In 2023, the DEQ listed sections of the Gallatin River as impaired due to recurring algal blooms. The blooms choke out fish and degrade water quality. State scientists are amid a six-year study trying to understand what's causing the harmful blooms. The state says it will use the results to inform local development regulations and a plan to protect the river.

Willie Stewart (b. 1982, Gallatin, TN) lives and works in New Haven, Connecticut. He received his MFA in Sculpture from Yale University in 2018, and a BFA from The Cooper Union in 2016. His work has been the subject of solo and two-person exhibitions at Morgan Presents, New York (2022); Morán Morán, Los Angeles, CA (2023, 2019); Nicelle Beauchene Gallery, New York (2023, 2021); and Pioneer Works, Brooklyn, NY, with Brent Stewart (2017). Today in Overdrive Radio, walk through Kevin Bruns' purchase of a 2019 Cummins-powered International LoneStar after several years of local dump truck ownership and work around quarries and construction sites in the Nashville, Tennessee, region. That followed early experience with authority hauling cars a couple decades back, based outside Chicago where Bruns is from originally, then pneumatic tanker work as a company driver, all of it in prep for where the owner-operator is today, married with two young children and back out on his own with authority as Bruns Trucking: https://overdriveonline.com/15749776 He restarted that authority a year and a half back, and with authority-age requirements so many brokers have today, up until recently he's hauled power only with dry vans for several large outfits, now testing the waters with a step deck trailer fairly recently purchased, where he's seeing good rates with the trailer in service for just a couple of months. Grant's mother, Angie, and sister, Gracie, have long alleged that Aaron was responsible for his death, citing inconsistencies in his account and a history of abuse. Gracie has publicly accused her father of sexual abuse, claims that were reportedly substantiated by child protective services. Despite these allegations, Aaron Solomon has not faced charges related to his son's death or the alleged abuse.I interviewed Angie Solomon in 2022, when she was still actively fighting for justice in the death of her son, Grant, and amplifying her daughter Gracie's harrowing abuse allegations against Aaron Solomon. Angie is currently held on a $500,000 bond. Supporters argue that this alleged act was driven by years of trauma and a perceived failure of the justice system to address the abuse and Grant's death.
