more headspace for creative and strategic breakthroughs - that will actually make you more successful and rewarding.” You can connect with Johny: www.shifton.co https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnyodonnell/ Get your free guide '20 Affordable Sales Funnel Tools for Your Consulting or Coaching Business' http://riskfreefunnel.com/ Subscribe on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher and everywhere good podcasts are found.

Show highlights: "We all need accountability in our business. It can’t be a husband and wife holding each other accountable, or a business partner. When you have someone outside that holds you to account, things get done." "Be. Do. Have." “People say; 'When I have more time I will be a better Dad'. You can BE a better person NOW and still HAVE your lifestyle. You don’t need to hire an in-house marketing person or accounts team at $50-$60k a year. You can outsource areas of your business and have an excellent marketing or accounts team at $15k each a year without the hassle. You’ve got to have an abundance mentality. If you have the mentality that there’s lots of work out there, rather than ‘dog eats dog’, you AND your clients can benefit from that. Episode #1 is about how a major challenge helped me grow and ultimately, made me a better business owner. Last year my first child was born. He is and was a beautiful, happy, healthy boy. It should have been the happiest year of my life. Instead, it was one of the hardest. My partner got diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in her mouth and we had to get treatment. I ended up burning out. I thought I’d never work in consulting again. Most business owners and entrepreneurs can relate to the roller coaster ride that often characterises a path to leadership and success. I’m sharing this story in episode 1 because I it made me a better business owner and Father and I believe it can help others. In this episode I share three specific things I learned and what we'll be up to in future episodes. I hope you will join me.
