Bootleg copies of the new unreleased ATLA movie are already flooding eBay -- yeah after the full Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender leaked online in April, bootleggers jumped on it faster than Appa on a sky bison buffet and are now hawking burned discs, USB drives, and shady digital links for $15–$50 a pop with fake Paramount+ covers slapped on. The aged-up Gaang, new voice cast, and Dave Bautista villain teases are all there in crystal clear rips while the official Paramount+ drop is still months away -- classic move of turning a massive studio screw-up into quick cash before anyone can watch it legally. In this first installment of our conversation with Greg Taylor, Ian Priston explores what it means to remember a cultural moment from the inside, not as nostalgia, but as lived perception. Greg reconstructs his introduction to Pink Floyd through a series of encounters: a poster on King's Road, the underground press, the first shock of a single, and the genuinely unfamiliar experience of the Floyd's early vision performed amid kinetic sculpture and liquid light. Rather than treating Syd Barrett era Floyd as a set of canonical artefacts, Greg's incredible recollections move between the tangible (equipment, ticketing, sight-lines and the physical layout of venues) as well as the interpretative (Barrett's “painterly” logic in sound, the band's rejection of conventional stage charisma and the early tension between pop, mainstream visibility and avant-garde intent). Part 1 ends with the story still in motion, moving towards Greg's attendance of a five-man Floyd Concert in January 1968 and the next phase of the group's evolution. It's been 25 years since Pearl Jam made one of the most impactful decisions in their history. After years of rampant tape trading of bootlegged live shows within the community, the band took matters into their own hands by creating their own official bootleg series where nearly every one of their shows would be released via CD or digital download. Ever since the 2000 tour, fans have been able to purchase any available show to be able to relive all of the amazing moments that they've witnessed live. This would go on to impact the distribution of live music from that point on. For this episode, we bring in Patrick and Brian of our Hallucinogenic Recipe team to discuss the end of the taping era and how the releases would go on to impact the fandom.
