TennCup host Darren Reese sits down with John Maupin, the Director of Golf at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. During his 13-year tenure, Coach Maupin helped lead the Flames through the transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II. Before coaching, he was a team captain and All-Region performer at Berry College in Georgia. Coach Maupin oversees the operations of both the Lee University men's and women's golf teams, and both are ranked in the top 10 in the nation entering the spring portion of the 2020-2021 season.

Addie grew up in the Tri-Cities area, helping the Science Hill girls' golf team win a TSSAA state championship before concluding her prep career at Tennessee High. She is now a senior at the University of Florida, where she has earned All-SEC honors.
Virgil Herring is Director of Golf at the acclaimed Ensworth Golf Performance Center. He is a Charter Member Golf Channel Academy Lead Instructor. He was named 2015 TN PGA Section Teacher of the Year. He received the 2003 Tennessee Section PGA Teacher of the Year Award and was named 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2015 Middle TN Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year. Virgil was named a U.S. Kids Golf Top 50 Instructor (source) by U.S. Kids Golf and named a 2015 Top 25 Elite Junior Coach by Future Champions Golf in addition to being a Master Teacher for Future Collegean’s Golf since 2015.Virgil worked with PGA Tour player Brandt Snedeker from 2000-2007 and Tour players Harry Taylor, Brad Fabel, Cliff Kresge, Vance Veazey, Garrett Willis, Bob Wolcott, Kim Williams and Megan Grehan. He has helped over 150 junior players get college scholarships.

A Georgia native with a business degree from Auburn University, Bill spent six years playing professionally. He played the world’s best golf courses as a touring professional, gained an understanding of club operations and the ability of the everyday player as a teaching professional, and acquired technical design experience under the guidance of noted designer Bob Cupp. Since founding Bergin Golf Designs in 1994, Bergin has combined his strategic instincts and design experience with a dedication to detail in project management.Bill has left his mark on many golf courses on Tennessee, beginning with his redesign of Chattanooga Golf and Country Club. Among his original designs are the Lakes and Links courses at Tennessee Grasslands in Gallatin. He has also done extensive work at Chickasaw Country Club and Mirimichi in Memphis, Fox Den Country Club in Farragut, The Honors Course in Ooltewah, and Toqua in Loudon.Among his current projects are a 12-hole course in Oak Ridge and redesign work at Richland Country Club and Brentwood Country Club.

Tennessee Golf Association executive director Chad Anderson and Director of Communications Darren Reese interview the winningest amateur golfer in TGA history, Mr. Tim Jackson.Tim has won 23 TGA state titles, including six Tennessee Amateur championships and the 2002 Tennessee State Open crown. He swept the TGA senior titles last year, winning the Tennessee Senior Amateur, Senior Four-Ball and Senior Match Play championships.Tim is one of only five golfers to win the United States Mid-Amateur twice. He has also played in The Masters twice, and was three times the low amateur in the U.S. Senior Open (2009, 10, 11). He was also the oldest player to ever win medalist honors in the U.S. Amateur, doing so in 2009 at Southern Hills at the age of 50.The native of Memphis now resides in Williston, Tenn. with his wife Karen.
