In today's episode, we're tackling a common misconception in faith and finance: Does trusting God mean avoiding financial planning? Some believe that preparing for the future shows a lack of faith, while others think trusting God means not worrying about money at all. The truth lies in the balance—between detachment from wealth and responsible stewardship. We'll explore biblical examples, discuss financial responsibility, and break down the difference between surrendering to God's will and failing to plan wisely. Psalm 82 presents a striking scene: God presiding over a council of other divine beings. But what does this really mean? In this episode, we explore the ancient Near Eastern backdrop of this mysterious psalm—drawing from Canaanite and Ugaritic texts that may shed new light on its origins.
In this episode, Lanna opens up about her pregnancy journey—what it's been like physically, emotionally, and spiritually—and how everything feels so different now that she and Iggy are walking closely with the Lord. By Kevin Call - 1994 years ago today, God presented to a group of His people a special gift. The gift as a whole, the world hasn't seen firsthand. It's coming. This is the day God gave His gift of the Holy Spirit. We who are baptized have this Holy Spirit, and the ones who are seeking baptism, have the Spirit
We all face a tug-of-war between our desires and God's direction. Like Naaman, we often want to do things our way—holding on to control, pride, or comfort. But real transformation comes when we surrender fully to God. This message challenges us to stop dividing our lives into “God's part” and “my part,” and instead let God reshape the whole pie. When we trust His way over ours, we discover purpose, healing, and abundance we could never create on our own.
Garth Heckman The David Alliance TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com Im gonna bring the Jesus Hammer! Garth Heckman Ryan What do you put your stock in? Look if I knew back in 1983 that for every $1000 in Microsoft would end up being 3 million dollars… I would have put stock into Microsoft… but who would have believed in that years ago… I think I learned a lesson and I did put a chunk into Bitcoin and it is doing extremely well… but here is the point - Some people put more stock in peoples rejection then in the affirmation of God in their life. That doesn't even make sense… but we do it. WE GIVE MORE CREDIT TO PEOPLES OPINIONS AND REJECTIONS THAT WE DO IN WHAT GOD SAYS IN HIS WORD. You know what that really is right? Its calling God a liar. You are saying… I don't believe you God, but I do believe the media, the work place, the current of peer pressure… Faith comes by hearing so you if you fill your head with medical science or witch craft of whatever, then that is what you have faith in. Todays major obstacle is that we have non stop input from a thousand voices every day… every day… every day. Truly when I was a kid I had the voices of my teachers, my sisters, my parents and about 8 close friends… those were the only people I put some stock in… and not a lot of stock in my teachers as I got older. On my phone everyone is an expert… literally by education, resume, popularity - however you qualify it… experts everywhere buy the thousands. I officiated a wedding 10 years ago… very wealthy couple… they had one reception for adults, with a live band that played at the Dakota club here in Twin Cities… amazing food, and beautiful decor… But they had another whole reception for kids. Candy bar, ice cream bar, hot dogs, cheese burgers, Fries, chicken nuggets… milk shakes, rooter fountain… And basically no supervision. Just a band for kids… it was mayhem. Thats what social media is like today… no supervision and nothing but crap. Romans 10:17 faith cometh by hearing and by hearing the word of God… What is the key word in this verse? Faith? Word of God? Hearing? NOPE… its cometh… meaning it is a process over time. It doesn't just happen when you hear… you feed your mind again and again what ever you feed it… will surely come. Every choice you make is making you! But way before that choice there was a voice. Be careful who you listen too… for it surely will cometh!

Send us a textHow does the creator of the universe view time, free will, and our spiritual journey? Do we need to "manifest" our desires, or is there a simpler path to transformation? When third-generation minister and book publishing expert Steve Kidd joined me to celebrate our one million download milestone, our conversation quickly evolved into a profound exploration of faith versus modern manifestation practices. Steve cuts through spiritual complexity with refreshing clarity: "The creator of everything in the whole world wants more than anything else to just hang out with you." This perspective challenges our tendency to complicate spirituality with "woo-woo" concepts when the fundamental truth is beautifully simple.Steve's explanation of God's relationship with time provides a fascinating framework for understanding prayer. "We are time-locked beings traveling through time from yesterday to today to tomorrow. God exists simultaneously across all possible realities." This concept, combined with free will, explains why prayers aren't always answered in our expected timeframe or manner. The divine operates outside our linear timeline while respecting our freedom to choose.Beyond theological insights, Steve shares his expertise in helping nearly 5,000 people write and publish bestselling books through his interview-based approach. His message that "someone is waiting for your unique knowledge" resonates deeply—we often undervalue our experiences not realizing they could be exactly what others desperately need. Steve introduces us to "zaraz," an ancient Hebrew word meaning "the light of transformation," perfectly capturing how authentic faith naturally radiates from within rather than being forced.Whether you're questioning your spiritual path, considering writing a book, or simply seeking meaningful transformation, Steve's wisdom offers a refreshingly straightforward approach to life's biggest questions. In the 22nd message of our "Unveiling Yahweh" series, we will be looking at the Wisdom of God. Man's wisdom and God's wisdom couldn't be more different from one another. We see wisdom as simply intellect, but God's wisdom is a life of goodness and righteousness – two things which we, in our sinful state, desperately need. Thankfully, God provided the way to come into this kind of wisdom: through the Cross of Jesus Christ. In today's sermon, we dive deep into the wisdom of the Cross as revealed in 1 Corinthians 1. What happens when a nation forgets its spiritual foundations? In this thought-provoking exploration of America's Christian heritage, Jesse Cope connects seemingly disparate current events—from China's role in the fentanyl crisis to universities' embrace of DEI policies—to reveal a common thread: our collective unwillingness to acknowledge ideologies fundamentally opposed to our founding principles. The heart of this episode centers on an illuminating examination of the 1811 New York Supreme Court case "People v. Ruggles." Through Chief Justice Kent's powerful opinion, we discover how early American jurisprudence understood religious freedom in a way dramatically different from today's interpretations. Kent unequivocally declared America "a Christian people" whose morality was "deeply engrafted upon Christianity," distinguishing the true faith from what he called "imposters." This historical perspective challenges our modern assumption that the First Amendment requires treating all religions equally.Cope brilliantly articulates that the First Amendment was never intended to "separate God from the state" but rather to prevent the government from favoring particular denominations—a crucial distinction lost in contemporary discourse. Drawing from James Chapter 4, he confronts listeners with a fundamental choice between friendship with the world and friendship with God, warning that pursuit of the former inevitably leads to conflict with divine principles. For anyone concerned about America's spiritual direction, this episode offers both sobering analysis and hopeful perspective. As Calvin Coolidge once observed, "The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease." Have you made God your checkbox or your compass? The answer to this question might determine not just your personal faith journey but our collective future as a nation.Support the showThe American Soul Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1791934/subscribe
In this episode, Camille Babin kicks off a new series on why so many Christians stay stuck in business. The short answer? Mindset. There's often a gap between God's desire for us to grow and the beliefs we've picked up—like fear, false humility, and playing small. Camille unpacks how these patterns hold us back, using the parable of the talents to show what happens when we bury what God gave us. She challenges listeners to shift their mindset, stop minimizing their business, and start walking in their full potential as Kingdom entrepreneurs. If you're ready to get unstuck and align your business with God's will, this one's for you.✨
Scripture Reflection for Mar. 20, 2025: Lenten Journey: Trusting God vs Trusting Humans by Priests for Life
Abraham and Sarah, despite their mistakes and doubts, experienced the fulfillment of God's promises. Through their journey, we learn that true faith is not merely believing in God's existence but believing God and His promises. We are reminded that our righteousness is received by faith alone, not through our works, and that God's promises are steadfast and true. In this message, we are encouraged to trust in God's timing, embrace His grace, and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide our lives, producing the fruits of love, joy, peace, and more.
The Perfect Will of God vs. The Permissible Will of God • Sunday Service Website: www.PastorTodd.org To Give: www.ToddCoconato.com/give The Perfect Will of God vs. The Permissible Will of God: Seeking His Heart Above All Else As believers, we often hear about the “will of God,” but what does that truly mean? Scripture reveals that there is a difference between God's perfect will—His ultimate, sovereign plan—and His permissible will—what He allows due to human free will, even when it is not His best for us. The key to walking in victory, fulfillment, and divine purpose is seeking God's perfect will and not settling for what He merely allows. Let us dive into Scripture to understand these two aspects of God's will and why it is so important to seek His heart fully. 1. God's Perfect Will: His Sovereign, Best Plan for Us Romans 12:2 (NKJV) “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” 2. God's Permissible Will: What He Allows, but Not His Best Psalm 106:13-15 (NKJV) “They soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert. And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.” 1 Samuel 8:6-7 (NKJV) “But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, ‘Give us a king to judge us.' So Samuel prayed to the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them.'” Numbers 22:12-13, 19-22 (NKJV) “And God said to Balaam, ‘You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.' So Balaam rose in the morning and said to the princes of Balak, ‘Go back to your land, for the Lord has refused to give me permission to go with you.'” (v. 19-22) “Now therefore, please, you also stay here tonight, that I may know what more the Lord will say to me.” …Then God's anger was aroused because he went, and the Angel of the Lord took His stand in the way as an adversary against him.” 3. Why We Must Seek God's Perfect Will Ephesians 5:17 (NKJV) “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Colossians 1:9 (NKJV) “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.” John 4:34 (NKJV) “Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.'” Conclusion: The Importance of Seeking His Perfect Will Many settle for God's permissible will, pursuing relationships, jobs, or ministries that God allows but that are not His perfect plan. While He may not stop us, the consequences can be costly. We must: 1. Seek Him first (Matthew 6:33). 2. Renew our minds to discern His will (Romans 12:2). 3. Trust Him fully (Proverbs 3:5-6). 4. Pray for wisdom and revelation (Colossians 1:9). By doing this, we will walk in God's perfect will, fulfilling His best for our lives! Let us not be like Israel, demanding what God allows but missing His best. Instead, let us seek His heart and live in His perfect plan!

1 Corinthians 2:1-8 Dr. Steven Roby
When does the desire for things we love, even something seemingly innocent, become coveting? This week, Charles Tapp continues with the fourth part in this series, "God vs. Money: A Battle For the Heart" and helps navigate what this really comes down to, with his message "To Covet Or Not To Covet."
There tends to be this belief that material possessions improve our personal and social well-being. And this week, Charles Tapp debunks this myth and gets to the root cause of why we are so seduced by stuff, as he continues with the third part in this series, God vs. Money: A Battle for the Heart, with his message "The Seduction of Stuff."
We worry an awful lot about money. And this week, Charles Tapp continues his series, "God vs. Money: A Battle for the Heart" to help you discover how to find peace and satisfaction with what you have, and to learn to trust God more fully to meet your needs, with Part 2 "The Wolves of Worry."
What we spend on our money on says a lot of about the place it holds in our hearts. And this week, Charles Tapp begins a five-part series that examines a touchy subject, but offers a glimpse into what God expects of those who follow him, with Part 1 of "God vs. Money: A Battle for the Heart."
Matthew 10:16-33 brings us a stark warning from Jesus about what his disciples can expect as they seek to make disciples and proclaim the kingdom. There will be hardship and difficulty, yet we are commanded to not fear man.
On this episode of This vs. That, we explore the fascinating tension between fear of man and fear of God with special guest Ed Welch and guest co-host Jonathan Holmes, Executive Director of Fieldstone Counseling. We trace Ed's journey of writing his influential book "When People Are Big and God Is Small," which began as a response to the codependency movement of the 1980s. Through our conversation, we discover how Ed's perspective shifted from a sharp critique of cultural trends to a more pastoral approach as he began seeing these themes everywhere in Scripture. We discuss the evolution from codependency to today's independent mindset, and explore how the fear of God isn't about being afraid, but rather about awe and reverence that draws us closer to Him. Through personal stories and biblical wisdom, we unpack what it means to love Jesus more than we love the approval of others. --- Anchored Virtual provides practical help to those hurting, by anchoring their hope in Jesus, and helping others gain a better understanding of his promises.
