Tune in to check out what our FIRS POEM was about! Meanwhile, when we revisited our first poems about "Falling In Love" and realized that we had written it in a time where love was rather scarce for us. We decided to write a 'follow-up' poem right before recording this episode since we're both in happy, healthy relationships and supposedly, the idea of falling in love should seem very different for us right now. Alright folks, here's four poems in on one session for you ! --- Enjoying this? Find us on Instagram @tittietattles ! We're also on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts! While we revisited the ultimate cult classic: Mean Girls, it occurred to us that 'relational aggression and 'female ambition' were manifested in different ways in our cultures. We definitely grew to love and adore a lot of character traits displayed by strong female teen queen bees like Regina George, Sharpay Evans, Blair Waldorf, Cheryl Blossom…etc. However, it does tricky when they're always portrayed as villains! Also, BIG SHOUTOUT to Mr.Ms. “五十+1人“ for leaving us a comment titled #好奇你們的求學背景 ! We spent some time addressing your question so please let us know if that was helpful! --- Enjoying this? Guess the theme or our FIRST TITTIE POETRY SESSION! C'mon, don't be shy, entertain us for a bit and let us know what YOU think our first poem is about! While chefs have bake-offs, we lit majors also enjoy poetry challenges as well! While we were still struggling to settle into the next stages of our adulthood, writing poetry on the subway helped us cope with a lot of skeletons that we left untended before moving forwards. Let us know if you liked our short poetry session and stay tuned for our NEXT Episode while we talk about MEAN GIRLS and how they are manifested in both western and Asian contexts! Enjoying this? After watching Mrs. Maisel, we stumbled upon some female Chinese comedians! Why is it hard for two third-culture kids to relate to Chinese stand-up? Is it because of the censored content or are we really out of touch? How do female comedies try to thrust punches in a misogynistic society? --- Enjoying this? Find us on Instagram @tittietattles ! How can East Asians relate to middle-class Jewish culture? We found some interesting similarities among contemporary Chinese, Taiwanese, and Jewish values! How do we deal with the inflating egos of our male spouses? How was Joel a tad bit more feminist than we expected? How are profanity and female comedy received in East Asia? #WithGreatPrivilegeComesMediocreSuccess What happened to Rory, and what can Asians who are programmed to just focus on becoming successful learn from Rory's story? ---- Phoebe finally finished Gilmore Girls, and she is furious! Would something like Bridgerton, or even Gossip Girl even work as an Asian drama series? How does the idea of 'gossip' resonate with Asians in a cultural sense, and why would / wouldn't a Whistledown/Gossip Girl hierarchy work in Asian society? What do we think about Daphne beyond Phoebe Dnyevor's divine beauty? Would she fit in an Asian community if we all went to school together? Tune in and tell us what you think? Enjoying this? Both British and US media have taken their sides on what to make of Meghan and Harry's bombshell interview with Oprah. As Asians, we're finding the hype rather interesting. We couldn't help but wonder: How would things have unravled if Meghan were Asian? Here's our reaction to the interview and what we find intriguing as two Asian gals. Enjoy this episode? Great! Lane and Mrs. Kim are the cutest and the only Asian Americans on the show with a complete character arc. But honestly, for us, Rory is the one we identify the most from an "Asian" perspective. Guess Ms. Amy Sherman-Palladino didn't realize how much Rory's character would appeal to her Asian audience. Enjoying this?
