We review a recent case where a debt collection company was falsely threatening people with lawsuits on past due consumer debt. Yorba Capital Management consented to being banned from the business of debt collection to settle an enforcement case filed by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. They also consented to a judgment against themselves for $860,000. Ironic that THEY were the ones that had legal action taken against THEM!
