On February 25, 1987 a book was published that would change the literary and paranormal world forever. Written by a little-known science-fiction author named Whitley Strieber, this book, simply called Communion, told the supposedly true story of Strieber's encounters with what he called 'the Visitors' - after he was abducted by them from his cabin in upstate New York. Strieber never claims to know the origins of the Visitors, possibly they are aliens, perhaps time travelers, or maybe they are from another dimension. The book was a surprising success and was even adapted into a film. While many believe Strieber's story, many people consider Striber to be a compulsive liar and subsequent sequels to Communion were even released by his publisher as fiction. On this episode of The Extramundane, Whitley Strieber comes on the show to set the story straight once and for all. -- A quick content warning for this episode, Max confronts Whitley about how he famously claimed to have been present at the tragedy on the University of Texas campus in 1966 only for that story to have been uncovered as a fallacy. However, if you do not wish to hear this content, I recommend you skip from the 21 minute mark to the 24 minute mark. -- Credits: Whitley Strieber - Clint Sowell Max Ward - Dan Kozuh Voiceover Guy - Erin Kahoa Producer: Andrew Alonso, Champlify Media Music: M.NOMIZED - The Model
In the year 1735, Pine Barrens resident Jane Leeds became so exasperated upon discovering that she was pregnant with her 13th child that she cursed the unborn child in her womb. According to legend, Satan made good on that curse and Mother Leeds gave birth to a horrific creature with a goat's head, bat wings, hooves and a forked tail. The creature whipped everyone in the room with its tail before disappearing up the chimney. Soon nicknamed the Jersey Devil, this creature has terrorized the residents of Southern New Jersey for almost 300 years. Tonight, on the Extramundane, we have The Jersey Devil. Max talks with him about how to properly heat a hot pocket, being in a thruple with Mark Zuckerberg, his hobby writing slash fiction, and his literal man cave. Many cultures around the world have folklore about shadow people, however the popularization of the term is a relatively 21st century topic and with the rampant use of digital cameras, shadowy figures have been captured lurking around purportedly haunted houses, often peaking out from behind doors and darting around in the darkness. On this episode of The Extramundane, Max interviews one of these shadow people. He talks to him about his political connections, his favorite fast food, and his love of community theater. -- Credits: Shadow Person - Mark Kendall (Ridiculous News Podcast https://www.facebook.com/RidiculousNewsPodcast/) Max Ward - Dan Kozuh Voiceover Guy - Erin Kahoa Producer: Andrew Alonso, Champlify Media Music: M.NOMIZED - The Model

On October 20, 1967, amateur filmmakers Roger Patterson and Robert "'Bob" Gimlin set off into the northern california woods to shoot footage for a documentary on the elusive sasquatch. What they ended up capturing was perhaps the most famous 954 frames of film ever recorded. The men filmed a giant, bi-pedial humanoid-type creature covered in dark reddish-brown and distinctly female, walking along the creekside. The creature, soon nicknamed Patty, walked disgruntled away from the men before disappearing into the thick foliage… never to be spotted again. Until tonight! On the Extramundane, we have Patty the Bigfoot here to talk about her unbridled feminism, her love affair with Steve Jobs, and buy Ketamine from horses. -- Credits: Patty - Rose Vineshank (https://www.facebook.com/rosevineshankcomedy) Max Ward - Dan Kozuh Voiceover Guy - Erin Kahoa Producer: Andrew Alonso, Champlify Media (or however you want) Music: M.NOMIZED - The Model

In 2014, a 70 year-old woman known as L. Melacetti came forward and gave an interview claiming that in 1964 a baby bigfoot was left on the doorstep of her Louisiana swamp home. The woman said that she raised the adolescent sasquatch on tomatoes and goats milk for the next eight years before releasing him back into the wild. Her adopted child would return occasionally, sometimes even bringing a bigfoot friend along with him to meet Melacetti. Tonight, on the Extramundane, Ms. Malacetti breaks her silence one final time to talk to us about what it is like to deal with a moody teenage sasquatch, Bigfoot's entrepreneurial spirit, and give Max an update as to what she and her adopted son are up to now. -- Credits: The Woman Who Raised Bigfoot - Nicole Kemper Max Ward - Dan Kozuh Voiceover Guy - Erin Kahoa Producer: Andrew Alonso, Champlify Media Music: M.NOMIZED - The Model
