The The Disco, Funky and Soulful House Sessions podcast has been a constant source of enjoyment for me since around 2011. I stumbled upon it by chance and it quickly became one of my go-to podcasts. Over the years, this podcast has consistently delivered high-quality mixes that have kept me coming back for more.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is the incredible selection of music. The host has a great talent for curating tracks that perfectly blend disco, funky, and soulful house genres. Whether I'm at work, driving, or doing chores around the house, these mixes provide the perfect soundtrack. Each episode is thoughtfully crafted and flows seamlessly from one track to another, creating an immersive listening experience.
Another aspect that sets this podcast apart is its ability to evoke nostalgia while still feeling fresh and exciting. As a Chicago area ex-raver from the nineties, I appreciate the homage to the roots of house music while also embracing modern sounds and trends. The June house session 2020 stands out as a favorite mix, perfectly capturing the essence of what makes this podcast so great.
However, there is one minor downside to this podcast that I have encountered. Occasionally, there are songs included in the mixes that are difficult to find outside of the episodes themselves. While this adds an element of mystery and discovery, it can be frustrating when you're trying to track down a particular track you loved from a mix. It would be helpful if they posted song lists or provided information about where to find these elusive tracks.
In conclusion, The Disco, Funky and Soulful House Sessions podcast is a gem among podcasts in its genre. With its expertly curated music selection and seamless mixing skills, it never fails to provide hours of enjoyment month after month. Whether you're a longtime fan or new listener like myself, this podcast is definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of disco, funky, or soulful house music.
Today, 15 years ago, the very first episodes of the House Session were released. 237 episodes and at least 400 hours later, here is the new one! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening, even if it was just one or all of them. I appreciate you!
