Tearing Down High Places or TDHP is a Podcast that endeavors to dig into the History of the Cultures, Ideologies, Thought Processes, Religion and Religious Practices of the Ancient World. By pairing the truth of the Holy Word of God (the Bible) with the ideas that helped to shape the Ancient Peoples…
After an extended absence the TDHP Podcast returns. We are in the midst of some very trying times. What should be the response of the Church in this unprecedented point of Human history? We discuss this, plus more, in the 11th Episode of TDHP.
In Episode 10 of TDHP, we go in a slightly different direction (format wise) than the previous nine episodes have gone. Episode 10 is a recording of a Sermon/Message that I recently preached. I don't use this recording of myself preaching to say that I think it was an incredibly inspiring or insightful oratory experience, but I do believe the content and idea of the Sermon to be very important for the Church to understand today. I hope this message speaks to someone/is a blessing. Thank you for listening and stay tuned for Episode 11, coming soon.
Episode 9 has arrived. At the risk of sounding overly sensational, I will say that the subject matter in episode 9 is probably the most vitally important info we have covered so far on TDHP. Understanding supernatural authority/spiritual warfare and sharing the importance of it, is what I believe to be the backbone of my calling. Ephesians 6 is the chapter God hammered into me nearly two years ago, when I rededicated myself to following God's Call in my life. I hope this episode is a blessing to anyone who listens to it. Thank you, and God bless. Stay tuned for episode 10, which will be out soon.
In Episode 8 of TDHP, we examine one of the most misinterpreted/misunderstood books of the Bible. Revelation... The very name often brings with it a sense of dread for the believer. Why is that? Is Revelation a curse or a blessing for the followers of Jesus? We examine these concepts in Episode 8. To give the perspective of "Generation Z" we are joined by special guest, Jessie Maria Sanders. I hope you enjoy the content of Episode 8. Thank you for listening and stay tuned for Episode 9, coming soon.
Hebrews Chapter 12 speaks of a Kingdom that cannot be shaken. The scriptures speak of shaking in the physical (earth quakes etc.), and the metaphorical (society, politics etc). In Episode 7 we will be examining the shaking that is taking place all around us. In the physical (on the earth), the metaphorical (society/political policies), as well as in the heavens (the unseen supernatural realm). God is shaking the foundations of Heaven and Earth, and the Church must be awake in order to see what is coming to pass before our eyes. Our foundation must be built upon the Kingdom that cannot be shaken, if we are to survive what is to come. This is not an episode I really enjoyed getting into, or a topic I was comfortable speaking on, but in the end, I had to submit myself to God's will. Thank you for listening, and stay tuned for Episode 8, which will be up very soon.
We take a look at High Places in Episode 6 of TDHP. What is a High Place? What was it's purpose and importance in the Ancient World? Why is a High Place still relevant in our World today. All these questions are addressed in Episode 6. Thank you for taking the time to listen to and support the TDHP Podcast. God Bless, and stay tuned for Episode 7 coming very soon.
Episode 5 is here. In this episode we examine the Secret Mission of Jesus, that began in Genesis, culminated in the crucifixion of Christ, and continues until this day. This episode is basically a sermon. It consists of several ideas that God gave to me over the last few months, and he then brought them together over the last week or so. A little bit of teaching, mixed with a lot of old fashioned preaching. Thank you very much for listening and keep an eye out for episode 6, coming soon.
Episode 4 goes in a slightly different direction from the first three episodes. I felt strongly to examine the problems I have personally with trusting/depending on others to be there for me, and how that shortcoming affects my relationship with Jesus. It is my hope that this episode, though definitely a large swing away from previous topics, can get the listener to take an honest look at their willingness to trust. Who has your trust? Why do they, and why don't others? Does Yahweh have your trust? Thank you for listening and stay tuned for episode five coming soon.
In episode number three of the Tearing Down High Places Podcast, we explore Exodus 14, and the Red Sea crossing. This portion of scripture is well known, for good reason, but there is a lot going on, under the surface that is incredibly exciting once unearthed. We explore the cosmic showdown between the God of Creation Yahweh, and the gods of the Egyptians/surrounding areas. I do some off notes "Preaching" as well throughout the episode. I hope you enjoy the information, and the message that I'm trying to get across. Episode four coming soon...
Episode 2 gets a little more "teachy", as opposed to the "preachiness" of Episode 1. In Part 2 of the "God vs the gods" mini series, we discuss some of the ideas that come from the Ancient Levant. We dig into the topic of God vs the gods in more historical depth and detail, discussing ideas such as "The Divine Council World View", Deuteronomy 32, and the gods of the Nations. Several of the specific deities which the Nation of Israel has struggled against, are highlighted, and possibly connected to events and ideologies that are alive in the U.S. today. Also hinted at, is the possible beginning of dragon/serpent worship that is present throughout the world, and why many of the gods of the ancients were/are serpentine/reptilian in appearance. Thank you so much for checking out the podcast. This episode is a little more in depth and detailed, but I hope it is interesting to some. Keep your eye out for episode 3, in which we will try to finish the "God vs the gods" topic with a bible study type look at three of the more famous events of the Old Testament. Coming very soon...
In the opening episode of TDHP I spend around the first half of the episode giving a quick testimony and background concerning why I have embarked on this new audio journey. In the second half of Episode 1, I get into the actual topic of what will most likely be a three part mini series. The topic is God vs the gods, in which we will be discussing who and what the gods of the nations are. In Part 1 we discuss some of the ancient ideologies that are still influencing the religious beliefs of our World today. Thank you for your time, and interest in my Podcast, and please stay tuned for Part 2, which will be coming very soon.
